Lots of growth again, she isnt far behind the big one..
I have squeezed all the tops this week (those that I could actually squeeze, the stems are super strong!) hopefully this will reduce the stretch, make them stronger. Just trying things to see what works and what doesn't.
Need to stake around the plant to provide support at some point.
Update:
Noticed white pistils on a few branches... so we begin flowering with this one ๐. Same strain and same environment as my first grow but 7 weeks faster to begin flowering.. so for sure she is light and not age dependent to some degree.
@Med_in_Tropic, truly amazing from here!!! (as I don't have to deal with heavy rain and all others crazy storms). I wish I will visit this part of the world one day=)
@Top_Banana, Because in your video we have all these jungle like lovely noises! (birds, inscects and animals) Thanks for sharing: here we are just a few days away from first snow!!
I think a little chewed in dry season is okay. I find bugs are easier to control than mite. And when there are bugs, there will be less mites.
At this point, your Thai girls will want more P and K.
@Top_Banana, crab meal is wonderful. It is a main source of chitosan. Good for roots but it may idelay flowering time.
Another calcium source is egg shell tea. Should be organic enough 5555. It is popular where i am.
@Med_in_Tropic, wow, lots of info for the memory bank.. thanks.. I've ordered some Biobizz calMag just to be safe. I have added a monthly top dress of crab meal from the beginning and thought that would be sufficient.. will see of biobizz makes a difference.. thanks ๐
Hi @Top_Banana, Thai sativa does not take much. Less is more. So, what your have would be plenty. I think your biobloom has plenty of every thing already.
There is a local bioblom and I am not sure if it is the same as imported stuff. The local stuff doesn't say what are in it. I have never got around to using it either. Overfeeding plants is a sure way to ruin it.
Rock phosphate and bone meal in the soil could block calcium and magnesium. Again, your biobloom may has those already.
If there are sign of yellowing, cal mag spray may be in order. In Thailand, rice farmer use Cal Mag for their paddies and it is available in farming supply. If not the internet will do. My experience with calcium and magnesium is that they are immobile during flowering phase. And it is best to spray are round or two.
For pottassium, I have no good organic solution with local products. And I don't eat enough banana to have enough banana peals for use as fertilizer. Instead, I use salt petre - potassium nitrate. That is also available from farmer fertilizer shop as 13-0-46 fertilizer. However, I find it more effective when mix one tea spoon of salt petre to a cup of "artificial lime juice" before use. Artificial lime juice is available at super market. Basically, it is food grade citric acic. And it helps reduce potassium burns. @GYOweed knows the chemistry. I just know that it work.
Good luck with your grow I hope you get the best taste of buds and healthy plants! Take care and stay lit! I will drop by sometimes to check on your process! Say hello if you ever visit my page!
Greetings from L.S.T ๐๐ผ๐
@Legendaryseedthumb,
Hi,
New to all of this. We're Avid gardeners and practice Permaculture here but this is the first grow of the herb. We have had spidermites since practically day 1 and Japanese beetles every evening. There is only so much neem oil you can apply! I have to make do with a small paint brush and persistence with the mites which has gotten me this far. Nothing I can do about the Japanese beetles I just hope to make it to the end and smoke my first grow. ๐
Thanks for the kind comments and will be sure to check out your diary..
Nice job TB. I watch my mate med in tropic from Thailand. It's not easy navigating through rain and humidity. It takes a skilled grower with a keen eye for trouble. Very nice job on this one mate ๐๐ฅ
Gotta love those monster sativas, I can't hike up in the mountains anymore because of health issues so I can't grow them anymore, I sure like watching others growing them, and of course I grow mini monsters inside ๐
Looking good ๐
@Cyrusdavirus, your indoor grows are super impressive dude! I am at a slight elevation here so maybe 2c lower than down at sea level but with plenty of wind... makes a huge difference ๐ฑ๐๐ฑ
The land race plants that I used to grow don't mature uniformly.
After two months into flower, it was like weekly harvest of a few branhes for next two months. Plants keep sprouting new tops.
And flowers never look nice. On the other hand, the high are not like modern European "Thai landrace" designed for tent grow.
I guess that why brick weeds are harvest from a field at a convernient time. Usually brick weed has every thing from buds, seeds, and leaves.
You may want to put up some target board near your plant and fire a few rounds of bullet into it.
@Top_Banana, it will look like weed that you got from the brick. Sticky but no where near OG Kush.
After eight weeks, you can reasonably start to trim branchesh with heavy flowers.
I use wifi-microscope to decide.
Hi @Top_Banana, mine was also a Thai from brick weeds. Came from an North East train ๐๐๐๐๐ I guess its from that area.
Gun range target board. People like to steal weeds. Put up target board is like a scare crow. Otherwise load cray pellets in your shot gun and shoot at the thiefs. It won't kill them but it usually give them good lesson.
@Top_Banana, well, if you do find Thai with reasonable flowering time please let me kbโnow. I tried a few strains and there seemed to sacrificed taste/high with indica blend.
@Med_in_Tropic, a nice way of putting it.. man, she smokes so clean tasting.. just a shame about the long wait.. need to find a strain similar in effect/taste but faster growing ๐
@Top_Banana.. nice one fella, cant belive Ive just seen this... looking good mate but the Thai staivas can be a real pain they are allowed to interbreed over and over and have loads of bad recessive traits as you prob know... Pulled 7 of mine... have a peek... Loads of proper top advisers here not me at all but for anything SE Asian Sativa, Thai relaed @Med_in_Tropic its the man buy a long way.. very modest too, going to have a better look at your grows later dude...๐ ๐ ๐
