Researchers at Oregon State University have come up with interesting findings that potentially offer new ways to prevent and treat Covid-19. According to their study, published online in the Journal of Natural Products on Monday, compounds in cannabis can prevent infection with the virus caused by Covid-19. The compounds are supposed to block its entry into cells. In the study's abstract, the researchers suggest that it is by no means a substitute for the vaccine, just a possible supplement. They bind to spike protein. Cannabis compounds identified by research through chemical screening have shown the ability to prevent the virus that causes Covid-19 from entering human cells.
