First Grow: 'Orla' Orange Bud (Auto)

Sep 29 (day 29): Start of week 5 and looking much taller! Decided to start LST as some new branches are growing and look big enough for it now. I am going to leave one plant of my four plants without LST so I could do a yield comparison at the end. As she is taller than the other plants when I started LST, I'm going to try and keep the canopy a bit higher. Its a difficult technique and whilst Ophelia and Wendy have responded SO well to it, the node sites and new branches get really congested so its very fiddly to try and separate them out. I'm hoping because she is taller, there will be more space between the node sites to make this easier. Time will tell. Sep 30 (day 30): She seems ok after the LST yesterday and is beginning to repoint her new branches towards the light. Struggling to know when to water. I used to water twice a week, but the pot doesn't feel light enough yet so I am paranoid of over watering. She is dry on top, but I used the water meter and if I push it all the way to the bottom of the pot it reads 'wet'. Everywhere else reads 'nor' or 'dry'. She isn't showing any signs of dehydration, so I will be cautious and not water. Oct 1 (day 31): All looks good and seeing the benefit of the LST now as she has adjusted well. Branches are getting bigger so I adjusted the LST. Oct 2 (day 32): Fed her with week 2 of the nutrient schedule at full dosage. As she has gone a week without water and seemed fine, I am upping the water to 2 litres. Oct 3 (day 33): Looking good and good growth overnight. I wanted to leave one of my four plants without LST so I could do a yield comparison at the end. However, I think I need to rethink this strategy as she shares a light with Wanda who is now taller without LST. The light height will become a problem now, as either Orla will be too far away from the light or Wanda will become too close and suffer from heat issues. I will need to LST Wanda tomorrow. Oct 4 (day 34): Doing a big round of LST on all the girls tonight. I undid her previous ties and bent her a little more. I then noticed she had a little split in the main stem where she was bending 😱 I read somewhere that you can duct tape a broken branch/stem and it will bond back together over a few weeks. Of course I can’t find any bloody duct tape, so improvised with micropore that you use to hold bandages in place. Worth a go, it’s flexible and breathable right?! 🤔 I taped up the stem which seemed to work well and stayed put! Let’s hope she is ok. Stress level: 7/10 😰 Oct 5 (day 35): End of week 5. So the bandage (micropore tape) stuck and is still in place. She has bounced back from the LST already and is pointing upwards again. Healthy green leaves too and some more growth on the branches and nodes. I mixed up a fish mix foliage spray 1ml into 500ml of water and gave her a spray. NOTE: Nutrient amount is the total amount of nutes given during the week.
