5/20/22 - Watered, you know the drill, 1200ml/800ml. What I've noticed is the humidity is creeping up as of late, I guess because of the outdoor conditions. I'll likely need a dehumidifier ASAP. Regardless, we're looking to be in the last week here, I think the one 5gal is a bit ahead of the other because the little trichomes look a bit cloudier, but the plan for that is to look for just a bit of amber on that 5gal then pull. Hoping I don't mess up the harvest! But it's been an interesting run, lots of ups and downs, learned a little bit and can hopefully apply those lessons on the next grow. 5/24/22 - Same watering, just popping in to check on them. Have to say the smell is quite strong now and just a nice toasty scent, very happy with that. Buds are looking real frosty too, and one of the 5gals is getting a pretty cool purple tinge to it. My plan is still to wait until I can see just a few amber trichomes on the one 5gal and then we'll be ready to start drying; I think that will put me in a good place. I definitely should have started the flush later, probably a week or two ago, but that's okay, they're doing well and developing well enough. This diary will be useful to reference on the next grow. I'm being ugh super lazy about building the new outdoor garden bed, though I do have space in my existing beds to start some outdoors...We're in a bit of a cold spell this week, so I may just germinate some seeds and plant one or two outside this weekend. Stay tuned!

Help diagnosing: I believe it's a Magnesium and Nitrogen deficiency. Symptoms include a yellowing of leaves that's starting from the bottom of the plant and working upwards with brown spots, leaves are curling a bit now as well. Top leaves are a light green instead of deep green.

You will want to pick up a TDS pen to measure your EC of the feeding solution. If the EC is to high it affects the plant in a negative way. Autos are especially sensitive to this as well. growdiaries.com/journal/what-is-electric-conductivity-ec-and-total-dissolved-solids-tds good little read explaining the EC, some GD articles are bad this one is descent. https://www.autoflower.net/forums/threads/med-man-method-feeding-chart-ppm-ec.47856/ Good reference point for most auto growers. Still need to monitor the plant and look for signs of excess or deficient signs. It only works on total concentration not what its concentrated with. eg the ratios of grow + bloom + boosters/supplements Once you have this tool it will help you grow better. It is almost always a needed tool when using liquid nutrients unless you have used a product line for years and know what it does off by heart. Good Luck!

Trying to get a sense of when to start the harvest, I've read like 30-40% amber but also just when all the trichomes are cloudy, could use some assistance. Thank you! Grow diary week 11 has more pics for reference.

Yoo! I saved that picture and zoomed in. Not seeing much clear trikes and very few amber. Its up to you now. Experiment with it. If you want a larger level of body stone (higher CBN) which not many folks like because it makes you pass out cold sleepy instead of stimulating the mind then wait for more amber. Wait for that golden hue on the bud. Otherwise if you want peak thc potency just look for max clear trikes. I like to wait until its noticeable in an iphone picture that 15-20% of the trikes are amber.

Don't seem to be seeing amber trichomes yet, best practice to just stay the course until I can see some and then harvest? Majority of the pistils are orange and trichomes all seem to be pretty cloudy. Just looking to the community for some advice, don't want to harvest too early!

Not all strains produce amber trichomes. If your 100% cloudy and all the pistils have browned then it's ready. If not continue until they are. I harvested an auto northern lights about a week ago and that went 94 days before I chopped but would have benefitted another week really.

@Tropicannibis_Todd, appreciate it, thanks! I took a look at your NL and wow, very impressive. I'm afraid mine are stunted a bit so I'm just adjusting the environment and tweaking what I can. Treating this as a learning experience and will try to improve as time goes on. Take care.

Hey there nice looking little ladies! One bit of advice if it is okay, Cannabis plants love heat and humidity. The buds HATE it, Your temps are a little on the low side we generally want 79-84 MAX and no more than 9 degrees less with lights off. Too much of a swing in temperature will cause them too stretch we want to keep it at no more than 9 degrees less. We can utilize humidity to speed our plants along as well in veg for much more vigorous growth. To have a better understanding of how humidity plays a role in growing your plants check out this article on VPD, Vapor pressure deficit. This is the one I use to help new growers learn about it and use the chart they provide here on this article as well. https://cerescann.com/importance-of-measuring-vpd/ If you have not done so yet get yourself a thermal laser temp gun like the fluke 64 MAX and a PAR meter to better help read your plants needs and grow to them. This equipment will also help us dial in our plant top temps and set our lights to their optimal distance from the plants. We want to put our lights on pullys like the sun grip light pullys to adjust them better. If you ever have any questions please feel free to follow my profile & DM me anytime! If you would like to see how these methods impact plant growth very importantly early on check out our USA rep LegacyMarketFarmUSA and follow him as well!

@@rividium, Good question! I will find out when I begin my tent tutorial series, I am a retired legacy market commercial grower now making a company of my own. We are starting out with a tutorial series aimed at tent growers so this will be a learning experience for me using a tent for the first time!
rividium
rividiumcommented3 years ago
@LegacyMarketFarm, I have not tried that yet but will give it a shot. My light is LED so it doesn't get too hot but it definitely bumps the temperature up a few degrees. I struggle to break that 73F barrier regardless. Do you think its easier to heat or cool a tent? Depending on which I can move the tent upstairs into a warmer area, just concerned about it getting too hot in that case.

If you need advise with your yellow leave it may be the water quality , allowing the water you use to distille properly and minimize the nutrients + worm castings are amazing to mix in and also use on top soil, hope this helps you a bit , but try removing a few old decaying lower yellow leaves and see how the plant responds- check out my purple urkle if you got time dude , ☮️

rividiumcommented3 years ago
@CroNiCGman, Hey thanks man, that definitely could be causing some issues. I've mostly been using tap water and letting sit for about 24 hours before using. I just used filtered water today, so maybe I'll be able to notice any improvements from that. I'll jump in there and snip the dying leaves in just a bit, been trying to stay on top of that. I checked out your purple urkle and wow looks absolutely amazing. That's what I'm trying to go for; the deep healthy green leaves during the flowering stage. Once I hit that after about 4 weeks I started to get the yellowing issue. Appreciate your comment, thanks!
