Really glad to get started growing again after the birth of my daughter! Big thanks to Zamnesia for the seeds; they’ve sent Runtz, White Widow, and Jack Herer Auto (thought I’d go for some classics as well as the new favorite). This will also be my first photoperiod grow, so doubly excited for this one.
Started the seed in wet paper towels on 29/8/21. I’ll plant directly in a 11L pot once it germinates, am thinking of a 20/4 schedule to start. I’ll be using Biobizz nutrients, Dynomyco, and some leftover Bio-terra potting soil I’ve got in the garage.
Sept 1 2021 update: after 60 hours she had a substantial root so off we go. Potted as above with a little root juice (150mL of water with 1mL/L root juice) and 100g of Dynomyco.
I love this phase. So much happens every day! So I planted earlier in the week and I guess this isn’t technically a full week after germination, but whatever—if I don’t update on a Saturday I forget. 😂 anyway! All good so far, it popped from the surface just under 24 hours after planting. Beyond that, not much to say except that I got a new Rhino filter so am interested to see how it goes. I also finally made it to my local supply shop, which was amazing. Support local businesses!
Wow has it been hot! The plant doesn’t seem to mind but man it’s been roasting—up to 31 in the tent at one point. It’s cooling off a bit now but my added filtering has lowered airflow, so the tent is still a bit hot. But perfectly pleased with the growth. Still haven’t decided if I won’t train or I will: if anyone has grown this strain let me know what worked for you!
As always thanks to Zamnesia for the tester seeds!
I debated FIMing and decided to do it since I’d had success with it for my Zkittlez grow. This one has really seemed to pop, so I think it was the right choice. There are few leaf spots, I think it’s because I’m used to the more hot Biobizz all mix. I’ve also introduced ecothrive biosys on the advice of my local hydro shop.
Another week down! As always thanks to Zamnesia (@zammi_official) for the tester seeds.
Wow—I went away for a week and this thing has more than doubled in size. It clearly was very happy with the FIM. I’ve cleared out fan leaves and done a little very light LST just to get stuff spaced out. Probably will flip to flower next week.
Another big growth week and since my tent isn’t huge I’ve flipped to 12/12. Some small pistils just starting to peek out. Overall super pleased. The interior fan fell off at some point and snapped one of the lower arms nearly off, but it’s reattached super well (I’ve stuck a picture of it up). I’ve tried to keep LST light and have been trimming leaves regularly. I’m hoping for just a moderate stretch, but it really seems to want to get bigger. Nute wise I’m still keeping it very light, but no warning signs so far.
As always thanks to @zammi_official for the seeds! Show them some love folks. Very pleased with the genetics so far.
Well, plenty to report this week. First, the stupid fan fell again and this time it completely knocked off a small branch. I’ll zip tie it back up, but am not very pleased with the fan or myself.
Growth is nuts though. I’m really anxious that I should have scrogged and not had anything else in the tent since it’s starting to take up so much room, and it’s getting very close to the light. But it seems very happy and lovely to see such nice growth.
Wow, so tons of vertical growth this week. So much so that I ran out and bought a new tent! The old one was 60x60x140 and was a generic non name thing, but the new one is a Budbox Pro medium shorty (75x75x160), about the biggest tent I can manage at the minute. But super pleased with it—seems like very high quality and I got it for 40GBP cheaper than Amazon from my local hydro hobby store. Thanks guys!
Anyway, loads of growth including nice flower development. I defoliated fairly strongly early in the week as well.
As always thanks @zammi_official for the seeds!
Another ten cm of vertical growth! Please stop growing or I’ll have to buy another tent… again! 😂 I think/hope the stretch is just about done though. Plenty of good bud growth and lots of trichromes popping up. I trimmed a lot of fan leaves this week. I’m currently watering more or less every other day, 2L every time. I’m convinced that the combination of Biosys every other week and leaving my water out to allow chlorine to evaporate has made a big difference for this grow. Other than that: I’m alternating Algamic and calmag every other feed, since there are no signs of deficiency (if anything I saw some signs of a micronutrient surplus and so cut back a little). Super happy with this grow.
Thanks again to @zammi_official for the tester seeds!
Buds fattening nicely! Thankfully no more vertical growth, whew. My main worry at this point (besides bud rot) is stems splitting when I move the plants to water them. There’s a little purpling to some of the upper leaves so I’ve upped nutes a tiny bit (especially Algamic, though I admit I’m not actually sure what the deficiency is—except that it’s probably immobile micronutrients, right?). I still cut nutes in half when using Biosys once a week. As always, thanks Zamnesia for the tester seeds.
Another week closer and the buds are really popping now; by next week I think they will be a lot bigger. I should be better about trimming popcorn buds but oh well. The upper leaf purpling is still going on so I’ve changed the nutes to get more phosphorus in. Frankly I don’t know if that’s right so any advice appreciated!
Thanks Zamnesia for the tester seeds!
Making progress. Probably 10% milky trichromes at this point. Plenty of bud growth too. The main tragedy this week was that one of the stems bent over about twenty cm from the top, probably when I was trying to move the plant to water it. It’s back upright and seems fine, but the bend is right in some buds and my taping job probably isn’t doing much. Hopefully it’ll last another week or so u til harvest. Otherwise: more slow stem purpling. Any advice appreciated!
Thanks Zamnesia for the tester seeds!
Plenty of rusting on the upper leaves, but we’re getting closer. About 50% milky, no amber trichromes yet. It’s a bit uneven, so I’m hoping the lower buds catch up a little bit. Smells lovely; sweet and minerally. Can’t wait to chop!
Flushing this week—normally not something I do, since I’ve read a few peer-reviewed studies that showed no change to taste (even if I know loads of you would disagree). But I’m hoping it’ll hurry the plant up that last little bit since I’m basically out of weed. Just about all milky trichromes now, but a few clear ones and still a bit of bud growth especially lower down. Looking forward to harvesting hopefully this week.
Thanks Zamnesia for the tester seeds!
A solid hybrid. I harvested a bit early so it’s a bit heady for me, but it’s still a nice head/body mix. Fairly strong--I think Zamnesia lists this as 20% THC, which feels right. I'm a big fan of these more old-school strains and this one is solid gold. Honestly, this is just excellent default weed. It’s not crazy in any direction, but it’s a wonderful everyday smoke. I smoke both for fun and to manage anxiety/depression, and this one definitely can handle both uses well. I am increasingly turning to it when the depression is bad, since it’s so uplifting. Less so for anxiety, since stronger sativa/hybrids can make me overly sensitive or paranoid. The smell is strong toffee/malt/banana. Super tasty. Strong recommend.
I was disappointed with the small harvest, considering the vegetative growth. 165g wet and 42 dry. The buds are fluffy and not very dense. Lots of small buds. I flushed for two weeks before harvest but there were still white pistils, so I should/could have left it longer. Growing was super easy, not even any issues with flies. No lockout drama, no nothing. Responded very well to FIM. Really I should have waited a few more weeks, so I shouldn’t complain. Very happy with the genetics. Would happily grow again. Thanks very much to Zamnesia for the tester seeds.
