June 7th all three seeds were far enough in germination that they were planted into their final bags today. The soil was pre-soaked with regular water the prior June the 6th.
Tangerine Dream was the furthest along in with its tap root. Unfortunately I forgot to take picture of this whole process. I also accidentally dropped this seed on the floor when moving it to the pot. The day was 27 and no clouds with 40-50% RH
Cherry Bud is the porridge that was just right.
Sucker punch was just splitting open and showing her taproot when I planted her with the test. So was by far the slowest of the bunch.
I initially put the pots in the sun with humidity bags, but quickly removed them after I checked ones RH and temp and saw it was kinda high. Figured, just let the little girls grow.
June 8th Raining off and on, since I pre-soaked the soil and knew it was going to rain I decided to move all three plants in to the poly greenhouse we got for them just to help them from crazy fluctuations in Dutch weather and to control water. The sides were lifted to allow the wind to pass through all the bags and air the soil. The day was in the low 20s and 60-80% RH.
June 9th All three girls are showing their shells breaking through the medium. By 2100 all three plants were clearly visible and working hard. The day was in the low to mid 20s and 60-80% RH.
June 10th Sucker punch is already showing her first two fan blades over the other two ladies. Their Cotyledons are opening up. By the end of the days Tangerine Dream looked like a classic seedling. Cotyledons open with 2 fan leaves coming out. Sucker Punch looks the same as Tangerine Dream. Cherry bud is still to fully open up, she will be like the others by morning. The day was low to mid 20, cloudy, 40-60% RH. The night got cold, to the point I was nervous 12-13. Placed plants in greenhouse and zipped it up to keep some temp. Also to keep the wind off them since the wind chill could have dropped the temp further.
June 11th Cherry Bud has opened up but a cotyledon is drooping and both the fan leaves are curling up. I am chalking this up to the crazy weather the poor thing had to suffer. The rest of the week is looking about 10-13. The day has been in the low 20s. I places all three girls in the sun first thing in the morning and let them try to soak up as much as possible after that night. The morning has had clouds off and on but the afternoon and evening have been nice direct light. I placed all three in the greenhouse while it’s getting direct sun for the night ahead a bucket with water is in to keep humidity. Currently its in the high 30s with 45-60% RH. The Cherry Bud looks like she is slower. The Tangerine is getting along nice. The Sucker looks to be stretching, I’ll know for sure tomorrow. Judging by the soil, I will have to give their first watering tomorrow or the day after.
