It's still a little early for "veg" but it's definitely done germinating. We will call this week 1 "Seedling week".
All the plants in the room got transfered out to the 3x5 this little freak is now finding its home in the 2x2. Added one extra light of the same type for a little extra coverage, but its only receiving 225 PPFD (18 DLI).
No sign of roots coming out of the bottom yet, but the plant is still very small and the rock wool is still dripping soaked with seaweed water. It has dripped into my reservoir enough to say I added seaweed to the water, so I will continue doing so with my water changes.
No water change yet, and probably won't until I see some roots. PPM lowered to 1500 from 2000 over the 3 weeks, which looks better for the younger plant in the long run.

No sign of roots yet, but the leaves are growing quite a bit, and the second set of true leaves just started to form.
***Feb 4
Water PH was reading 6.5 so I lowered it back down to 5.5 (it went a tad lower but it will reach back up from the dripping again).
New leaves are easy to see and plant is looking happy! π I also took a hand full of water and sprinkled it down where the root would be, to give a bit of phosphorus for root development.
Fan is pointed directly on the plant to give it some strength, but not enough wind to stress it out. It's getting a nice breeze.

Looking very good! It must have gotten taller today because it got a little top heavy. Took a peek at the root (split the rockwool near the bottom) and the root is about 1/2 inch away from breaking through the bottom of the rockwool! πͺ
I am also adjusting the light dependant on the VPD (the closer to perfect VPD, the less I push the light stress on the plant). The plant seems to be reaching its leaves towards the light when in this state (Clawing?)
Not much growth noticed on the leaves, but hope to see a root show in a couple days.

Looking great. Not much to report today.
Beautiful plant! I came to check it out and saw you said you're nutrients arent staying stable. If you dont mind some advice, organics are really hard to successfully run in hydro. It's almost impossible to run a reservoir stable with organics in it. I use a 1 part grow and 1 part bloom chemical salts in my reservoir. It holds ph great for weeks and makes hydro enjoyable to grow in as it should be. Also 5 ph is too low. 6.0 or close to there gives you a good range to absorb all the nutrients. Best of luck with the rest of your grow
@WishiFishi, calcium absorbs better at higher ph. Ghe has a great chart that shows the best range that all nutrients absorb at. I guess this site wont let you paste links anymore though. I will definitely follow along on your grow. Love the way those freakshow leaves grow out.
@Wicked_Stix, I was actually having some calcium up take issues at the 6.3 I was sitting at, so I lowered it down a bit. I'll keep my eye out on it, I'm still learning and experimenting!
@WishiFishi, it's actually 5.5 to 6.5. At 5 you wont ever get enough cal and mag absorption. Even at 5.5 the plants will struggle to absorb. I thought you were using organics because you had fish shit listed on your nutes.
@Wyregrasser, Thank you so much π I will make a detailed review of the strain once she's finished and I've done a little smoke test! π I appreciate all the support
@WishiFishi, I'm just going to run them in solo cups and see what happens... basically testing a new fertilizer, grow dots from real growers... I added it a little heavier than recommended so maybe I can burn them a little. Thinking of flipping to 12/12 after 3 weeks to see what what they show, then re-vegging. Either way, your diary is going to help me in the long run so thank you.
@GroloCup, Good luck on your grow! When I did mine in soil, they seemed like they were always hungry, so keep that in mind! They are also relatively hard to sex, and barely need defoliation. That's about all I learned about the strain in my experience, hope it helps! I'm also going to follow along your grow :)
@WishiFishi, I've been hacking away the last day or so, looking to max out the sites before flipping... 4-7-22 is the day... hoping for ladies, or I'm going to have some pregnant Super Skunk lady with Freakshow crosses... Thats crazy that yours is so bushy, mine were going straght up with little side branching... I didn't do any training though so I should have figured...plants doing plant things... Mine looked a little bushy but it was all the crazy kale looking fan leaves...
@GroloCup,I decided against doing very much to this one, I didn't do any topping, and the only defoliation I've been doing is the top two fan leaves as they were getting too big and covering the tops. The canopy is doing it all on its own!
I still want to go in and lollipop a bit, but other than that, it's been pretty hands off. The thing I like about this strain, is it's very open to the light and airy, so it doesn't really need a lot of maintenence it seems.
@Wyregrasser, This leaf mutation is really bushy so far! Same thing happened to a few of my previous freaks, but they ended up stretching out their fingers after. Just upgraded my lights, so we will be seeing some nice changes in the near future π
