Strawberry Cough (Biobizz Organic Soil)

WEEK  1 -  7/12/2021 - 14/12/2021 It was exactly 2 years ago I started growing and this will be my 7th grow! Crazy how time flies. Hope this grow would be a satisfying one.🙂 3/12/2021 - 5 seeds soaked in filtered water for 24 hours. 4/12/2021 - All 5 seeds sunken to the bottom of the cup. Transferred wet paper towel until seeds germinate. 7/12/2021 - all 5 seeds germinated. Transplanted the seeds to 16oz party cup filled with Biobizz light mix organic soil . Prior to that I sprinkled a bit of great white mycorrhizae. Water ph filtered unpHed water. So far off to a great start!🙂 9/12/2021 - 1L of water mixed with 4ml of Root Juice, 2ml Bio Heaven and 2ml Acti Vera. Each cup watered with 30ml. Light height and dimmer adjusted so that the PPFD is at 300. The girls are looking great! 12/12/2021 - added 0.5ml/l of Hydroguard as well to the usual root juice, bio heaven and activera. Each cup watered with 30ml. Oh man...i didn't realize how much missed looking at healthy plants 🙂 . The girls are doing fantastic and responding well to the supplements. I would like to think it's the great white mycorrhizae that's helping with the stable growth. 14/12/2021 - First leaves have fully formed and 3 finger leaves are starting to show as well. The first leaves seem to appear wavy. I'm guessing cal def. Had the same issue with my first grow in soil as well due to using filtered water. I shall add cal mag for my next feeding.

WEEK 2 - 15/12/2021 - 21/12/2021 15/12/2021 - 1 litre if water mixed with the following : Calmag - 0.5ml/l - 0.5ml Bioheaven - 2ml/l - 2ml Acti Vera - 2ml/l - 2ml Hydroguard - 0.5ml/l - 0.5ml 17/12/2021 - I'll be going away for 2 days. Did plain watering today to keep the soil moist until I come back. Please be good little ones. If you are , ill transplant you girls to bigger pots.🙂 19/12/2021 - The plants are looking great! Feeding done with 1 litre if water mixed with the following : Calmag - 0.5ml/l - 0.5ml Fish Mix - 1ml/L - 1ml Bioheaven - 2ml/l - 2ml Acti Vera - 2ml/l - 2ml Hydroguard - 0.5ml/l - 0.5ml 21/12/2021 - 4th node have started appearing. I should be transplanting in few days time. Just waiting for my soil and fabric pot order to arrive. Another fertigation done with similar dose to 2 days ago. I should probably top after transplanting.

WEEK 3 - 22/12/2021 - 28/12/2021 26/12/2021 - It has been a slow week. The leaves were showing multiple nutrient issues. I have been taking this grow rather laid back thinking the soil would do most of the work and didn't bother checking the pH. When I finally did yesterday, after mixing nutrient, the pH was at 5.4. Biobizz recommends the pH to be at 6.2-6.4. I wouldn't say the plants are stunted. Just a little slow growth with tip of leaves curling down. I am still waiting for my soil to arrive for transplant. Such bad timing being close to Christmas. Just ordered Biobizz pH up as well. Sigh.. Should have ordered it earlier. 27/12/2021 - I got this self draining pot saucer from Amazon and attached it PVC piping to serve as automated drainage. Did an awesome job if I might say so myself.😉 28/12/2021 - Biobizz Allmix soil arrived today! Four 5 gallon pots filled with approximately 25L of soil and drenched with filtered water. 4 plants in party cup selected for transplant. I removed the 1st and 2nd nodes so that I can plant it deeper in the final pot. They kinda stretched a bit earlier and seem a bit lanky. Topping not done yet to allow the plants to recover from the transplant stress. Great White Mycorrhizae sprinkled prior to transplant.

WEEK  4 - 29/12/2021 - 4/1/2022 31/12/2021 - Looks like the girls are tolerating well to the transplant! Topping done for all plants above the 3rd node. Symptomatic leaves removed as well. 5 gallons of water mixed with the following: Cal Mag - 0.5ml/L - 9.5ml Bioheaven - 2ml/L - 38ml Acti-Vera - 2ml/L - 38ml pH - 6.33 EC - 0.19 I added more hydroton clay pebbles above the soil to prevent algae growth and other pests. Completed my automated watering system and seems to be working well. I hope Biobizz nutrient doesn't clog it up. 3/1/2022 - Each plant watered with 2L mixed with the following: 8L water: Cal Mag - 0.5ml/L - 4ml Bioheaven - 2ml/L - 8ml Acti-Vera - 2ml/L - 8ml pH - 6.3 EC - 0.19 Average tent temp is 26C and RH at 60.

WEEK 5 - 5/1/2022 - 11/1/2022 6/1/2022 - 5 gallons of water mixed with the following: Cal Mag - 0.5ml/L - 9.5ml Bioheaven - 2ml/L - 38ml Acti-Vera - 2ml/L - 38ml pH - 6.4 EC - 0.24 Second topping done. The recovery period takes significantly longer compared to hydro after every high stress training. Now I miss growing in hydro.🙂 Perhaps its a good idea for 8 colas mainlining rather than 16 as it will take even longer veg period. So far after experimenting with soil, DWC, coco and RDWC, I'd have to say that growing in coco fits my needs perfectly. Faster growth, faster recovery after training, massive yields and easier to correct any nutrient issues. With my current set up of automated watering and drainage, coco with high frequency fertigation would be ideal. And I can still grow organically in coco with Biobizz nutrient. Previous grow in coco I was hand watering most of the grow because Autopot was causing frequent lockout. 9/1/2022 - 5 gallons of water mixed with the following: Cal Mag - 0.5ml/L - 9.5ml Bioheaven - 2ml/L - 38ml Acti-Vera - 2ml/L - 38ml pH - 6.3 EC - 0.2 11/1/2021 - 3rd and final topping done!

WEEK 6 - 12/1/2022 - 18/1/2022 12/1/2022 - 10 litres of water mixed with the following: Cal Mag - 0.5ml/L - 5ml Fish Mix - 1ml/L - 10ml Bioheaven - 2ml/L - 20ml Acti-Vera - 2ml/L - 20ml pH - 6.38 EC - 0.64 They are growing sooo sloow...I just forgot that growing in soil the training recovery period is significantly longer than hydro/coco. 15/1/2022 - 10 litres of water mixed with the following: Cal Mag - 0.5ml/L - 5ml Fish Mix - 1ml/L - 10ml Bioheaven - 2ml/L - 20ml Acti-Vera - 2ml/L - 20ml pH - 6.38 EC - 0.64 18/1/2022 - 15/1/2022 - 10 litres of water mixed with the following: Cal Mag - 0.5ml/L - 5ml Fish Mix - 1ml/L - 10ml Bioheaven - 2ml/L - 20ml Acti-Vera - 2ml/L - 20ml pH - 6.38 EC - 0.64 All 4 plants LST readjusted and supercropped. And of course I had to accidentally break one of the branch. Hopefully they recover fast as I'm planning to flip to 12/12 by the end of week 7.

WEEK 7 - 19/1/2022 - 25/1/2022 21/1/2022 - I'll be going away for few the next few days and hoping the automated watering system works well. 23/1/2022 - Did my first long distance watering with my irrigation system thats connected to a water pump to a smart plug. About 11 minutes to empty 15L of plain water. Worked out great!🙂 25/1/2022 - Finally the girls are looking like proper cannabis plants. LST and supercropping done to space the colas a bit. So 3 more days for the girls to recover from training, then I'll flip to 12/12. Oh yes, 36 hours of darkness prior to flip to send a strong signals for all 4 plants to start flowering at the same time. 15 litres of water mixed with the following: Cal Mag - 0.5ml/L - 7.5ml Fish Mix - 1ml/L - 15ml Bioheaven - 2ml/L - 30ml Acti-Vera - 2ml/L - 30ml pH - 6.32 EC - 0.71

WEEK 8 - 26/1/2022 - 1/2/2022 27/1/2022 - The older and new leaves are showing interveinal chlorosis. I suspect its because of magnesium deficiency as I have been maintaining the pH at 6.2 to 6.3 as recommended by Biobizz. Its on the low side for mag absorption. Also I have been giving only 0.5 ml/L of cal mag with every feeding. So it could be due to underfeeding as well. For tomorrow's feeding, I'll raise the cal mag to 1.5ml/L and increase the pH to 6.5. 28/1/2022 - 15 litres of water mixed with the following: Cal Mag - 1.5ml/L - 23ml Fish Mix - 1ml/L - 15ml Bioheaven - 2ml/L - 30ml Acti-Vera - 2ml/L - 30ml pH - 6.5 EC - 0.80 36 hours of darkness starts at 00.00 (29/1/2022) and ends on 12.00 (30/1/2022) then followed by 12/12 flip. Finally!🙂 30/1/2022 - Day 1 of flowering! The girls have grown quite a bit but they are showing leaf tips bending down and slight tip burn. Could be nitrogen toxicity. I should omit fish mix on the next watering. 31/1/2022 - I decided to only add cal mag and Alg A mic hoping it could help with the nitrogen toxicity. 5 gal (19L) of water mixed with the following: Cal Mag - 1ml/L - 19ml Alg A Mic - 1ml/L - 19ml pH - 6.38 EC - 0.22 Minor defoliation done.

WEEK 9 - 2/2/2022 - 8/2/2022 3/2/2022 - 5 gal (~20L) of water mixed with the following: Cal Mag - 1ml/L - 20ml Alg A Mic - 1ml/L - 20ml Bioheaven - 2ml/L - 40ml Acti-Vera - 2ml/L - 40ml pH - 6.43 EC - 0.55 The girls are stretching slowly. Not the typical sativa stretch I've experienced with Harlequin or Moby Dick. Stigmas are not evident yet. But the newer leaves appear to be healthy. LST readjusted and supercropping done for the taller branches. 6/2/2022 - I have decided to reintroduce Fish Mix into the nutrient mix after omitting it for about 1 week. I am also starting weekly Chitosan supplementation which comprises of crustacean shell and is supposed to help with plant immunity and as pest preventive measure. 5 gal (~20L) of water mixed with the following: Cal Mag - 1ml/L - 20ml Alg A Mic - 1ml/L - 20ml Fish Mix - 1ml/L - 20ml Bioheaven - 2ml/L - 40ml Acti-Vera - 2ml/L - 40ml Chitosan Oligosaccharide - 1ml/L - 20ml pH - 6.39 EC - 0.78 8/2/2022 - The girls are looking great! Still the stretch is not too intense. I have not adjusted the light height for about 2 weeks now. Right now the top most canopy is getting about 500-600 PPFD with 70% light intensity. Once they finish their stretch, I'll go full 100% intensity and at 6 inch recommended height. Stigmas have started appearing for all 4 plants!

WEEK 10 - 9/2/2022 - 15/2/2022 9/2/2022 - 5 gal (~20L) of water mixed with the following: Cal Mag - 1ml/L - 20ml Fish Mix - 1ml/L - 20ml Bio-Bloom - 1ml/L - 20ml Top-Max - 1ml/L - 20ml Bioheaven - 2ml/L - 40ml Acti-Vera - 2ml/L - 40ml pH - 6.33 EC - 0.91 12/2/2022 - 5 gal (~20L) of water mixed with the following: Cal Mag - 1ml/L - 20ml Fish Mix - 1ml/L - 20ml Bio-Bloom - 1ml/L - 20ml Top-Max - 1ml/L - 20ml Bioheaven - 2ml/L - 40ml Acti-Vera - 2ml/L - 40ml pH - 6.49 EC - 0.92 The flowering stretch is getting more prominent. But it doesn't look like I need to adjust my circulating fans as the tent has extension and plenty of space still available. But the newer leaf tips appear to still bending down. Too much N? Perhaps after finishing week 3, I should switch from Fish Mix to Bio Grow. 15/2/2022 - 5 gal (~20L) of water mixed with the following: Cal Mag - 1ml/L - 20ml Bio-Bloom - 2ml/L - 40ml Top-Max - 1ml/L - 20ml Bioheaven - 2ml/L - 40ml Acti-Vera - 2ml/L - 40ml Chitosan Oligosaccharide - 1ml/L - 20ml pH - 6.34 EC - 0.77 Decided to omit Fish Mix this fertigation. It appears so that the plants have stopped their flowering stretch. The stretch is not as intense as my previous sativa dominant strains. The branches appear sturdy and should be able to hold the bud weight. Quite happy with the internodal spacing considering it's sativa dominant nature. Did some defoliation to expose the lower nodes to light.

High nitrogen? High EC? Lockout? Perhaps I should do a pH-ed plain watering for the next watering. But otherwise the buds are stacking up beautifully.🙂

They are at week 5 bloom and already shaking vigorously from the circulating fans. They are looking really good if I might say so myself!🙂

As for the other plants are mostly clear. I planned for harvest next week, but looks like I can give them another week. I'll check the trics again in a few days and decide again.🙂

WEEK 17 - 30/3/2022 - 5/4/2022 1/4/2022 - 5 gal (~20L) of water mixed with the following: Cal Mag - 0.5ml/L - 10ml Bio-Grow - 1ml/L - 20ml Bio-Bloom - 4ml/L - 80ml Top-Max - 4ml/L - 80ml Bioheaven - 5ml/L - 100ml Acti-Vera - 5ml/L - 100ml pH - 6.38 EC - 1.61 Trichomes inspected again plant 1,2 and 3 are still showing some clear trichomes. No amber ones yet. Looks like I'll be harvesting at the end of week 11. 3/4/2022 - Change of plans. I'll be harvesting at the end of week 10 after all. Plant 4 is showing more amber trics while the other 3 plants have about 70% cloudy trichomes. Plant 3 has more fox tailing buds as its quite close to the light. 4/4/2022 - All 4 plants cut down and hung upside down whole. Decided to go with dry trim this time around. 10 days of drying should be good. The root mass is quite small surprisingly. Perhaps 5 gallon pot is too big for it. Also the main stem is quite thin. My previous sativa plants were not like this at all. I wonder if the soil lacks silica. Oh well... Another grow done! I'm hoping the terpene profile would be more prominent since it was grown organically. 14/4/2022 - After 10 days of drying, the small stems do not snap but the buds look crispy dry. I decided to trim them and place in Grove bags for curing process. The RH is at 54% inside the bag which means it's too dry. I placed Boveda humidipak in the bags hoping to bring the RH to 58-62% for the rest of curing. But even after 1 day in the bag, the terpene profile is starting to get more stronger. Sweet, fruity and a bit of spices. Not much of strawberry scent though. But that's totally fine as the smoke effect is pretty good!
