👉🏽 8/22: Soaked seed in straight URB solution for 45 minutes. Rinsed and placed in paper towel moistened with URB water at 12:00 p.m. for germination.
👉🏽 8/24: Placed in soil watered 24 hours before with Voodoo Juice. (Will use Voodoo juice through the first or second watering. Time to sprout: 59 hours.
This is my fourth grow. Will be running three Mephisto plants alongside this Night Owl: 4-Assed Monkey, Hubbabubbahaze, and Orange Diesel.
Using 2 gallon fabric pots and Biobizz Lite Mix soil. Keeping the tent between 75-80ºF and 55-60% RH. I'll be using the OG Spring to train this one, and hope she's a monster!
Thanks for dropping by! 🖖🏽🌿
👉🏽Day 2 (8/27): Seedling emerged morning of 8/26. Light height at 1 m with intensity set at 50%. Will be trying TaNg's easy auto feeding schedule, adding, Voodoo Juice/Mammoth P, Great White mycorrhizae (top-dressed bi-weekly), and Cal-Mag (when needed.)
Total time to break soil surface: 38 hours.
👉🏽Day 4 (8/29): First watering B-52, Voodoo Juice, and a top-dressing of Great White. Raised light intensity to one notch above 50%, and all's well.
Next watering: Water, Voodoo Juice, and Great White, depending on pot weight. Next application of Great White: around 9/12 (bi-weekly).
👉🏽 Day 7 (9/1): Watered to 10% runoff. Tied for 2nd in the tent and growing well. Will begin watering with light nutrients after Day 10 (9/4).
👉🏽 Day 9 (9/3): All's good. Vigorous and solid overall.
👉🏽 Day 13 (9/7): Watered with nutrients for the first time (1.5 liters). All of her tentmates drooped after watering to 15% runoff, but she's a trooper.
Next watering with Sensi Bloom A&B, Mammoth P, and (maybe) CalMag. Will be adding nutrients with each watering.
Next application of Great White: around 9/12.
Thanks for dropping by! 🖖🏽🌿
👉🏽 Day 15 (9/9): Doing well. Recovered quickly from watering stress. Will stop watering to runoff during veg cycle.
👉🏽 Day 17 (9/11): Steady climber, growing .5"/day. Watered with first dose of Mammoth P. Held off on CalMag. Recovering well, and she just hit pre-flower. Will monitor to see if Sensi Bloom A&B can be stepped up to .75 ml/l due to some lightening on lower leaves.
👉🏽 Day 20 (9/14): Watered with higher level of Sensi Bloom A&B (.75 ml/l), first dose of CalMag, and second dose of Mammoth P for the week. Responding well to increased nutrients. Growth is steady at .5"/day, and will start OG Spring training when she hits 12"-14".
Next watering with Sensi Bloom A&B and CalMag. Will be adding nutrients with each watering.
Next application of Mammoth P: around 9/18 (2x weekly).
Next application of Great White: around 9/26.
Thanks for dropping by! 🖖🏽🌿
👉🏽 Day 22 (9/16): Will water on Day 23 with the higher level of Sensi Bloom A&B (.75 ml/l) and second dose of CalMag, holding off on next dose of Mammoth P until the watering to follow. Steady 1" growth/day. Some lightening of the tips on new growth, so hoping not to stress the plant too much. Steady 1" growth/day.
👉🏽 Day 23 (9/17): Watered and did some minor defoliation of 50/50 leaves and cotyledons. The pot was bone dry, so I'm hoping for a quick recovery. I installed the OG Spring; it's my first time using it, so it took a while to set up. Will be exciting to see how many more bud sites develop, since I don't do much LST normally.
👉🏽 Day 24 (9/18): Switching lights to 20/4.
👉🏽 Day 25 (9/19): Normal watering with Mammoth P. Adjusting the main cola on the OG Spring every day; she's stretching, but I won't be able to give accurate height measurements. About 10 bud sites now getting maximum light!
👉🏽 Day 27 (9/21): Normal watering. The spring is working great: about 12 bud sites exposed and evenly growing. (Still have about 1" of apical dominance.)
Next watering with Sensi Bloom A&B, CalMag, Mammoth P, and Big Bud. Will be adding nutrients with each watering.
Next application of Mammoth P: around 9/22 (2x weekly).
First application of Big Bud: around 9/24 (Day 30).
Next application of Great White: around 9/26.
👉🏽 Day 29 (9/23): Watered, adding Mammoth P and first dose of Big Bud (.25 ml/l to increase to .5 ml/l if there's a good reaction). The lights have been turned up to 2 notches above 50%, and everything's happy. Trying to maintain the main cola 1" above other bud sites, and she's stretching!
👉🏽 Day 31 (9/25): Watered, adding Great White top-dress and keeping Big Bud at .25ml/l. Now fully transitioned to 18/6 light cycle and the satellite branches are filling in nicely.
👉🏽 Day 33 (9/27):Watered, defoliated lower leaves, and removed lower bud sites not getting light. Also removed inward-facing leaves. 18/6 working well so far.
👉🏽 Day 35 (9/29): Watered and continued defoliation, especially of lower bud sites. Responding well and looking forward spacing out the branches on the main cola.
Next watering with Sensi Bloom A&B, CalMag, Mammoth P, and Big Bud. Will be adding nutrients with each watering.
Next application of Mammoth P: around 9/30 (2x weekly).
Next application of Great White: around 10/9.
Thanks for dropping by! 🖖🏽🌿
👉🏽 Day 35 (9/29): Nice, even canopy is developing, and I've lowered/bent the main cola below the level of the satellite branches.
👉🏽 Day 37 (10/1): Watered, with some minor defoliation and culling of lower bud sites and smaller branches (coming off satellites).
👉🏽 Day 39 (10/3):Watered, with very minor defoliation. First visible trichomes appeared on Day 38 (10/2).
👉🏽 Day 41 (10/5): Watered and defoliated 50/50 leaves. Most of the canopy is spread out well, and air circulation is okay.
Next watering with CalMag, Sensi Bloom A&B, Big Bud, Carboload. Will be adding nutrients with each watering.
Next application of Mammoth P: around 10/8 (2x weekly).
Switch from Big Bud to Overdrive: 10/9
Next application of Great White: around 10/9.
Thanks for dropping by! 🖖🏽🌿
👉🏽 Day 43 (10/7): Watered and doing well. May reposition some stems after the next watering; shift from Big Bud to Overdrive then, as well.
👉🏽 Day 45 (10/9): Watered. Did a little light training to increase light exposure and airflow on branches not attached to OG Spring--nothing major this far into flower.
👉🏽 Day 47 (10/11): Watered and noticed a bit of nitrogen burn on new growth, so I'll probably dial back the Sensi Bloom A&B to .5 ml/l for the future. Destroyed my (cheap) pH pen, got the (cheap) backup pen calibrated, and ordered a new Apera pen. No pH issues 12 hours after watering. 🤞
👉🏽 Day 49 (10/13): Apparently, my old pH pen was off +.9 in its readings, so she's probably been getting 5.6 pH waterings! She looks like she'll power through, though. Watered with Mammoth P. Really satisfying to watch her bulking up.
Next watering with CalMag, Sensi Bloom A&B, Overdrive, and Carboload. Will be adding nutrients with each watering.
Next application of Mammoth P: 10/16 (2x weekly).
Next application of Great White: around 10/24.
Thanks for dropping by! 🖖🏽🌿
👉🏽 Day 50 (10/14): Responded well to the first feeding with correctly pH'd (!) solution.
👉🏽 Day 51 (10/15): Fed and removed a few 50/50 leaves. The tips on the new growth are only slightly white, so the lower Bloom dosage and correct pH seem to be doing the trick!
👉🏽 Day 53 (10/17): Fed and did some minor defoliation, but will try to keep most of the leaves on longer due to its structure. Back on track and thickening up.
👉🏽 Day 55 (10/19): Fed and removed a few necrotic leaves. I'll be scheduling two 15-minute periods--four hours apart--of UVB light tomorrow for an initial run. The UVB light is hung at 36" above the canopy.
👉🏽 Day 56 (10/20): Responded well to first dose of UVB light, and I'll check the trichomes tomorrow to see if I can notice any denser growth.
Next watering with CalMag, Sensi Bloom A&B, Overdrive, Mammoth P, and Carboload. Will be adding nutrients with each watering.
Next application of Mammoth P: 10/21 (2x weekly).
Next application of Great White: around 10/24.
Thanks for dropping by! 🖖🏽🌿
👉🏽 Day 57 (10/21): Fed and removed a couple more necrotic leaves, but things seem stable for now. She does *not* like the UVB light, and is browning at the edges of older, damaged leaves. Will probably have to pull her out of the tent during the 15-minute UV periods.
👉🏽 Day 59 (10/23): Fed, including a top-dress of Great White. Just letting her get on with it. Slender, lengthy buds are thickening up slowly. 😌
👉🏽 Day 61 (10/25): Fed with added Mammoth P. Seems like she's in stable shape--happier with the pH issues behind her.
👉🏽 Day 63 (10/27): Fed and the leaves look halfway decent. She's at about 50-60% cloudy. Smells like eucalyptus and Lemonheads candy.
Next watering with CalMag, Sensi Bloom A&B, Overdrive, Mammpth P, and Carboload. Will be adding nutrients with each watering.
Next application of Mammoth P: 10/29 (2x weekly).
Next application of Great White: around 11/6.
👉🏽 Day 63 (10/27): Fed and the leaves look halfway decent. She's at about 50-60% cloudy. Smells like eucalyptus and Lemonheads candy.
👉🏽 Day 64 (10/28): Staying healthy despite the pH damage from just over a week ago. Like the other sativa-dominant in the tent, the buds are steadily growing. She's not in a big rush.
👉🏽 Day 65 (10/29): Fed and checked trichomes. Sticky and at a solid 60% cloudy.
👉🏽 Day 67 (10/31): Fed, rotated, and not much else. The leaves are holding out, and she's steady after the pH meter change.
👉🏽 Day 69 (11/2): Fed and rotated, and everything's steady.
Next watering with CalMag, Sensi Bloom A&B, Overdrive, and Carboload. Will be adding nutrients with each watering.
Next application of Mammoth P: 11/6 (2x weekly).
Next application of Great White: around 11/6.
Thanks for dropping by! 🖖🏽🌿
👉🏽 Day 72 (11/5): Doing fine.
👉🏽 Day 73 (11/6): Fed and rotated. Decided to skip Great White since it's deep into flower. Trichomes look to be about 60% cloudy.
👉🏽 Day 75 (11/8): Fed and rotated. Lowered the dose of Sensi Bloom A&B to .25 ml/l and raised the Overdrive to .5 ml/l. She's getting close.
Next watering with CalMag, Sensi Bloom A&B, Overdrive, Mammoth P, and Carboload. Will be adding nutrients with each watering.
Next application of Mammoth P: 11/10 (2x weekly).
Thanks for dropping by! 🖖🏽🌿
👉🏽 Day 78 (11/11): Fed and rotated. Decided that will be the last watering. I'll be harvesting and wet trimming all four plants in the tent on Day 80 before placing them in the HerbsNow. The tester nug was pretty amazing, and I'm looking forward to the cure.
👉🏽 Day 80 (11/13): Harvest day for this 2-gallon experiment! Removed fan leaves before taking the photos included above. The wet trim went okay; seemed like I would discover new sugar leaves after thinking I fully trimmed a nug. (Probably because she was the last of four plants trimmed in one day!) Wet weight: 155g. Hoping to get at least an oz. dried.
Thanks for dropping by! 🖖🏽🌿
This 2-gallon run was harvested at 80 days, wet trimmed, and placed in the HerbsNow dryer for 65 hours. After a few days curing, the bud has gotten louder and more hydrated. Has a faint lemon-lime scent, with some pine and sweetness in the background. Hopefully, the smells intensify during the cure. (Dry yield=38 g/1.35 oz.)
Will update at different points of the cure. Smooth smoke after five days. It has an initial headrush, which transitions to an energetic, euphoric sativa. Probably the best quality high from homegrown stuff that I've experienced! Bonus: helps focus without paranoia.
This Galaxy Brain (#5) took well to training, and the OG Spring was excellent--more convenient than typical LST, for sure. It took massive pH swings and UVB overexposure fairly well. I was surprised that this 2-gallon grow produced about 1 oz. of dried bud, while my previous 3-gallon grows produced 2-2.5 oz. yields. The buds are pretty compact and dense--maybe 8/10 on that scale. This plant would be perfect for a 3-gallon (or even 5-gallon) grow with good training. (It's worth it, especially since there's a good ratio of Zamal in the mix!)
