These girls are officially one week old today. They popped out and had lids removed on June 1st so that what we are counting as day 1. The first one to pop out actually is looking a little runtier than the other but we will see how it all shakes out! Again just following autoflower 101 so no transplanting and no heavy duty training just LST and possibly slight defoliation here and there later on. They’re just getting plain phd water around the plant no saturating yet for another couples weeks when they take off. This is my first go at auto flowers so I’m interested to see how it goes. Hopefully I get similar results to my previous run with photos in an even shorter time period!
Been a rough week for the girls! It’s been hot as hell in my garage during the day leading the tent temperature to skyrocket and the girls are not super happy as a result. These two are however doing better than the OGs as both are lush green and growing strong considering the crappy environment. Also had a gnat issue that popped up too which I’m sure didn’t help matters. I think they’re gone now so it seems like the sticky traps did their job. Hopefully will start LST next week if they look healthy enough gonna let them rebound a bit first. Although I’m not sure the hot weather is going away anytime soon so that may continue to be a problem the whole grow. Anyway 8-10 weeks left I guess... it’ll be crazy if it’s that fast!! My last grow flowered 11-12 weeks plus 5 of veg so you do the math! If results are comparable I’ll be a convert for sure!
These girls finally got a break from bad weather and the gnats so they’re doing great now! We began training this week and they’re really starting to take off growth wise. Compared to the OGs (also occupying the tent) I would say these girls are doing the best so far as both look healthy and haven’t had any issues despite subpar conditions early in the grow. Game plan moving forward is to start low dose of nutrients this week and just stay on top of training.
These girls have been coasting along just fine this whole grow! Both plants are practically twins, they’re on the same pace so far and everything is looking good. A good amount of growth this week, even had first pistils appear so they’re heading into flower/stretch here soon, which means even more explosive growth to come in the next week or two. Staying on top of training and started nutes as well other than that not much to report this week. Gearing up for flower time soon!!!
Flowering stretch is underway! Trying to keep them bushy so training continues as well. They’re looking healthy despite the heatwave over the last few days. Both girls just doing their thing! Be back next week hopefully stretch will almost be complete and buds will be starting to form.
Hot as hell this week but ladies are going strong despite it being so hot!! Both started stretching big time this week. They are really bushy with many tops due to the training. One of them is literally perfect flat and bushy hoping she stays like that so I get lots of big tops! I’m sure they’ll stretch a bit more for the next week or two and start packing on buds as well. Time to sit back and watch the flowers grow!!
These girls are still cruising along despite the heat they’ve had to endure. They didn’t stretch as much as I thought they would but nodes are pretty tightly spaced so may be in for some fat buds. They are already starting to get frosty as hell. It’s not obvious in the pictures, but there are sugary stems on these girls so soon so can’t imagine how buds will look. Girl Scout Cookies is one of my ffavorite strains from dispensaries so hoping mine will be up to par! Should be fatter and frostier next update!!
These ladies are coming along nicely. A lot of flowers popping up and getting fatter by the day! They are also looking frosty as hell already and I am pretty sure we have a few weeks left at least so hopefully they continue doing what they’re doing and I’ll end up with some super frosty nugs when harvest rolls around. Trimmed a bit more this week too. Other than that just planning on watching these girls fatten up over the next few weeks. Will keep you posted...
Not a whole lot to report this week. They’re definitely mid-flower and getting fat and frosty as hell. Especially compared to the OGs also in the tent. Buds are looking dense and just bulking up hopefully for the next couple weeks they’ll continue and soon we will harvest. #1 looks a bit ahead of #2 more red hairs etc so will see how it goes guessing she’s coming down first. Maybe only 1-2 more nutrient feeds then starting flush as well. So that’s the plan moving forward...will post again in a week.
Still hot as hell. Is summer almost over yet or what!? My plants still doing well despite it all but I’m imagining what they could’ve done under ideal conditions. Either way I don’t think I will be disappointed in the GSCs. Both look quite frosty and nugs appear dense and stinky. Looking forward to cutting them down soon, I’ve been checking trichomes and starting to see some ambers already so they got only plain water this week and it’ll be that way until they get the chop next week or so. Compared to the OGs I think these girls look/are better in general, the buds look denser and frostier as well and these girls gave me no problems whatsoever can’t say the same for the WCOG. Anyway just going to keep flushing should have maybe one more post then harvest time unless they finish sooner. Everything has been even faster than expected so I can’t really call it but the end is definitely near!
Cut down the ladies this week. They went about 75-76 days and were definitely ready to go. Trying two different drying methods, hanging #2 and drying #1 in bags. Got some extremely frosty looking buds off of here so really excited to try this stuff out! I think GSC may have yielded more than the OGs. I will have weights next week or so and I will post results then!
Girl Scout Cookies came out fantastic! Both plants yielded almost identical 44 grams which is a bit less than I thought but under the circumstances I’m pretty happy. The buds cane out great, they are very dense and frosty. High is strong with these girls so I would say nighttime smoke as it is pretty heavy. Really pleased with these will grow them again soon! Next time will hopefully get bigger plants/yield and avoid all the heat/pest issues as well. For as imperfect as this grow was they performed absolutely great!!
Overall this strain performed very well considering growing environment was less than ideal with heat and gnats etc. Even with those problems (temps regularly hitting 90 in the tent) they gave me no issues whatsoever. They never slowed down, looked weak/stunted, and by the end they had fat frosty nuggets weighing down the branches. About 44 grams each so I’m not too unhappy, although compared to my run with photo period plants I yielded about 2/3 total (I got 97 off 1 plant last round). But I did cut about 5-6 weeks off and I think I got danker buds this round too so may end up being a quality over quantity kind of deal. Anyway I am really happy with these girls they were a breeze to grow and I will grow some more GSC from FastBuds in the future for sure! Hopefully with more experience with autos and better environment etc I can bring up those yield #’s. I am about to pop FastBuds Gorilla Glue next round so we will see!!
@Quexos totally agree with everything you said bro especially the timing for running both I think you’re spot on that I should start autos a couple weeks the start photos in order to have autos finish in time for light switch for the photos. Worst case scenario the autos get 12/12 for a couple weeks which I don’t think is ideal but I don’t think it’ll fuck them up too bad either. Hopefully I can avoid having to find out lol. Stay tuned my friend I’ll have them up and running next week may not have any good pictures then but seeds will definitely be in the ground next week!!
@TreeTent310, Yeah, you are like me. I have my grows lined up a few down the road. It takes so long to go through a grow cycle, you get bored. Google Calendar!
I looked up that Black Jack strain.
I really want to see that one grow! Some of the grow pictures show really blue/purple buds! This would be perfect for a winter grow when your grow room is in the high 60s.
I've only grown the 1 auto. I am going to have to grow a few more before I make any real judgments. I really liked some of the Seedsman autos. (Onyx, Sour Diesel Haze) So far I like growing photos because I have so much more control.
I don't know about growing the two together. I'd have to put that on a calendar to see how it would work. I suppose you would start the auto, then start the photo when the auto is in mid flower. Otherwise you will have this really long veg period.
@Quexos, if I am honest I do kind of miss it! My doctor's rec just expired this month and I am considering renewing just in case I want to go I will still have the option! I am with you it is so surreal to go in there and pickup all sorts of goodies. It took me a good year or so of going for it to feel "normal". BUT they raised prices/taxes beginning of this year (legalization) and for the amount I smoke was getting hard to justify the budget to the wife haha. That was actually what started on me on the road to growing. I looked into it and figured i could produce enough for myself if I tried. My first run ended up with about 10 ounces that I am still working my way through now. I even gave some to friends/family as well. I agree though having only 3 strains to choose from can get stale/boring. Variety is the spice of life as they say!!
@TreeTent310 I still go to the dispensaries. I like to have a lot of variety. Once I've completed a few more grows, I should be more self-sustainable.
I also like going to dispensaries because it's like a bucket list thing. I'm an old guy. The idea that I can walk into a store and buy nice bud is like a dream come true! The first few times I bought herb in Colorado, I was so paranoid. I thought for sure I was going to jail.
@ChefGreenThumbGardenofWeedin, I do think it helps for the curing to not totally fill your jars for sure! I usually do about 1/2-2/3 full for the curing, mainly just to avoid any potential for bud rot by over filling them or having them too tightly packed while they’re still moist. Once these are truly cured (probably end of this week) I’ll put them in one full jar for each plant with a Boveda pack to keep them fresh. I’d say 2/3 full is a good benchmark and like the absolute max I would fill during curing at least.
@Sgtoso, thanks stay tuned I should have harvest results in the next few weeks. So far I have to say I’d definitely recommend FastBuds they’ve been a breeze even in less than perfect conditions (heatwave). Have had really easy time with this grow all things considered. Just hoping I get couple O’s per plant and I’ll be completely sold!
@Quexos, thank my friend! They’re coming along quite nicely at this point! Still a few weeks yet though but they seem like they’re on the right track and a good pace so I’m excited to see what the next couple weeks will bring!
@B4niTa, thanks a lot! Just checked your grow out looking great. Hope mine are similar in a few weeks time! Your LST work seems to have done its job well. Now you just get to sit back and watch your work pay off with some fatty buds!!
@Fast_Buds, thanks guys really looking forward to seeing how this grow turns out. I’ve seen many others singing your praises so excited to try some out for myself! Thanks FastBuds!!
Excellent job in the sweltering heat! I like your version of LST. It didn't seem to stunt the plant at all. The auto I'm growing can reach a little over 3', but she is close to harvest and is only 10". I'm not sure how the stunted growth will affect the harvest.
