Got 1x BanDad Fem and 2x Black Jacks started in my tent, let's see how it goes. I ran this strain early back in January and had a stellar experience! This strain is coveted in my circle of people since then, and it surely won't disappoint this go around. Procedure: Popped her into a paper towel on the fifth. Tap root appeared on the 7th. Dropped her into soil on the 8th(yesterday) and so now here we are. She's about an inch and a half above the soil, primed and ready to begin! I'm planning on running her with the Terp Tea duo (bloom and grow). Awesome nutrients and I couldn't recommend them enough! The bags last extremely long and you can brew or just top feed directly on the soil.(Also need to mention, it's a great bang for your buck) I'll be starting her on this around week 2/3 of veg, depending on her growth. Cheers fellow growers, this should be a fun one 😆

She's right on track! Pretty fast too. Still feeding her plain water. Had to bin 2x Black Jacks because their taproot dried out when I planted them too shallow in the soil. A little sad about that, but I've got 2x Chem P(Ethos Auto) in their place :). No big deal.

Fed this girl a 1/4 tsp of Terp Tea grow to stop the lower leaf yellowing. Seems to have worked. She's growing really fast now, happiest in the tent. :) Earlier this week, she toppled over. So I had to give her some support. Other than that, no issues thus far. Update: 2 days after feeding and she's a glowing green beast! I'll top her soon and then it's time for the real fun! 😈

Great week, no problems so far! Fed her last week and I plan to do so again as soon as her soil dries out a bit. The Temps in the tent have been really warm as of late so they're all loving it! My chems, gelatos and this BanDad are really loving the tent. I can tell this will be a really painless grow. *knocks on wood* Grown it before and now I know what to be on the watch for as far as nute needs go. I noticed the yellowing did move to the leaves above the single-bladed set, so I hope I can get a feeding in before it progresses more. Cheers everyone! Loving the start of this holiday season 😁

Looks like she took longer to recover from topping than my ChemP.... Doesn't matter much since she's not an auto! Either way, she's back to growing. She'll become very efficient in the next week or two. I'm waiting for her indicator leaves(first set after cotyledon) to turn yellow before deciding to transplant her into recycled soil. Fun fact: I've been using the same batch of Pro-mix soil for the past three years on ALL of my soil plants. Lately, I've found that Roots organics terp tea duo seems to supplement depleted nutes perfectly. It also adds microbes to the soil - which is MUCH needed after flushing, if you plan to reuse the soil. At this point it feels more like coco 😆 Update: Got this fungi looking stuff on the topsoil, is that normal after feeding mykos? She still looks healthy enough. Cheers everyone, so excited for this little girl to perform. 😎🤑

She's doing great! About a week or so overdo for a transplant. I'll get around to it once I move both of my Chem plants over to the flower tent. She won't get too large in her little pot, I'll update this week as soon as I get her transplanted.

This plant is growing very vigorously now! Only thing holding her back from explosive growth now, is her tiny pot. So sometime this week, she'll be getting a transplant into her forever home. A 2.5 gallon fabric pot.

Still growing strong! Stem is getting extra rigid. Just topped her 6x so we should have 12x tops resulting from it. I'll check back in sometime this week to show progress. This is a great strain and always puts out awesome, high quality bud. Hope I can get a decent amount of clones to start a flower session ASAP.

One more round of topping and she'll be ready to mother! Going to tie her down a bunch to get the internodes up and active. I'll be pulling clones from her by the end of the week!

Alright, after last week's round of topping, she'll be at 40-60 tops! Monster of a plant! Never let a girl veg this long, so I'm really excited to see her in flower. Not too far off now! As soon as I see roots on the clones I've pulled, she's going right in! Cheers fellow growers 😎😄

She's coming along perfectly! Exactly what I'm looking for as far as canopy. I may top her 1 more round just to make sure she'll take off in flower. Still no roots on any of the clones I've plucked sadly. So I'll keep this plant in the tiny tent for longer. Also I've noticed her leaves are very light green so i may supplement feedings with Liquid Seaweed from BPN. I'll update the nutes if I do Update 12/27/21: Alright, game plan has changed. I decided I'll get her to fill out the 2x2 completely before moving her to flower. By the time she fills out the veg tent, I'll be harvesting the plants that would inhibit her personal space. On top of that, I can make sure to get the canopy as even as possible. I may even install a screen for a scrog on her side of the tent. Don't think I'll end up topping again, I literally can't even count the amount of tops she has currently LOL 😅. I fucking love this strain. I mean, seriously, you can't go wrong with how well it performs. Also, I think one of her clones has taken root! It's lower leaves are becoming extremely yellow, showing that it's been feeding. I can give a slight tug on the stem to see that it's definitely stable! All I need is one viable clone, and I've taken 5 off of her so far. It's been cold lately, getting the veg tent as low as 68 degrees fahrenheit. So it's taking a bit longer for my clones to root. 2-3 weeks since I plucked them from the plant. I could have avoided wasting any time by using a seedling warming mat, but there's no rush since I only need one. And it looks like I may just get that one sometime this week 😄 Cheers fellow growers! Hope your growing adventures have been nothing short of stellar! 💪😏

Alright! Got all these girls on compost tea and they're loving it now! Plucked another male Gelato from my flowering tent and now I have enough space for our beastly BanDad here :). So let's send her off into flower! Update 1/4/22: Alright, it seems all the other clones I've taken haven't rooted yet. So I'm going to try a tried and true method. A misting cloner! Took 6 cuttings, dipped them in clonex. Then I filled the reservoir with water and added hydroguard. pH'd the res. At 8+ so I used pH down until 6.0-6.2. This WILL work. I'm still going to let the other cuttings try and take root. If they don't root before these ones, however, they're getting tossed!

What can I say other that she's killing it! Think I'm doing well by this Banana Daddy plant tbh. Tapering off her grow nutrients and upping the bloom. Thinking about possibly relocating one of my ChemP girls to outside, since the season permits it. That would give my other girls plenty of space to do their business. The ChemPs are only 3 weeks away from harvest, so it wouldn't hurt.

Time for the fun part. Got her on the last bit of grow nutes. Then she'll be maxed out with 3 tsp of bloom until week 6 flower. She hasn't stretched much more from last week, so this may be it's final height. This girl is LOVING the compost tea I've been brewing up, I mean I've never seen the leaves such a vivid color of green. Sad that I've had the kit to make it for years but only just started now. I was a fool for growing organically and not finding the most efficient way to do so. My only question, is it normally supposed to smell like shit? I used 1 cup soil, 3 tsp terp tea bloom, 1 tsp terp tea grow, 5ml liquid seaweed, and 15ml unsulphered blackstrap molasses. I made a tea bag with cheese cloth for the dry ammendments and let the wet ammendments dissolve into the water. Just want to make sure it hasn't gone anaerobic or anything.

It's been extremely cold as of late, with the Temps dropping all the way to 13 Celsius at night... (and thats even with my heaters) but she couldn't care less. Very resilient towards cold Temps! On top of that, you can see a slight purple on all of the buds. Always loved this strain, this is my third attempt with it and I've got to say my favorite thus far. This pheno shows resistance traits and I'm glad I chose it as a mother because we tend to have some crazy Temps throughout there year, here in Cali. It's great to have a strain that's hardy on hand. Also, I've added another LED light into the tent to use with plants that are nearing the end of cycle. That's why the hue has a magenta tint in the background. Eventually, this girl will be getting that as supplemental light too. Cheers fellow growers! Hope all of your grows have been blessed 🙌

Beautiful progress with this girl. Can't really tell from pics, but some of her fan leaves are turning a purple tint, like her sugar leaves. Been feeding max strength compost tea with every watering, and she really enjoys it so far. Also, a little update on the clones I plucked from her a few weeks back. 6 of them successfully rooted, and now I'm hardening them off in the veg tent. 1 is already progressing onto vegetative growth. So her legacy continues :) Update 01/27/22: Her lower leaves are beginning to yellow and i see a nice mauve color spreading onto the fan leaves. I don't believe the leaves yellowing are a result of a deficiency or anything bad. She drinks at a fast rate, prays upwards first thing in the morning, and continues to stack her buds at a solid pace. And shes getting plenty of phosphorous, potassium and a bit of nitrogen as well. Shes getting fed blackstrap molasses with every feeding, which has a lot of calcium and magnesium. So after considering all of that, I think she'll just chug right along. As it's more likely just how this strain is. I remember my first run having a rather light-toned leaf coloration. Anyways, im starting to get a slight whiff of that infamous "purps" smell when I open the tent. It'll be hard to keep my head out of the tent come week 5, because I remember this strain being such a beauty. And I think I'm doing a better job with this run than my first. So I'm super stoked for the weeks to come. Cheers everyone 👍🏾

Wow, just look at the color on her! Seriously reminding me of the Early Lemon Berry girl I grew last year :o the smell is extremely sweet like grape 🍇 😋 So fucking excited for this girl!! No more veg nutes, full force flower nutes! Cutting off all nutes come week 6 because i want her to have a decent amount of time to fade. 1 more month, then we'll be really seeing this pheno's potential. Update: Holy shit, I'm so impressed by the grand daddy pheno I got here. It smells so good at week 4 flower! Harvest is week 8-9 and I couldn't be more excited :)

Alright, thanks to @JhindleHydro's advice here, I've gotten some hygrozyme and hyshield to try out on this girl - and other plants as well. Appreciate the help, growmie! This is an 8-9 week strain and so I think she should be a bit further along than where she is currently. Not to say it doesn't smell good and look unique. So I'll be giving her some overdrive these last few weeks as well.

Since I started her on hygrozyme, hyshield and ph perfect, it's been nothing but smooth sailing! Such a relief because it seemed to stall last week. New white pistils, a noticeable chunk to the buds. I'm a happy camper now! I know I said I'd start this plant on overdrive last week, but we'll start this week instead. I'm blown away by this plant's color and smell. I mean it doesn't smell like the weed I'm used to. It's like fruit salad nested between a bed of flowers. Heavenly! Honestly, I know this plant won't be as much a yielder as I initially hoped. But the quality will surely make up for that. On top of that, we've got FIVE more banana dads to run, so I hope to get better and better with this strain in the months to come. Biggest mistake has to do with how little nutes I fed this plant whole cycle. I went the minimalist route, feeding mostly low-dose compost tea. Learned my lesson - to just use compost tea as a supplement with my grow style. Thanks again @JhindleHydro for pointing me in the right direction, you may have saved my plant, m8! Almost forgot to mention, I've added a 300w LED flower-spectrum board to help out in the flowering tent. It's no Mars Hydro - But it should do just fine as supplemental lighting.

Just wow 👌 The smell evolved overnight to a serious 🍇 grape type scent. I'm beyond excited that this'll be her last week or two. No more nutes from here on out. I may harvest this girl early as she's already in the window and showing plenty of milky trichs. I want to get her clones rolling. But I know if given one more week she'll really chunk up fat. So I'll try and be patient y'all! It's hard, as you could imagine rofl. Cheers everyone :)

What a fun experience! This was my first time trying a mixed grow style of synthetics and organic. I think I may have found my new go-to strategy. This definitely wasn't a perfect run by any means - as a matter of fact, I botched the feedings earlier in her life. However this grow definitely taught me a lot more about how to treat this strain properly. Now I'm running her clones in the 3x3x6. So the legacy will continue! Let's see how this strain does during the summer months! Cheers everyone! This has been an awesome grow. What I'm lacking in yield, I yet again make up for in quality. And I don't think yield will be an issue with the clones, they're week 6 veg - and quite massive! - RWI out!! 😁 😶‍🌫️🤑
