Wish I had taken photos (where was my head?!). I'm excited about this strain - the two plants are looking magnificent! Having a small issue with a few gnats but so far it's not a problem - but I think I need to start doing some research and figure out how to get rid of them BEFORE they become a problem!!
btw... think I've found a solution to the gnat "problem" before it becomes a problem... I've ordered some Mosquito Bits and will treat the soil with it next time I water!
I've decided I'm going to start chopping my last lady next week... again, I'm going to have to do it in stages because she's just so big and lots of the buds underneath aren't going to be ready... but the buds on top are about 30% amber now which is what I've set as my "mark." The first plant - the one that finished far too soon - has now been dried and is curing jars... 4.2oz dry weight from that lady... this one will probably be 6 or more... What an interesting grow... truly!
@GrowingGrannie, but Tangerine Dream will be ready in approximately 2-3 more weeks, Banana Kush will be ready in 3-4 weeks & Amnesia Haze will need another 5-6 weeks. Amnesia Haze has stopped growing, no size difference in buds or anything & now all of my fan leaves on the Tangerine Dream are completely covered in signs of cal/mag def. otherwise the plant is still looking good & buds are starting to fatten up now so I'll leave the fan leaves for at least another week or so before I remove them all Pre-Harvest.
@GrowingGrannie, yea just imagine growing 4 to 6 different strains at a time, right now I have the Amnesia Haze, Tangerine Dream, Banana Kush, (2) Respect 4 Gorilla CBD & had what was supposed to be Bubble Gum #2 but turned out to be a male π
@Xavierfourtwenty, btw, I took your advice and did some major defoliation.. now about all I can see on that one plant are buds... TONS AND TONS of buds! The other one seems to have lagged in development which is weird... i.e., the one with all the buds is about 2 weeks ahead of the other even though they're the same strain and the same age... it just wasn't ready for any defoliation before but now she is and I'm not hesitating... I think in about 3-4 weeks, I'll be ready to harvest one plant and leave the other for even more time to develop further (which is good because from all the buds on it, I don't want to have TWO plants to do at the same time!).
@GrowingGrannie, ah I've seen autos grown in compost. If you look I added a super soil formula that changes into humus/top soil which ppl grow in all the time. And they are taking every nute now. But yeah I guess I'll find out if they reach harvest and then I might be sayinh u were right, hope it's not the case but they haven't given me any problems so far and very little maintenance at the start compared to hydros. But yeah thanks. Autos are a tricky thing even if you have everything right, there's no many different answers ppl give I've stopped asking questions, unless I'm stumped. But yeah all the best. I'll drop by soon. Thanks for the tips.
@gottagrowsometime, I know you probably know this but am just going to mention - autos don't like a whole lot of nutes... I start mine off with 1/4 the dosage recommended and GRADUALLY increase ... I give way more bloom nutes, even early on, than I do grow nutes... But I mention that only because you said you started yours off in compost... seriously, that could have a major negative impact on autos... they really just want to be left alone (fat chance!) to do what they're going to do... I'm honestly thinking about doing a grow of autos this summer with no nutes whatsoever and see what happens... LOL!
And yeah, she IS a beast... can't even accurately figure out how tall she is because I've had to LST her to death just so she'll fit inside my 60" tent and not kiss the damned lights... π I'm struggling to figure out how I'm going to support the buds because she's got, at MINIMUM, 4-6 more weeks before harvest... stay tuned! And cross your fingers I don't screw this up!
Wow, that plant is a beast! Good to know your trichomes are turning amber. Iβve talked to several others who said their Tangerine Dream never turned amber so they chopped anyway. I am giving mine a few more days!
This is awesome! I planted 4 strains at the same time and the TD is way ahead of the others. I accidentally over fertilized and developed some issues with the other three. But not the TD. She is strong and she's is growing wild in my grow tent.
So my tallest (the Tangerine Dream) at 44" but with that cal/mag deficiency had to do a lot more defoliation than I had hoped for so I'm sure I added a week to the Flowering! Speaking of, those a really dense. Just a thought, maybe do a little defoliation yourself, sucks it's already Into Flowering as well but you can get by will a little & shouldn't hurt you, if anything it'll help your yeild
So I noticed that you said you were going to start harvesting today, but then I noticed that you still have White Pistils all over, if that's the case it's not ready. Just a suggestion but hopefully you haven't already done so but you should wait just a bit longer, mine pretty much looks just like yours but I'm going to have to wait for the end of the week before it is ready! My Banana Kush is ready now but I'm actually going to starve it for a day or two to soak up anything that may be remaining in the soil! But seriously, I'd wait just a bit longer if possible π€
@GrowingGrannie, yea I am having the same problem with the shop I buy my seeds from, they sold me that male plant & I was pissed, I'm just glad I noticed before it was able to pollinate the females π then I also bought some CBD Respect 4 Gorilla from ExpertSeedBank & so far I've only grown the two but they're both different, one has long skinny pointed leaves while the other has short fat pointed leaves! But both are looking very good so far, so I can't complain too much! I did Harvest some of the Banana Kush, not all of it was ready but very close, probably be harvesting the rest in the next few days
@Xavierfourtwenty, One plant still has nothing but white pistils but the other has tons of orange pistils and that's the one I harvested the top third of ... I'll tell you, once this whole grow is done with, I'm going to go comment on MSNL's website about their seeds - there has been INCREDIBLE inconsistency and I'll not buy from them again. Of five seeds, only 4 germinated (not complaining)... two of the seeds (we'll call them #1 and #2) grew to over 50" and went into flower in week 5... #3 and #4 haven't gotten taller than 22" and went into flower in week 4 ... #1 is the one with all the orange pistils now but #2 is JUST starting to show them... #3 is all jammed up - no stretch at all but flowers look dense and frosty ... #4 stretched a bit, has good flowers but not one friggin' tricome on the entire plant (I'm pitching it)... AND I TREATED EACH ONE EXACTLY THE SAME!!! As I said, the inconsistency is maddening!
@Xavierfourtwenty,
Whoops... I don't see my first response to your question! I suppose I did something wrong! I had said that I really, REALLY like them and would recommend them wholeheartedly! I was a bit scared when I first used them but if you work with a stem that's really pliable, it's easy-peasey... I tried to use one on an "almost-pliable-enough" stem (the main cola!!) and ended up HSTing it... thankfully it didn't mind a bit and is still growing strong. I like the fact I can choose which direction I want the stem to point in ... AND I like the fact I can remove them after a while and use them elsewhere and the bend stays put - i.e., the stem doesn't end up straightening out. I only bought a small bag of them and haven't had a reason to buy more....
@gottagrowsometime, Honestly, I wouldn't recommend it very highly... buds were awfully small - more sativa than indica - but in YOUR hands, it might do very, very well! Good luck if you try it!
