This week went well. I have a male and females of this strain. This is my first look at this Big Krunk cross. So far its taking on the large leaves and thick stems of krunkleberry. However the way its responding to topping reminds me of the huge yielding critical. I cant wait for it to start to smell.
I'm using roots organic soils. For vegetative growth I use original. When I transplant into the 3 gal bag I use the 707 for flowering. I add bio live to the 707 at the recommended rate.
I'm still letting the nutes in 707 soil with bio live that was added during transplant into 3 gal pot feed this girl. Unless I see reason to add something I will keep going with just 707 and bio live. I do water once a week with enzyme. That's an important thing to add in there.
I week closer to identifying which way the flowers will lean. Will it favor krunkleberry or crit or will it be its own beast all together?
The male has nice internode spacing. I'll have to take that into consideration when looking for the female best suited to cross with. There are so many things to consider that will come up over the next couple of weeks. It's exciting.
This week was exciting. The flowers started smelling like critical and the stems smelled just like krunkleberry.
The male is giant. It has purple bananas and smells like krunkleberry.
I'm happy with how this is turning out. Mixing critical with krunkleberry was to increase the yield of krunkleberry. I was hoping for increased branching and a more vigorous root growth from the critical. The crystal factory potency and flavor from the krunkleberry. So far I see the thickness of branches being krunkleberry on both male and female. The amount of branches is critical. I harvested the male so in a few days I'll pull the soil from the pot and get a good look at the root ball. I'm guessing it will look like critical root system.
The smell at this point is krunkleberry with a hint of critical in the back ground. I'm excited to continue watching the female flower. I'll paint the pollen on mid week this coming week.
This week gave me a lot of info.
I see purple showing up on the edges of leaves. The trichomes are really starting to line the leaves of the upper buds. Both of those things are like krunkleberry. The longer structure of the buds lean toward critical. The way the buds are filling in looks krunkleberry.
The smell is a dank sour dough blueberry with a floral critical back drop. I'm not sure if I want to eat it burn it or stuff a pillow with it!
In regard to nutrients over the week. A top dressing of roots organic terp tea was applied at a rate of 1 tsp/ gal of soil. 2 cups of roots organic 707 soil was added as well for the ready available nutes in it. Today a brewed batch of terp tea will be watered in. The tea was brewed for 24 hours. It was mixed at a rate of 1 tsp/gal of water. This next part really just made me smile. The water started at a ph of 7.3. After brewing for 24 hours the terp tea ph was 6.73.
This week I used roots organic terp tea again. The purples hues really started coming out over the last week. The smell increased and it appears like considerable amount of trichomes.
Now I have to wait to taste this. It smelled so good. The smell was a perfect combo of krunkleberry and critical. Dank floral berry! I'll come back after drying to fill in harvest weight.
