So after 5 months these girls are finally hanging. And given the problems and mistakes that happened it was no surprise that they threw one last curveball the day before harvest. I was inspecting with my magnifying glass and spotted a strand of spider web. One single strand but it wrapped all the way around the bud. This freaked me out and I spent the next 2hrs looking at every nook and cranny on every bud. I found 3/4 more of the same thing. I assumed spider mites but I couldn’t find any evidence. I decided to give the buds a washing and did the 4 bucket process w/ lemon juice+baking soda in one, peroxide in 2, and plain water in 3&4. I really liked the way the washing turned out. I found a single wolf spider but no sign of mites. I didn’t weigh but based on the yield off the first plant, I can say these 2 should yield around 4oz total….minimum. I’ll report back with a dry yield and smoke report.

So it’s day 18 and they look healthy. The strain is supposed to be short and stocky, but I’m wondering if they are up to par. How do they look to everyone? Also, I’m afraid to train b/c they’re so compact....they are loaded w/ nodes. Gimme some reactions..thx

Everything looks right on par lol sorry bad lighting joke. But all jokes aside she looks good and you seem to have a god hang of what your supposed to do. I would start lst now if you know genetically she is going to be short and stocky so you can maximize the yield from her. Keep up the great work friend!

What do you think is causing the bright yellow tips on one of the top leaves?? It’s very concentrated and looks like the tip was barely dipped in yellow paint. Do these two plants, at their current size, have the potential to kick off an ounce or two ? Thanks to all that reply

Looks indeed like a slight nute burn but also a developing clawing of the leaves which states you have a starting nitrogen toxicity. Up the phospor and potassium (cal/mag if you didn't gave already) and keep a close eye out for the clawing and nuteburn. Good luck, should be doing fine after adjustments!

Some have said nute burn was causing the yellow tips, but I’ve only fed water so far. My soil is FFOF, which is amended. Maybe the soil is too hot?? They are growing and look decent to me. Pics are today which is day 28 from sprout...what does everyone think?

Hey buddy! I wouldn't worry too much about the funny leaves. I use Fox Farm Soil and fertilizers exclusively and here is what I think: Over the last 6 mos, I have had 2 batches of FFOF and one of FFSF that came WAY hot. Burned plants for the first time in the many years I have been using it. I suspect that like all organizations, FoxFarm was effected by Covid. Maybe QC isn't up to par for a minute... Hope they fix it soon! You can mix some more Dolomite Lime into your hot bag of soil to act as a buffer. There is supposed to be Dolomite present already, but it will help to add a bit. My last Cherry Sumo had C-shaped leaves all through flower, but put out a great harvest of the finest smoke to come out of my garden in a minute. The hot soil should sort itself out over time. I would just pretend it wasn't there :P Happy Harvests bro they are looking fantastic!

Just light nothing major just hold back on the nutes since it’s a auto flower. I ran my auto in hhof by itself and it did good. Only nutes I would say add will be bloom nutes when you get to that time. Good luck

Im not saying theres any major issue here.. but FFOF is hot ass soil - then adding amendments on top of that in the first 30 days is a lot of excess nutrients in my opinion, and this is an auto so it can be more sensitive to nutes. There is some slight nutrient burn on the tips - nothing too concerning. I would let it ride with straight water for a week or so.. then asses the situation. You'll be good tho

For the record I have not added any nutrients...just plain water. Any nute burn would have to be from the soil being a bit hot. I did introduce a less than recommended dose of fish sh!t to the last watering.

hi there Bullmark, Fishshit is basically kelp extract right? so this will contain quite concentrated doses of N as well as some kinds of stimulants for "rhizosphere" microbes. Meaning it's good for the vegetative stage but it can cause things like a rising soil pH and undesirable root zone microbes over time. The truth is, you're still doing well, the burnt tips are not serious at all, the root zone issues neither, just keep doing what you're doing and avoid more feeds, nothing you can do about the amended soil, and like i said, it's not a big deal at all. In about 2 weeks or so you can consider adding more nutrients, but until then, put her in cruise control and just ride it out watering exactly like you've been doing which is totally fine. hope this helps ! 🚀

33days since sprouting. Began flowering about a week ago. So far Ive added just water and tiny doses of fish sh!t & cal mag. The soil has to be close to being depleted of nutes. Should I start with a low dose of liquids or top dress with time release powder?? Or wait longer

Personally I would start feeding at 1/4 strength liquid nutes from now, start at the early bloom stage on the brands schedule. As for slow release powder nutes I'm not a great fan of them with cannabis plants, they good for other plants but I find it better to give the plant what it wants when it wants.

Hey there Bullmark, i see you think the soil is "almost depleted" but it's far from it. first off you've actually been feeding, seems like too little but then again, it's soil, so it doesnt need much. Second the plant is doing well, you dont need to worry about nutrition until you hit flower. I use top feed dry nutes, i like that system better because you can measure out the nutrients quickly and cleanly. But in your case i would go for liquids just because it's easier to figure out . I would wait longer, the get flowering nutrients, calmag, and humic acid as an additive. folks are surprised what a huge difference the right nutrients at the right time can make. Hope this helps 🚀

Time release nutes are not a great option for cannabis. You should be adding some nutrition. Higher potassium and phosphorus levels are required in flowering for a better product. Good luck and happy growing 🌱

Guess my harvest over/under.. for fun let me know whether you think my take on these 3 gals will be Over or Under 1.75oz dry cured weight. For the record, they are in FFOF 100%..for the last couple weeks been adding very light nutes..320W LED, about 4 weeks to go.

Even though you have some way to go yet I see plenty of pistils on each plant so your going to have a good amount of bud. Weight wise, one on left is capable of hitting your 1.75oz target, middle one prob 1 oz, right one similar to what your left one does. If your target is 1.75 oz for the grow in total then your going to smash that.

Ok so this may be a dumb ?, but my only method for measuring ph is with my pen...I make sure the watering/feeding is correct, and I’ve measured runoff, although I’m told by smart folks not to water to runoff and it’s ph tells me nothing...So, how do I know the Ph?

Hello, The PH need to be checked on your water after adding your nutrients, now you water your plant and also check the PH from the drained water(i dont do this all the time, but from time to time or after transplant) by this for example you know that your water with nutrients had 6.0 PH for example, and the water drained had 5.5, now you know that the next water you can give is a 6.5 ph to increase the soils ph as the soil is getting a bit more acid, i also recomend to check from time to time the ppm with a tds meter from the water drained, by this you know if there are too much salt in your soil

I'm not sure about these smart folks but I am guessing they are talking about organic soil which is way different then coco. From what I understand is you always want a little bit of runoff with coco to avoid salt buildup's which can cause nutrient lockout. As for PH they are correct. What you do want to keep an eye on is the EC/PPM of what you have going in to the EC/PPM going out to have an idea of how much she is eating and if you should increase/decrease nutrients. Remember EC in mixes with the current EC in the coco and then exits. So if you put .600 ec in for 2 weeks then increase the feeding to .1000 your ec out will gradually get to 1000 after several feeds and not right away. Here is a copy and paste from a web site: Although it is critical to adjust the pH of the inflow, you should not be concerned with the pH of the run-off water. Your only concern with pH is always providing nutrient solution (inflow) that is in the appropriate range. Many growers make the bad decision to provide nutrient solution that is outside of the acceptable range in a misguided attempt to correct run-off pH values. This can destabilize the pH of the nutrient solution in the root zone and make nutrients unavailable. To avoid this common pitfall, simply ignore the pH of the run-off.

Keep feeding. No need to start flushing until buds look almost ready and at that point you're probably still looking at 7-14 days from chopping - plenty of time to flush. They really take longer than you think to finish up and change from translucent to cloudy and amber. 😁🌱👍

I would flush, feed for another few weeks, then do the final flush. If you are getting new white pistils that tells me new calyxes are growing, and who doesnt want chunkier buds. When you scout for trichomes make sure your not checking the newest growth if calyxes keep stacking or you notice foxtailing. They are looking very nice so far, so I'm sure the harvest will be fantastic 👍

First off reading your weekly descriptions and you are saying how the plant is taking 2 weeks to show 2 days worth of growth I decided to take a look back further into your diary to try and help. I saw a few things I could point out that will hopefully help you if not this grow but the next. First off cannabis plants love heat and humidity, it is the buds that hate it. Looking at your temps all the way through, they are definitely on the cooler side. Both lights on and lights off, though these are Autos but the same rules will apply. In veg we want to look for low 80's with lights on and no more than 9 degrees less, with lights off. In flower, we like to dial that down slightly from Mid to high 70's and after weeks 4-6 of flower we begin to allow for more than 10 degrees less with lights off. I could definitely say you're growth is stunted because of colder temps. Secondly, there are no environmental stresses to signal these plants that they need to start finishing up. You have a very tight temp gap all the way through. Without being out in the real world and experiencing the ending of the season we want to manipulate the plants into thinking that is happening. This is what I was talking about when I was speaking of opening up the temp gaps post weeks 4-6 of flower. Also 30 inches for that wattage of LED is really far. Which is going to greatly reduce the amount of PAR your plants are getting and being able to use for photosynthisis. At this stage we want to be simulating cloud cover with light deprivation. But I have noticed the distace to light has been far for the entire grow. If you don't have them already I highly recommend a PAR meter and a Therm gun to read the tops of your plants and fully utilize your lights potentials. Happy growing, Please check out my 200 LED Light 7000 Plants Diary and follow me. If I can help with any questions you may message me any time!
