Here is my first grow. I started this dairy on week 11 of my actual grow. So any documentation upload before week 11 is actually remade so I forgot to mention a few things. Also didn’t think about taking clear pictures of both strains.
Please note that English is not my main language
Exposed a few lower bud sites by removing bigger fan leaves. Buds really growing fast as flowering nutrients kicks in.
Last day of week 3 : OG Kush and Runtz were, till now, very hard to differentiate from eachother. Runtz started to shade into paler green as the OG Kush turn into a fresh green.
This week was my favorite so far. Looking at those baby buds coming to life was a really enjoyable moment.
Let’s head to week 4 after a deserved feeding.
W4
D1 :
Both feet into Week 4.
Raised a bit temperature to reach 26 degrees.
Bud sites start joining together. It start smelling a lil bit. This is really gettin real !
D3 :
Nutrition looks fine for flowering Bud sites really start to get fat and it smell very good in that garden
We start the week 5. Budsites are now quite dense. Runtz seems to grow bigger flowers on all 6 plants, while OG Kush take a bit more time to grow more flower but got HUGE pistils. The first smell on my fingers was an emotional moment 😅 I can’t wait to smoke it, but it feels like an eternity after now😭
Day2 :
Finally found out that I am facing a P deficiency. Probably because of too high pH so I’ll calibrate my pH pen tomorrow and l’ll lower ph around 6. I don’t really know but I’m afraid that the deficiency occurred since flowering and I hope it’s not that bad
Starting week 6 after a nutrient lockout during week 5. They look better now after a little flush. I stopped the pot to dip in water by putting small stones under.
Buds are a week away from slightly lowering temps. I struggle to keep humidity stable after watering.
Very proud I fixed the issue with nutrients, as it remains the hardest part for a first grow. Experience is key to analyse and solve problems.
Looking forward
WEEK 7 - 47th day after pistils
I unfortunately had to leave for a few days. Even if a friend took care of them, it was hard to manage climat. Had an issue with electricity. Hope it won’t Herm. But I was stunned by the grow while I was out.
Let’s see if the stress wasn’t to high.
Day 52 F : one more feeding before flushing those babies. Smell is very strong inside the tent and buds are also very sticky. Hopefully harvesting in a couple of weeks.
8th week of flowering starts now.
Flowers are very big and sticky, a few trichs have that milky tint and I already noticed ambered ones.
I started flushing but I’m facing issue to remove the runaway water from cups. 7 plants for that size was a bit too much for a first. But that’s a lesson for future grows ! Humidity is also very hard to keep under control as I live in a very humid area. Flushing doesn’t help and I definitely have to invest in a good dehumidifier for next grow.
A few small buds, with skinny stem started to bend because of buds weight.
Starting flowering week 9.
Harvest is very close. Amber trichs on many plants. This weekend is the time I suppose. But unfortunately can’t gradually chop. I need the tent to dry it.
Smoke reports OTW but terpenes feels really really fruity. Looking forward to taste it!
I’m really proud of me for a first time in growing anything. I look forward to make another one because I’ve learned so much by doing mistakes that I can be sure the next one will be even more great.
What I have learned and didn’t even thought before starting (for dudes who wants to try to grow for the maiden time.
- Adjust your pH AFTER mixing all of your nutes. Yeah that might sound very dumb, but for the first month of feeding, I didn’t actually thought that nutrients can change the pH. And I figured it out after a deficiency.
- Don’t let the pot soak on the runaway water. It caused me a few nutes lock.
- For a first try, go up to 3 plants maximum. It was a true pain in the ass to water at the end of the veg state before the stretch.
1st grow is now drying. Even after being well prepared, I still faced a few things that require experience to handle. The results feels very nice for a first one though. Looking forward to trim these nice buds, it looks like a huge amount of work but I have plenty of time an patience for this. I really enjoyed growing as I am a true cannabis passionate. I will definitely try again to improve those points I missed.
I will edit after a first sesh for smoke report ✌️🏼
