This is my 1st attempt at soil, so hopefully I don't mess it up too bad. I have a feeling this diary won't finish and I will kill her.. at least I will have a record of what I did.
I started her in a Root Riot starter plug and after she popped, I put her into a 3 gallon Smart Pot.
I used a few handfuls of the seed starter to put around the starter plug so she isn't going right into the soil.
The Stonington blend I cut with some coco/perlite (70/30) mix to help with aeration.
Coast of Maine says there are enough nutrients for about 30 days, so I will be using only PH'd water (6.5) for the first couple weeks.
I will probably have to add cal-mag by week 3 or 4 since my water is 30-40 PPM.
I plan to pop a few photo periods to run with the auto soon, so I am planning on 45 days of 18/6 and the rest 12/12.
Thanks for stopping by! ππ ππ
@StunFlower, ty! I wanted to see the difference in soil vs dwc and now I have a little slower garden to relax in and not have the over drive of DWC lol
@StunFlower, the pepperoncini are great. I got some poblanos, anaheims, jalapeno and golden bell. Not sure if I am going to run them all indoors. I may have went a little germination crazy lol.
@Oozle, I'm going to try growing some Habanero and Stavros Peperoncini peppers from seed and my daughter usually provides me with some Jalapeno seedlings from her starts. I tried my hand at making my own hot sauce last fall and it turned out really well. π₯ π
@StunFlower, Sweet. I am going to do some indoor and prep some to go outside. I never really grew any veggies before, so I'm kind of going all in with the soil stuff haha.
What kind of peppers are you planning on running?
Nice job.sour stomper is one of my favorites to grow.it really fattens up the last couple weeks.you should check mine out.i ended up with 130gs on one plant.it was a freak though.lol
@Chronicbastard, thanks. Your plant looked real nice. Huge yield too. Mine grew 3 branches at the first couple nodes, so I think that + noob mistakes kept her small.
She is still drinking a bit, so I will let her go a few more days for sure.
@KAPT_SAVE_Da_HOE, thanks! I try not to mess with the plants too much. Sometimes it works out well, other times I should have trimmed the plant up a bit.
