Jan 23 - Eloise has some sick looking leaves, discoloured, curling upward and brittle and dry :-( I'm always confused when something like this happens to one plant out of a group that is getting (almost) identical treatment. The only difference between Eloise and her sisters is she was FIMmed with no LST, Yvette had both and Genevieve LST only. Everything else is identical Jan 24 - I've begun to suspect Eloise's problems are light/heat stress. Problems started shortly after I started using the bloom setting on one of the lights. I'll leave that setting off for now and moved Eloise to under the other light to be safe. Will continue to water with plain water as well in case its nutrient burn Jan 26 - Eloise is doing great now, stress from the light was definitely the problem. Trimmed off damaged leaves and lowest node Yvette has looked weird for a while now, twisted leaves and everything growing very close together. In hindsight, FIMming and LST together may have been too much for the poor girl. Genevieve is smaller than the rest, whether it's because of the smaller container or something more serious, I'm not sure but I think she may have also been stressed out by the too close/too powerful light Jan 27 - feeding

Discoloured older leaves curling up at the edges and turning dry and brittle. I think my problem is over or under watering. I've been very careful to avoid overwatering so I'm leaning towards the latter but what I've read online suggests dry/brittle means overwatering. Thoughts?

It's overfeed, stop it, give them time to grow, good pH and dry wet cycle is all they need now for two weeks or so Less is more ! Golden rule in growing ! Bad air humidity could lead to minimise VPD, then slow uptake and build up of nutes in grow medium.... You need 70% Rh till second weak of flower, only for last week I would drop so low as 30, normally it's about 50% at most grows, some go to lower forty. All the Best !

I'm pretty sure these leaves are drooping and curling from light stress but want 2nd opinion. Only on top growth, yellow tips on leaves from previous light stress, not sure if there's new yellow. Full nutrient regimen, water ph 6.0-6.5, watered 2 hours before pics

Your Grow Question is looking a like this one that was just asked. growdiaries.com/grow-questions/44328-light-burn I think its the same thing. Overwatering. Given that it was taken a few hours after you watered. Your light is 150w-180w draw from the wall. its not truly 1000W minimum distance from canopy is 24" according to its site. https://kingledlights.com/products/fineest-1000w-remote-control-led-grow-light-full-spectrum-for-greenhouse-and-indoor-plant-flowering-growing-10w-leds Best Of Luck!

The yellowing is from an earlier issue but now I'm noticing brown spots and the leaves curling up, some getting crispy-ish. I recently lowered the lights a few inches, knowing I was pushing the safe limits. Is this from the lights or is more likely a nutrient/pH imbalance?

You have a substrate ph issue locking out your nutrition or you are not feeding enough. Your plants wants ample potassium and phosphorus during bulking. She is eating herself to develop. So roots are not in right ph range in soil or not enough nutrition

Wondering if anyone can help me understand why one plant grew out so stretched and with unformed buds while the other from same seed packet appears normal. Is this just a weird pheno? The strain (NLTxGelato) is a new one so I'm not sure how stable the genetics are.

Hey Growmie, I just had this happen with a Bruce Banner Auto, it grew so tall, and the buds were super unformed as it was growing, the stems were long and weak and it eventually broke. Turns out it was just the pheno, I'm growing the same strain now and it grew the correct way. So to sum it up, it happens sometimes, doesn't matter if it's an autoflower or a photoperiod even though it does seem like the photoperiod genetics are a bit more stable at times. Feel free to shoot me a holler if you ever need any help, I'd be honored to assist you. Hopefully, this was helpful, and remember ... "Happy Growing" and "Free your mind one puff at a time".

Fox tailing. Its genetic. Pure indicas seem to do it more than sativas. Its just the bud structure with extra large calyx's, They look like that in the over sized ones cases. But I do agree it goes from being part of the buds genetic structure when its even and controlled all over the bud ,to when it is out of control like when it shoots out from the top or in multiple long tips from the tops, that seems to be caused by some environmental or human influence. What?? I dont know. Never dealt with it much til this year, first time ever seeing it in person on my hash plant, It did get a touch too much nitrogen in bloom, BUT it was from potassium nitrate in the bloom nutes. Was cooler than normal here too this summer. But the genetics of this plant say it looks prone to that chunky bud structure and may be prone to foxtailing, so Im calling it 75% genetics, and 25% environmental or man influence.

If you got a smart phone you can down load PPFD Meter, can be calibrated if you have A par map for your light from manufacturer.

@MG2009, Much thanks for the suggestion, I feel I have a much better idea how light intensity is spread :)

To your comment about not watering enough to soak the soil deep down, I’ve been adding a few drops of Dr Bronners peppermint soap to each watering load (in my case a 2 L cashew container) to lower the surface tension of the water. This means the water will be able to enter smaller pore spaces in the soil allowing the water to penetrate further. Also always let the first bit soak in, and then the second bit of water is able to distribute more evenly and penetrate further. Anyway, nice grow and cheers.
