Hello. This is the beginning of Sleepy Joe.
That soak water looks awful I said to myself. But it has 2 cups of filtered water with 4 drops of 29% Hydrogen Peroxide. On my bamboo stir stick I dipped it into the cloning cell twice and stirred in. While stirring I added a pinch of Cinnamon and mixed a minute more. This is all to stop (I can't remember the name) the fungus that attacks the new seedling and stops it when it first pops. It sticks out it's new white rootlet and stops growing. You go Ahhh!!! you know the feeling. It's either a old seed or this fungus has set in and stopped growth.
So I soaked them for 26 hours (I forgot to check them before supper) and then put them on the paper towel in a clean plastic food container. I like to have holes in the top so the seeds can feel some water movement in evaporation. I put a folded paper towel down first and then a 2 times folded paper towel on that. Close the towels and pour the same soak water on top of that. In the pictures I showed how much water should be at the corner of the tipped container. You want the seed to get a good amount of air above the water line but be surrounded by the wet paper towel.
From here I closed the lid and put the container on the shelf I put in the clone/seedling cupboard. It doesn't need light so I put a rag on top and a straw to leave the air holes open for air movement.
The lights are on 18/6 and I think the seeds feel that and get use to the cycle.
I checked after 24 hours and found they had all popped. So I got the peat pellets soaking over night. The next morning I made up the pots. I like long thin peat pellets so I roll them until I get them longer and thinner. Put 2 holes or more in the bottom of the pot. You need drainage, more holes is better. Make sure to cut a hole in the bottom of the peat pellet netting so the root can grow straight down and not get to curled up too soon. The plant can grow stunted or not grow very well if the root can't get out of the netting around the peat pellet.
When putting the seedlings in the peat don't go much deeper than your finger nail. But this can lead to tall seedlings but I don't mind. I have made up seedling holders out of copper. But if you don't want tall seedlings you have to wait till the roots have a longer rootlet up to 1/2 inch then put them soil but you have to be extra careful not to hurt the white root.
Push a bit of peat around the seedling but don't push down. Use the water to take out any air bubbles that might be around the seedling. Don't spray so hard you move the seedling in the soil. Water around the peat pellet until you have water coming out the bottom. After 3 days give a bit of water just to keep the peat damp.
Place the pots where the seedling can feel the routine of lights coming on and off. Of heating up and cooling down of the soil. If you don't see anything coming up after 4 or 5 days I dig down carefully to see what is going on. Sometimes the root get going in the wrong direction. Or it runs out of energy and needs some light on the base of the root. A couple of times I've had to pull the seedling right out and get the shell off and place the root tip back in the soil and put a 1/2 shell over it. This gives the seedling a bit of light to make some energy from photosynthesis. Some times it works some times it doesn't. You need to be really careful when taking off the shell too.
I don't give any food till the first set of true leaves come out. and then only 1/2 strength.
And that's where we are today. Have Fun. Chuck.
Beware of ANESIA guys—-i’m in EU, bought imperium x & blackberry moonrocks directly from them and received nothing! Stopped communication & ran away with my money! They even deleted my profile on their account which I made to buy the seeds. I’ve all emails showing that i’m telling the truth.
@GODSGIFT_2005_JM, Hello. Sorry to here of your problems. This is the first I've heard about them being dicks. I like to buy my seeds from a good seed bank. I usually us Sensible Seeds and was not pleased with OA Seeds but I eventually got my seeds. Last time I ordered from Sensible Seeds I got the 31 seeds I payed for and I got 32 free seeds with the order. The free seeds I got were -12 Buford OG reg by Rare Dankness and 20- 11 Roses fem by Delicious Seeds. I've heard lately about Expert seeds doing the same to a couple of people. seedfinder.eu has a page you can complain that a lot of people see. I think it's on the -seed police- page Good Luck. Chuck.
@Growkemon, Hello. Yes, The strain I found that is a bit more couch-lock than this one, is, Mt Blanc by T.H.Seeds. If I smoke it in the morning, I'm fighting to stay awake by 1 pm. It's got a nice head high to start with but soon it's,... like... I don't want to do anything but watch TV or go to sleep. The buds weren't as tight as some strains but it tasted good. Nice fresh taste. A good place to go to do research is seedfinder.eu Find search and type in couch-lock and check the "in description" box too. You should find lots that say that in their description. Once you've searched, the ones with the green arrows on the right are the best. Hope that helps. Chuck.
@@Teh_Saccade, I got some new lights and I'm still learning how t use them for what I need. I used fluorescents for clones and seedlings for about 25 years. It's been hard to find the 3 foot grow lights and the ballasts were 25 years old so I got the TS 600 Mars Hydro for the cupboard. But it doesn't have a dimmer. It's a small light so I hung it up as high as I could just under 3 feet. Once cloned, the plants love the light but it's too intense for the little cuttings with the plastic cover on them. I wonder if it intensified the light. The cuttings seem burnt. So this is the 4th try and I hung some white plastic just below the light to try to reflect some of the intenseness of the light. So far the clippings aren't drooping as fast as the last couple of times and seem happier. I think that was the problem - fingers crossed. Chuck.
