Doing great so far, only giving 50-60ml of RO water with 400ppm of CALiMAGic daily with some spraying to keep the top soil moist throughout the day.

Still moving ahead quickly, #2 has an interesting deformation going on but its almost like natural LST creating multiple tops so we will just let her go and see how she turns out. Increased ArmorSi to full strength but no other changes.

Still moving ahead vigorously, one plant has already shown pistils just waiting on #2 to pop. Did some light defoliation of some larger fan leaves and unnecessary older undergrowth before we go into flower officially. Not much else to report, probably start feeding lightly here in the next couple weeks of early flower.

Looking good so far, as you can see both plants have shown pistils now. Started feeding at about half doses to assist with the stretch into flower. Still moving along nicely, defoliated a solid amount of the leaves to get some better lighting on the underexposed tops.

All going great, full steam ahead. WC1 is already putting on some weight and they're getting more and more thirsty everyday it seems like. Also increased the feed to near full strength as we get into the more intense flowering.

Thats an ovary or ovule.. whatever... Female sex gamete compliment to pollen. No worries. pollen sacs extend from a twig and has no white hair-like projection. When mature they will open up and what looks like a ring of bananas will plop out... these dispense pollen. often refered to as "nanners"... will be yellow when mature. May also see "nanners" in buds by themselves or in a similar cluster.. The isolated ones are less risk than any cluster. Tweeze nanners out anytime you find 1... if only a single here or there, you'll be fine.. maybe find a couple seeds here or there but not a big deal..... a full pollen sac or cluster is more productive and is a big deal... one closter can potentiall pollenate entire area. Calyxes have no twig projection and have a white hair sticking out. This will never have pollen production. You may find an ovary at base of hairlike projection if you disect it.

Grown this strain before and had the same issue.. not sure if its a CalMag deficiency entirely. pH has remained at 6.0-6.5 or so in soil and didnt show signs until recently, seemed to have worsened after just two days of only CalMag and Ro water so I bumped up the bloom nutes.

After doing some research on VPD I believe I may have a to low of a VPD which is resulting in my "calcium deficiency".. after increasing my ppms of CalMag to around 500 and no improvements but got much worse I figured it had to be another issue. I found a few articles explaining how humidity is relative to calcium transport in the plant this may be the issue.. hopefully.

Having some issues with WC1 and Calcium.. initially thought I had a deficiency but even after increasing the doses of CALiMAGic and still no improvements I found a few articles relating Calcium transport and low VPD to potentially causing Calcium deficiency look alike issues which I believe is the case here. Increased the humidity and still giving a little extra CALiMAGic just for extra precaution. Other than that everything seems to being moving along nicely.

Still having problems with calcium in one way or another but I can figure out exactly what it is or how to fix it. My plants in my other tent have also begun to show signs of rust spots in the leaves. Other than the spots everything is great, buds look amazing and trichomes are sparkling.

Cal excess or Mag problem? My Blueberry and Wedding Cake Autos are now spotting in new and old growth. Even at 8ml/gal CALiMAGic for a couple weeks no improvements. feeding nutes with two days of just calmagic RO water in between with runoff about 0.5 gal daily in FFOF soil

You are experiencing potassium deficiency not cal mag issues. Potassium and phosphorus deficiency. They both have too much nitrogen in flowering as well. Nutrition burn on the one plant. In flowering your npk ratio is 1-2-3 for what your plant needs. Good luck and happy growing 🌱

Once again I think I've figured out my leaf issues but I'm not for sure.. I believe it may have had something to do with having Calimagic every time I watered including with the base nutrients. So I have been doing nutrients one day and Calimagic the next day. Leaf damaged has seemingly slowed and changing up the nutrient mix has helped as well. Buds are looking tasty cant wait.

Not a whole lot going on other than packing on the weight. Buds are growing daily, leaves are still slowly continuing with their issues but we are close to harvest and hopefully the end product isn't affected by the issues we've had. Looks and smells good though.

Started flushing both plants on 11/29, expect to harvest on the 11th or 12th of December. Trichomes are milky with ambering in WC1 so we are starting the flush on WC2 slightly early because we need the space to dry. Looking great though, very smelly and dense buds.

Only given RO water for the past week for WC2 although, WC1 has been flushing for two weeks so I think today will be their last day of watering and then chop them down due to a little unwanted foxtailing in WC2 and the light pulled back. Before chop theyll have a short period in the dark. Probably not going to have another update for a couple of weeks until the drying process is complete though. Both plants are purpling with WC1's being more intense, and the sparkling trichomes is beautiful stuff excited to try them.

The buds this round came out much nicer than the previous run. There are certainly some differences in the phenotypes between these two plants. Very consistent genetics producing quality buds, although I have noticed that these Wedding Cake Autos are quite hungry heading into flower so be prepared to keep up. My plants produced calyx dense buds that reek of the classic Wedding Cake tones of creamy sweet vanilla but they could have used more C02 to really bulk up some more but overall these did not disappoint. Did NOT get a wet weight so the 272 is the dry weight.

This run was amazing, produced the best buds I've ever grown. Well.. it being only my second grow, just looking to improve the quality each run and I did that this time. Made it past 1gram per watt this go around, so we past the yield expectations but Id still like to grow some better Wedding Cake one of these days. But this cake did not disappoint looking forward to the next one already.

i think the problem you keep having with these plants is rust fungus , its interesting how it keeps coming back in every grow you do , are you sanitising and cleaning everything, also is your humidity levels high ? anyway good grow
Sensivybez
Sensivybezcommented3 years ago
@ElevenSixty6, yeah , i could see from your diaries but the rust mold will only destroy the leaves not the bud, so even if you do get it , it will not effect the bud but just due to damaging the leaves it stunts the plants growth which in turn affects the yield. Iv also noticed on here many people that grew " barneys auto wedding cake" also had the same spots on the leaves, if not most of the grows except for a few that use coco coir (not sure if there is a link) but yeah i think it is something to do with the strain because your blueberry seem to come out fine. Anyway all the buds you grow seem to come out nice lol, but yeah just thought id share some insight as im facing the same issues
elevensixty6
elevensixty6commented3 years ago
@Sensivybez, you may be right.. I had always assumed the rust mold would rub off or spread into the buds such as mold/bud rot or something. I haven't noticed anything in the buds themselves but now that you mention it, it was a couple of weeks after I initially noticed the spots on the Wedding Cake Auto and then they started appearing in my other tent. Although those were photoperiod plants.. not that matters but they weren't the same. I'm not growing anything from Barney's this time so we will see what happens. Thanks for the info, keep me posted.

Sensivybezcommented3 years ago
@ElevenSixty6, i understand but i have had the same problem with the same "auto wedding cake" from barneys and it produced little orange rust spots on the leafs , once rubbed over within a few days the same abrassions appeared with the leaves turning red and yellow like fire and black spots in some places, this is the after effects of rust fungus, and my point is to confirm this is true in your case , the fact it keeps returning most of your grows during flowering?, because as far as im concerned your feeding looks normal to me , if your using a new medium you shoulnt have nutrient issues , all your buds come out looking fine to me , reason being as i have the exact same problem and its a coincidence that you were growing the exact same strain as me an have the same symptoms on your plant as mine. Right now all my leaves are pretty much dying as the bud develops. Also to note the orange spots are so small they are hard to see unless they get big , and then within a few days it burns the leaves so you may miss the first signs, anyway good luck with the C02, il keep you updated , but im 100 percent certain that is a form of fungus , as the same leaf problem comes back every grow since the auto barneys
