Sweet Zenzation - Tropicanna - Caramel

BullWeedDog 1st day: on my first day, after planting, we can already see the first cotyledons with their little leaves coming out; in some varieties like Tropicanna Poison, they have stretched quite a bit. In the Cream Mandarine, one has come out like the others, and the other is still taking a bit longer to appear; I won't get desperate and will wait calmly for it to come out. I've had a bit of trouble controlling the climate inside the grow. I can't keep the humidity high; for that, I've used a membrane humidifier and a spray bottle with which I've been misting the tent one or two times a day to try to maintain humidity, achieving ranges of about 30% to 40% humidity without being able to reach the optimal ranges of 60% or 70%. I've also had the temperature elevated in the grow environment to about 30°C and soil temperature at 26°C. To lower these parameters a bit, I've moved the reflector a bit further away, about 60cm from the plants, not raising it too much to avoid excessive stretching of them. 2nd day: I've managed to control the humidity a bit more, but the temperature is still fluctuating between about 27°C - 30°C. I've brought the humidity to about 50% during the day and about 70% at night. To achieve this, I've placed a single membrane humidifier and a bucket of water. The Cream Mandarine seed that hadn't come out has finally sprouted and has also caught up in size with the other varieties, as we can see in the photo, with a height of 5.5cm. We've also added a fan and a bag of mycelium to provide CO2 to the grow. 3rd day: they're continuing to grow well; they're still seedlings and I haven't added any type of fertilizer. Today I misted water over the surface of the substrate trying not to wet the leaves to avoid light burns; I didn't water them because they're still very small, and while the soil is moist on the surface, we shouldn't water them to avoid excess water. Today I've finally controlled the humidity and temperature parameters, reaching the optimal ranges, with a temperature of 26°C and humidity between 64% and 70%. 4th day: the plants continue to grow at an impressive speed, especially the Cream Mandarine; it has gone from about 6cm to about 8cm in just 1 day. The rest of the plants don't show much difference, however, the Sweet Zenzation variety is starting to show its second leaves. We're still maintaining optimal ranges of temperature and humidity around 26°C and 65% humidity. 5th day: The plants continue to grow; the Cream Caramel, for its part, has quite a good stretch, the Sweet Zenzation is developing quite quickly with its second little leaves growing, and Tropicanna Poison has a very even development with the Cream Caramel but a size similar to the Sweet Zenzation. The temperature and humidity parameters are still maintained at an optimal level of 25°C - 67%. Given the slight but noticeable size difference between some plants and others, I've decided to rotate them to check if the more elongated growth of the Cream Caramel is due to light exposure. 6th day: The plants continue their normal growth; we haven't seen much variation compared to yesterday, but they have a good size and development, although the only difference has been that by moving them around, I've managed to get them matched in size. The soil, after several days, has dried a bit on the surface and its weight is totally negligible, so I will only water it with water. 7th day: Today there is a big difference in the plants; they are much more developed, with second leaves on some, and you can see the third leaves starting to come out. A pretty rapid development in these last ones compared to the others. It's noticeable how the lack of water affected the plants and how they've grown in such a short time. I've also seen a small insect that looks like a white elongated dot; I don't know if it's thrips or something else. I've also seen another one on the underside of the leaf that seems more like a pest. I was waiting for day 8 to start with the preventive measures, but some insects have already gotten ahead of me; I hope it's not serious, although on some plants, there are some spots that look like thrips feeding on the sap. I hope to solve this starting tomorrow.

BullWeedDog 8th Day: The plants keep growing; when I see them in the morning, I've noticed quite a bit of humidity inside the tent. This might be because the humidifier was left on overnight. I’ll have to change it so that it turns on with the grow light. Being the first day of the 2nd week, I've already started with the preventive measures, first using a mixture of potassium soap and neem oil to wash the leaves. After it dried, I sprayed Leaf-Coat from BioBizz, and I also placed yellow traps for the insects. As for temperature and humidity parameters, they remain the same. The growth of the plants is excellent. 9th Day: The plants have slowed down their development a bit. Today I saw other different insects; I could see adults, one seemed to be a thrip and the other a fungus gnat. Since I watered the soil, it has remained very humid. The plants are taking on a strange shape with the leaves drooping, and one of them is growing differently. Since I think I have an excess of watering, I turned off the humidifier to lower the humidity and see if the substrate dries a bit faster. Today, the humidity dropped from 67% to about 47%. I raised the reflector a bit to about 70 cm from the plants to prevent them from being too affected by the heat from the bulb. 10th Day: The plants continue to take on that strange morphology, but they show no signs of any deficiency or excess that could be from overwatering since the substrate is still moist from the last time I watered. Today I found another adult thrip and what seemed to be an egg. I sprayed with a chemical insecticide that is for thrips; I hope it works and is long-lasting. I found it strange to see thrips since the plant is so small, but it could be due to the humidity that was maintained inside the grow at around 70%, which I’ve tried to correct by removing the humidifier. 11th Day: Today, I haven't seen any more bugs on the plants; I hope everything worked and they don’t come back. The substrate has dried a bit and looks in better condition; it’s no longer soaked, and the plants look more alive. One of the plants has a strange morphology; I hope this doesn’t cause me problems when doing the SCROG. I've lowered the humidity from about 70% to 47%; quite good for this stage, and you can tell the plants appreciate it. 12th Day: The plants keep growing, although now a bit slower; this might be because they are running out of space in the pot. Soon I will transplant these plants into a final 11L pot. I've made some changes in the grow, like adding another fan and two strips, one blue for thrips and one yellow for mosquitoes and other insects. 13th Day: I decided to do the transplant today. You can see in the photos that the roots have already colonized part of the substrate, that characteristic white color of good roots. I placed Great White (mycorrhizae) in the hole where I will put the plant, and after the transplant, I watered for the first time with organic fertilizers.

BullWeedDog 16th Day: 3 days after transplanting the plants and watering them for the first time with rooting fertilizers, I'm now going to water them with their growth fertilizer. It looks like the plants have adapted very well to their new space; there's a noticeable difference in their size. The temperature and humidity conditions have changed drastically since we removed the water cube from the grow area and replaced it with a smaller one. Right now, we have a temperature of 29°C and a humidity of 20%. We've also applied the corresponding preventive treatment for the week. 17th Day: The plants are about 15cm tall, and the lower branches are very underdeveloped, so I've decided to open them up using the LST technique to encourage more growth in the branches. 19th Day: I've removed the ties I made due to the small size of the plants, although I've seen changes in the lower branches, which are much larger now. So, I’m just tying them back to continue their normal growth and to be able to apply an apical pruning later.

BullWeedDog Day 20: The plants continue to grow, they look wider with bigger leaves, some of the plants have stayed small in size while others are growing very well, but all with quite good development. Most of them have already reached the 7th node despite some being only 15cm tall. Day 23: After thinking about it a lot, I've decided to do the apical cut. Some plants still haven't reached a great size, but they have reached the 8th node. I also did a defoliation just on the fan leaves at the bottom up to the 3rd node. I hope for a quick recovery of the plants to do the final transplant into 18-liter pots. Day 25: The plants are growing very well with good development, I've decided to transplant them into pots. In some of the photos, you can see the root development they already have since this is the last transplant. I've also set up the scrog net; we'll see how it goes. Day 26: Some of the branches and leaves have already settled in. I've interwoven some branches that have found space in the net. I will also do the weekly preventive treatment with neem oil and potassium soap.

BullWeedDog Day 27: The plants keep growing, right now I'm giving them some time to recover from the transplant and I'll be doing the defoliation at the end of this week. I've removed some of the leaves from the lower part because they were touching the substrate and getting soaked when watering. Also waiting for all the branches to reach the net. Day 29: I've transplanted the last two plants, and now one of them has reached the top of the net; its root development is quite good. Day 30: I took this photo because despite the transplant and the stress I may have caused the plants, they keep growing day by day. Day 31: All the plants are now reaching the net, some branches are intertwining, and soon I'll carry out the defoliation. Day 33: Last day of the week, defoliation done. I think I may have gone a bit overboard with the amount of leaves I removed, but they were very large and were covering all the buds. Now I'll wait for their recovery and for all of them to surpass the net so I can switch to 12/12.

BullWeedDog Day 33: Previously, the plants looked a bit sad and wilted due to the heavy defoliation I did; but now you can see that their leaves look better, and you can even see the net much fuller than before. Day 35: Leaves a bit bigger, net a bit fuller, I've watered them with a large volume of water and now I'm waiting for the soil to dry out to improve the root system and ensure the plant has enough water and nutrients for its development. Day 37: There's noticeable vegetative growth in the branches, I've done a little defoliation at the bottom of the net where some leaves and lagging shoots were left uncut. Day 38: The plants continue to grow normally and very well, some leaves show discoloration at their tips which I don't know what it is. Day 39: Defoliation at the top to allow light to reach the lower area. Day 40: After the defoliation, a good watering with all its nutrients to help with development, even though only a day has passed, it looks good and very lively.

BullWeedDog Day 42: In just 2 days, you can see the huge growth in the plants. Some plants already have pistil presence while others don’t yet; I’ve removed some branches that didn’t grow and were below the net on two of the plants. I hope I didn’t stress them too much, it was only two branches per plant. I’ll use those branches to make some cuttings and see how it goes. Day 44: The plants are growing a lot every day. One of them looks like it’s going to stop growing and start developing flowers. The others keep growing; I hope they don’t grow too much this week. I’ve watered them with a good amount of water, 3 liters per plant. Three of these plants were still a bit damp, but to keep the watering schedule, I only watered them a little and will wait 3 days to see how they are.

BullWeedDog Day 48: beginning of the third week and those beautiful white pistils are starting to show, and the formation of the flowers begins. On one of them (Tropicanna Poison), you can see the calyxes are a bit purple. They keep growing; I hope they stop soon because I'm running out of space to raise the reflector. I also have one of the plants that has a mutation (polyploid). Day 49: it's noticeable that the tallest ones have slowed down their growth, which means they have stopped growing and will use their energy to produce flowers. The Tropicanna Poison shows a purple tone on one of the plants, while the other plant shows very similar growth but doesn't have the purple color. Day 52: some of the plants are still stretching, leaving me with no space to raise the reflector. There's more development of the flowers and many more pistils.

BullWeedDog Day 55: Those purple tones are really standing out more. The plants seem to have stopped growing, although they stretched a bit. Today I added a bud fattening agent. Day 58: Surprisingly, the plants keep stretching and getting closer to the reflector. I've stopped raising it to see if that helps them stop growing.

BullWeedDog Day 62: The plants are still developing the flowers, although their growth seems a bit slow. You can already see a good amount of trichomes on a large part of them. The temperature has dropped a bit since it's really cold outside, around 10°C, but I'm trying to keep them stable.

BullWeedDog Day 69: Plants are still in flowering, full of pistils and already with a large amount of immature and transparent trichomes; although I notice a stagnation in the growth of the plant, it could be caused by the cold or another factor, but the plants look healthy. Day 71: I noticed that the plants had a lot of vegetation, no light was reaching the lower part of the branches, and some small buds were turning yellow. I decided to take a risk and do a major defoliation only on the front plants, leaving the back ones untouched. This way, I can compare how the defoliation affected this stage. Day 72: After yesterday's defoliation, today I watered all the plants with their respective nutrients to ensure a good recovery.

BullWeedDog Day 77: the plants look normal but now there’s a lot more smell when opening the tent, but there’s no noticeable growth in the flowers; it seems like the growth of the flowers has stopped and the pistils are starting to turn a yellow color, which, although it sounds normal, worries me since the size of the flowers is still very small. Day 80: still, most of the plants don’t show significant growth in their flowers, only one of them has had such an increase in flower development that one of the branches is starting to bend under the weight (Tropicanna poison).

BullWeedDog Day 85: I haven't noticed a big change in the size of the flowers, I've checked the trichomes and they're still between milky and clear, although more milky now. From here on, I'll just give it one more week and start with the root flushing since all the pistils, or almost all, are amber in color.

BullWeedDog Day 91: the plants have stopped the growth of the flowers (Tropicanna Poison and one of the Sweet Zenzation), three other plants are still growing with their white pistils, it might be due to the little light they were getting. In the next watering, I will do a root wash on a few and continue watering the others normally. Day 95: I already started doing the root wash on 3 of the plants, I will do a staggered harvest to let the lower part of them mature a bit while the other plants are ready.

BullWeedDog Day 99: last day of watering the plants, you can really see the change in the color of the leaves, not enough to cut yet but I hope it's ready for its upcoming harvest.

BullWeedDog Plants with really eye-catching flowers, one of them with that dark purple color and another with purple tones that make it stand out because of its shiny layer of trichomes. The plant is quite vigorous; you always have to keep the height in mind, as it's a plant that stretches spectacularly. It should be fully tutored to achieve a good yield.

BullWeedDog The plant grew normally, despite the harvest time being a bit longer than the others, it developed much faster in the flowering stage than the rest. It was quite sensitive to the fertilizer, and having two of this same strain, they grew completely differently.

BullWeedDog Honestly, I expected a lot from this strain, but I still have to try it out. Let's see how it goes. I had this strain in the same cabinet with 3 other varieties from the same brand, and only with this one did I notice a significant delay in its growth. In my perception, it seems sensitive to pruning. It's a pretty short plant, and out of the 6 plants I had, only this one produced seeds in the flowers of the lowest part. They were pure leaves and also grew in a very strange way, as they were just curled leaves with a very light lemon color, which was where I had the most seeds. However, the upper part grew well. I don't know if it was a mistake on my part or if I just didn't know how to take care of this plant, but I'll have to try again.
