2/19/22 - Started 1 x Member Berry RBx1 using the paper towel method. Used 1/16 tsp of recharge in water, 0.325520833 mL / L, applied to the paper towel. Placed in a ziplock bag and set on top of the refrigerator to keep it warm. 2/20/22 - Roots have started to show on the seed. It needs another day until I put it into some medium and a humidity dome. Got a seedling heat mat and moved from the top of the fridge to that. 2/21/22 - 12 pm - Seed and roots are ready for prime time. Put them in a small cup with coco coir and a humidity dome. Sprayed with water with 0.325 mL/L of recharge and .905 mL/L of fish sh!t. Placed in the tent with lights on a 12/12 schedule. Check on it in 2 hours to ensure the coco hasn’t dried yet. 2/21/22 - 2 pm - Medium wasn’t giving off enough humidity so I watered it until runoff. Placed the humidity dome back on top and placed it in the tent. Added some cellophane to the top of the dome to generate more humidity. 2/21/22 - 5 pm - Checked on the plant and all is well. Humidity in the dome looks good and the temp in the tent is just about perfect. Will check on it at around 10pm. 1 hour after the lights turn off. 2/21/22 - 10pm - Tent is down to 70 F. Humidity in the dome looks good still. 2/22/22 - 10am - Checked on her this morning and she hasn't broken the surface quite yet. Humidity in dome is perfect and the medium is still near field capacity. Just a matter of waiting right now. 2/22/22 - 1pm - Checked on her and still no change. Switched lights to the proper 18/6 schedule they should have been on. 2/22/22 - 10pm - No change in status 2/23/22 - 12pm - Still hasn't popped from the coco yet. Got my humidifier in and setup. Currently set to 90% humidity. Will check on it in a few hours. 2/23/22 - 3pm - Forgot to set the fan controller's high humidity setting off. Tent was sitting at 67 F. Fixed that and the heat should come up quickly. Will check in another hour. 2/23/22 - 5pm - Humidity looks good in the tent and temp is perfect. Now I guess I just wait. Starting to get a little worried not gonna lie. 2/23/22 - 8pm - Under the advice of a friend who also grows I turned off the seedling mat. Lets see if his theory pans out. 2/24/22 - 10pm - Still no change. I did some excavation and the seed has a long tap root that I left undisturbed. I'm thinking it just needs heat and that is the reason I haven't seen anything pop up from the medium. The seed shell is still intact as far as I can tell. I lightly put a little coco on top to bury the seed again. Lowered my lights and set them to 24 hours on. Also set my tent to start venting at 80F instead of 76F which is what it was set at. Humidifier is dialed in now as well. 2/25/22 - 12pm - No change 2/26/22 - 5pm - Decided to cut my losses and investigate further. This seed is toast. The taproot, which I thought was fairly long at this point, was actually pretty short. The seed never fully opened and I think it used all it's energy up. Going to try this again and have ordered some peat pellets for germination. Will likely start a new seed today using the paper towel method with the same nutes. 2/27/22 - 6pm - Started a second seed in a peat pod. Placed in the tent on my seed starting heater and kept my original light schedule. Since it's under a humidity dome I turned the humidifier off. 3/2/22 - 11am - Checked on the pod and we have a popped seed! Going to give it till the end of the day and check on it again. May be able to remove that dome tomorrow or Friday. 3/3/22 - 12pm - Checked on her and she is doing very well. Seems like the peat pod is drying a little so I removed the netting and transferred to a small pot with some coco. Will likely keep her in that for a little while.

Grow Questions

My plant is doing very well however the fan leaves having gotten a bit much. I'm about to go into week 5 of flower and I'm wondering if I can remove a few fan leaves to help lower humidity and increase light penetration to the other bud sites?

I'm on the side of both Hashy and HerbalEdu here... defoliation is definitely beneficial for such a bushy plant as yours but do it selectively and slowly! Flowers need light to grow big - the more light, the better! They may be getting more light when the tent is closed up - but they'll get even more if large fan leaves aren't between them and the light! And no, I have yet to see any cannabis plant that grows more leaves if you remove some leaves... Be selective - choose leaves that are blocking bud sites - and go slowly so you don't overly stress the plant... do a little today, wait about 3 days and do some more... I've defoliated all the way up to 2 weeks before harvest! Good luck!

@QuickOne, Thanks so much. I'm a little nervous with all this. This is my first attempt in coco, a grow tent, and with these nutrients. My last (and first) grow was on a balcony with soil lol.
