Set up the Mars hydro tent. Hung the lights and fan. Put dirt in bag, put bag in tent, put seed in dirt 😊 used 3 gallon bags because i wasnt sure how big they would get. added a third light.

When my fan comes on to cool down the tent should I set the fan to low speed and let it gradually vent? Or is it better to let it rip and vent the tent quickly?

I use an automatic inline fan and when the temps/RH get to high it turns on to medium speed. 1-10 speed settings. It also has an alarm setting should the temps get above that and then turns on MAX. I also have some fans in the tent that do not vent air but circulate it. normally when they come on the inline will also come on giving the plants a nice mix. If you fan is a turn dial type with no automatic controls, try and find a sweet spot that creates the ideal temps in your tent. Then worry about the RH after. can add in a humidifier into or outside of the tent. You could also get something called an inkbird that monitors temps and RH then turns on the fan. thus turning a non automatic fan into an automatic one. Best Of Luck!

As a first time grower, would you recommend traditional LST or a trellis net? I'm growing 3 plants in a 2x4 tent if that helps? Just wondering what the easiest and least prone to me screwing it up. Thanks in advance.

For autos, and being a first grow.. just regular LST in my opinion. Many of which have been outlined already by others. I do not like trellis nets cuz I like to see every bit of the plant and be able to move and inspect. You’re locked in with a scrog. It’s hard enough spotting WPM or pests without one, I can’t imagine with one.

I think 99% of grow related questions can be answered with "It depends...". That's what makes it such a fantastic hobby :) Anyway my 2 cents: Leaves produce energy which generates plant growth so you should let them be. However: Remove a leaf if it will make for a better distribution in your plant. Remove a leaf if it blocks a bud. Remove a leaf if it is yellow or sick. Remove a leaf that is always in the shadow, as it is not contributing to growth. Some say remove a leaf to improve air circulation but I have found that one to be difficult to assess. But it's always worth it to check your seed bank's website for specific cultivation advice, as some strains respond better than others. I have noticed no difference between autos and photos. Good luck!

At what stage should I start supplementing CO2? Veg, bloom, or both? If the answer is both, then what stage would it be most useful? I only have one bottle so when should I place it so that the plant gets the most out of it?

Unless your room is sealed and you know what your doing, It's not worth it. They plant also needs light energy provided to it in excess of 900PPFD or 20 DLI a day before it really needs it. If you new, you don't need it. get a handle on everything else and worry about co2 when you prefect your growing style. Good Luck!

When you start counting the bloom or flowering phase? is it when you first see pistils? or when you see pistils from multiple bud sites? Thanks in advance.

The first signs of stigma, (white pistons, white hairs) is when your plant is classed as flowering. When your plants start flowering you have to make sure that you're providing higher doses of phosphorus and potassium, these are the main minerals your cannabis plants need to produce buds. Lower the N, nitrogen is more KEY in the growth phase the P-K part is more for flowering. If you need more detailed info please feel free to DM me. The info that comes with the plant arw guidelines and flowering can be delayes in different environments, lightning, nutes, temps and so on. Some autos if stalled might not flower until wk 8 like mine, or migjt start on wk 2, depending on stress and condi, it all plays a part. Happy growing Buddy.

when im measuring the temp/humidity in my tent should i measure it down by plant or should i measure in the middle of the tent?

If you have good air circulation, then it doesn't matter where you measure. The sensor should not be directly in the light of the lamp, otherwise it would heat up and falsify the result. Even under the canopy of leaves, the air circulation is poor later and can cause slight deviations.

help diagnose my plant. two of the edges look burnt and also there are spots on the edges that look burned as well. this is only happening to one plant out of four so im not sure what the issue could be. giving the same nutes and under the same light. thanks in advance.

What nutes are you giving and what soil are you using? keep in mind that every plant is different even if from the same strain, what one likes the other might hate. Also keep in mind that auto's need about half the dosage of a photo-period but to be honest, I would have waited another week to start feeding, more if it's a rich soil. I'm no expert by any means but what I normally like to do is make sure my PH, temps and soil moisture are in check then look at the nutrients. If it's looking like deficiency then try to identify what type of deficiency and supplement. If it's burn (which is what I am seeing) then no nutes for a week or until new growth looks healthy. Don't freak out though cos it isn't terrible looking :) Hope this helps and good luck with your grow!

Looking good so far. She's growing very nicely this week. She's beginning to open up and spread out instead of up. it's fascinating to watch how fast everything happens. every day there are new leaves. there seems to be some issue with the edges burning or something. i have 2 other plants in this tent receiving the same nutrients and under the same light so im not sure exactly what's happening. hopefully a jedi master out there can help me. so i did a flush twice with straight tap water. i tested the run off at 1300-1600 ppm. Not good. i guess i started nutes way too early with the soil that i used. lesson learned. the plant is recovering very well, however. no new burned edges on new leaves and the overall color and health look remarkedly better. im starting to get excited again about watching this one grow up. thats the end of week 2. these little babies start their third week tomorrow. check back soon!

I like to wait for the third week or 3-5th node like stated below. Have also grown like suggested with keeping it low to the ground and it also worked. try something and see what works best for you. Be gentle and go slow. no one needs a snapped branch. Good Luck!

I'm hoping it gets a lot taller. we will wait and see. kind of disappointed that i dont have red leaves, but ive grown to love her anyway. im going to start some nutrients with the next watering cycle. hopefully she will keep growing bigger and stronger. thanks for reading.

She is growing fast and hard. She just started budding on day 28! I'm so happy with the way shes growing. very much looking forward to the blooming process. I tied her back a few times with some minor lst. she grew in such a way that i was able to lean her completely over and have all the branches looking directly up.

Wow, what a difference a week makes. She is still growing and showing no signs of stopping. I switched to bloom nutes and are now watering 1/2 gallon per day and she still wants more. I think next time i will do a little more of an advanced nutrient plan but as a first time grower i am very happy with the way she is developing. i tied her back a little bit but i dont want to overstress so now i just go in there every day when i water and separate all the nodes gently with my hands. this seems to be working for now but ill have to develop another plan if she keeps growing like this. im really fascinated by the buds and im very much looking forward to watching them grow. im really impressed that ive no issues yet with heat or humidity. the tent and the plants have basically kept everything at near optimum levels without me having to do much of anything except adjust the fan speed up or down when the lights go off and come back on. overall i am BEYOND THRILLED with how she is turning out. my expectations are already exceeded. thaks for stopping by and reading.

wow, this girl just keeps growing and growing. its really starting to flower up very nicely. im really proud of how shes turning out. ive been watering half gallon every other day and she seems very happy with that. as i water ive been defoliating the lower leaves that are turning yellow and also kind of spreading apart the different branches by hand and just lightly moving the branches and huge leaves around to get more light to the flowers. im expecting some trichomes to come in any day now. so excited! shes also starting to get a really dank smell to her. i cant hardly wait for this girl to mature because i cant wait to taste her. thanks for checking out my diary.

wow what a week!! she pretty much stopped growing and appears to be concentrating all of her effort into the flowers. they are developing really nicely and you can see the trichomes building each day. I cant wait to pull this gal, as she is also smelling very, very sweet. every time i go in there to defoliate or do some LST i cannot quit smelling my fingers afterward hahaha. im so happy with how shes turning out so far. once she started budding everything started happening really fast. i havent seen any problems with her at all, which is very comforting for a first time grower. she is starting to lose some of the bigger fan leaves so im having to defoliate pretty much every day. i cant wait to watch her for the next few weeks. Thanks for stopping by and reading my journal.

this was a really cool week to watch. shes stopped growing completely and the buds are getting very thick and fat. i can see new growth almost daily. shes starting to get covered in trichomes. the smell is amazing. i am still shocked at how fast she grew. im pretty sure she will be ready to pull in another week or maybe two. although im still kind of disappointed that she didnt grow red leaves, its been an absolute pleasure watching her grow. and shes also been very easy to take care of. ive had really no problems with her at all. ive let her do her thing and she keeps rewarding me every day. hopefully in the next week i can get some pictures of the tasty trichomes. Thank you for stopping by and reading.

this girl is just about ready for harvest! she is covered in milky trichomes and right now they are about 10% or so of amber. so im going to wait for another few days and let it flush and keep it her in the dark. she has fattened up quite nicely. i dont expect a huge yield because she grew very, very fast. from seed to harvest in 9 weeks! i cant wait to inhale her dank vapors <3

i cant wait to grow this again. maybe next time i will get purple flowers. this strain has been a wonderful experience, both growing and smoking. again shout out to sweet seeds for putting out stellar products. i cant wait to try other beans from sweet seeds. for a first grow this turned out very well. im very pleasantly surprised at how well it turned out. this thing went from seed to smoke in 10 weeks. had no problems whatsoever except out of my own ignorance. ive learned so much and cant wait to do it again. thank you for checking out diary.
