So first photo grow iv done in a LONG time. First time iv had to stray away from FastBuds too actually. Looking forward to it. I chose fast flowering strains anyway as I love heavy indica’s. Thanks to Zamnesia for sponsoring the seeds. Iv been slack for a few weeks. That’s why there’s no geek photos and it starts on like week 2, just as I turned on the autopots. 4 autopots, 4 huuuuge pots. I’m hoping to be able to veg out long enough to where I can grow them all as monsters. In the past growing autos you get what you get to a certain degree so it will be nice to control veg time. I had a good Robles over watering at first. Also I put them straight in huge tubs which stunted them. Growing nice and strong and quick now though, although the autopots are less strong for some reason, I only turned them on today though so they should get used to that wet/dry cycle and start loving life.

All going good. Topped once now as well. These photos were taken before that tho. Probably flip in a week or two…. I just watered and gave them their weekly microbes and iv noticed something compared to my last run. I’m using the nutrient line that I got on Amazon CHEAP. I know a lot of tomatoe farmers and such use it. It comes as a powder and you first dilute it into a concentrated liquid like you would buy other nutrients - then you use the watered down A and watered down B in diff ratios in my res each week. Great value for money - like crazy cheap but last time I had real issues with it precipitating out of solution so I was literally throwing it down the drain! Iv narrowed it down to the fact I was adding the nutrient solutions PRE PH’ing the water. My water comes out at 7 consistently so I am adding the PH down BEFORE adding the nutrient solutions. Works like a charm so far but we will see about when we switch up the ratios and increase the EC. SPEAKING OF:I need to buy a new TDS meter, iv no idea where mine went. Other than that the grow is going really well - just noticed I can increase the EC a little which is good. I also have noticed how incredibly used to autos I got. The growth structure is really quite different - particularly in the early vegetative leaves. They are way ‘fuller’ for want of a better term. Hardly any three finger leaves. It’s just interesting to me as I havnt grown photos for a loooong time. I think I’m going to need some black tape to stick over my inkbird meters and general ‘smart’ meters. I think they are mainly red LED’s which I’m guessing are extremely bad for photo periods considering that is what the early LED grow lights basically were. I’ll dig out the gorilla ‘glue’ tape. I am also realising that the kalini Asia is going to get less screen time than the cheese, purely because they are the closest to the door. Also the monstor zkittlez seems to be the most vigorous so far. Iv actually been amazed at how quickly they’ve grown since they’ve been in the post seedling veg stage. The lights have been joined together and are dimmed to the lowest setting. I don’t know if it’s the auto/photo thing again or it’s the positioning of my light but the nodes seem to be much tighter together than last time. I know they stretch during…well..stretch but even so.

I keep making up my reservoirs and forgetting to check EC but I am following a feed chart and they al seem to be ok. I got my 2 AutoPot XL extensions for m system today. Really stoked with them, they are a lot bigger than I thought they would be. I transplanted a kalini Asia, which transplanted well and a cheese. The cheese kind of fell apart and a load of roots ripped off which sucks. Im sure it will be ok, it’s just annoying it’s going to probably stunt for a while now so it can rebuild some roots. The other kalini was a dream to transplant. I literally took it out and squeezed it from a circle to a square shape at the top of the pot. Job done. Oh I also sprinkled in some high quality coco based compost as well. Some to fill gaps and some mixed in at the bottom. Im Hoping they will take to the system nicely. I do intend to buy 1 or even two more Xl’s - if I did get two I would take away one of the smaller autopots though.

A bit of a boring photo really - I’ll get in there and take some photos in a bit. I plan to pull them out and defoliate and generally tidy up the bottoms of the plants to increase airflow around the stem. It Should also direct the energy where I want it to be - the tops. The two that i planted into the AutoPot XL’s seems to be loving it. I will most likely buy two more of the XL’s and take away one of the normal ones for the next round. That way I could get 4 large plants and three smaller ones. The nutrition this round is much much better as well. Last time I used it, by this time and this EC, it was precipitating out and literally going down the drain so it’s much better. Hopefully it will stay the same throughout flower. I will be changing the res today and adjusting nutrition for early flower. I will also probably back off the EC just a little bit. One of the plants started looking a little stressed the other day. It’s not awful or really noticeable that much but I have a feeling it’s a weak reaction to the high EC. I’m hoping over the next two or three weeks they will stretch nicely into the space I have for them. They look to be going well. Lots of the side branches (I’m talking generally about all plants now) have actually caught up or even overtaken the growth of the main nodes. I think that was a reaction to topping which is nice. They are all looking much more bushy rather than vertical. I will most likely 1. Wait for them to stretch. 2. Tidy up their legs and make sure there is not a lot of foliage near the bottom. 3. Start LST’ing to allow more light into the canopy and generally spread them out even more. I really admire peoples diaries when I see them LST’ing and tying down branches before the plants have even stretched and they kind of grow into the LST’ing. That must take a huge amount of plants grown to be able to anticipate where they are going to stretch out to. I’m going to update with more photos in an hour or two. UPDATE - So I just had a pretty major leak lol. 20l of prepared feed solution went all to the bottom of the tent and ultimately the mop then the toilet. Whoops. I figured out what it was. I dislodged one of the aqua valves when I was extending the pipe so I could move the res to an easier location to move and fill up. It’s been refilled and mopped up now but was pretty annoying. On the plus side I didn’t electrocute myself so separating the power above the lights and anything that has water below worked well. I think maybe I flipped the lights a little early for some of them but oh well. Funnily the tallest one so far is one of the kalini Asia plants and they are the most ‘indica’ so it’s interesting. The cheese plants have the most visible growth nodes though so swings and roundabouts I guess.

Tuesday update Ok so the plants are on a 12/12 cycle now and have been for about a week but I’m not counting it at a flowering weed until I. See pre-flowers at least. I’m surprised they hadn’t really reached sexual maturity by the time I flipped but it’s all good. They are getting to a very respectable size now - more so than that, they all have a really decent amount of growth nodes and are growing outwards more than upwards because of how I have topped, defoliated and got rid of the crap lateral branches at the bottom that don’t do anything. I was actually really amazed at how compact and scraggly they were at the bottoms of the stems when I came back and checked them today. They look much more bushy and straggly than the autos I have grown. I would say there is more need to have lolipopped and topped and stuff than with autos. If you really want you can just leave autos to get on with it and they don’t go TOO bushy at the base where as these really needed a tidy up. I do see a couple of pistols now which is starting to stop my worries about their sexual maturity and time management. With photos are you supposed to veg until you see them pre-flower? Or do they only show pre-flowers once you flip?

Update First actual flower entry but they’ve been on 12/12 for a couple of weeks now I just didn’t think they were actually sexually mature so added an extra veg week entry. All starting to get there now, starting to get all hairy and actually look like they are flowering! I was made aware that I actually could have made the lollipopping and defoliation more effective by doing it twice. Once on day 21 and then again on day 42. It was a tip I heard on the dude grows show from guru so I thought I’d give it a go. He’s very into crop steering so I am assuming he has his timings on point. It’s a little harder to do it on a specific days with autos because they obviously decide for themselves how long they would like to veg, it therefore makes doing it on day # whatever of flower almost impossible. I will go back in at the end of this week and just tidy up the bits that have grown since I defoliated a little early. I’ll also try and go in on day 42 - depending on how big - and impossible to manoeuvre, they are lol I had some really good news from Hoku seed company. I heard an interview with the owner on dude grows show and I piqued my interest. I obviously started a project where I wanted to grow some CBG and maybe other more ‘novel’ cannabinoid strains of cannabis. Well hemp I guess but it really is the same thing. Anyway I reached out asking if I could buy less than 30 seeds as I’m not a farmer, simply a home grower. They emailed back and were REALLY nice. I explained the health problems I face and why I thought CBG might help me and I asked his opinion on the matter. He said he would be happy to send me some tester seeds if I document them for him and send him my annecdotal evidence for how it has helped me. Something I heard him talking about on the podcast that I found interesting was the idea of finding plants that not only have high CBG content but a 1:1 or 2:1 CBD:CBG and even some with THCv. It all sounds very interesting and I’m happy he has agreed to send me some seeds to grow. I have also now ordered my genetics from sweet seeds. I ended up going for the one iv wanted to grow for nearly two years - Tropicanna punch and then I also decided to go for NYC Diesel. I was SO HAPPY they actually have a gassy strain as I was struggling to decide which diesel I wanted by which breeder. I also went for Chem Beyond Diesel (CBD) which is something between a 1:1 and 1:3? I think. Something like that. At most, equal parts and at least a quarter THC so that will be interesting. I will be really interested to see how adding both CBD and CBG into my current regime will alter my mental health. Not entirely sure on which consumption method I will choose but will cross that bridge when I come to it. I was thinking of doing an auto in with them but I’ll probably just use the space for something that will yield better now. I kind of forgot to update this diary so the next one will be later or tomorrow.

Starting to actually see some flowers come in now. I’m still umming and arring what to do about my humidity if anything. It’s not outrageous but it’s also not perfect. I have hooked up another fan to it now which will switch on when It goes above a certain RH but that’s only gonna do so much.

To be honest I’ll probably start digging out the d-slr and macro lens soon I just hate fucking about with the tripod lol Also does anyone know of any decent free software to do focus stacks in? I’m too cheap for photoshop EDIT : Wednesday Ok so I’m putting this here coz I don’t know where else to put it lol. I just received some high CBG weed I bought from the internet. It’s called Orangeade and is 0.09% thc and 16.22% CBG. I literally just vaped my first vape of it and it tasted nice. Iv already used my medication for this morning though. I had one pheno of the Afghan kush auto that is just really weak but was just as oily as the other one when I grew it and I have a feeling it’s a pheno with a slightly higher cbd ratio than the other. Just a bro science feeling but it fits the genesis as well so I dunno. Anyway - my point is I’ll use some either later or tomorrow morning will really be the interesting time to test coz I don’t always feel like getting high first thing in the morning but need something to calm my anxiety and stuff. EDIT AN HOUR LATER: Ok so iv vaped some more now and my thoughts are that I can feel my eyes are different. They feel how they feel when I have red eye but iv not looked in the mirror. They feel as if iv had WAY more weed than I have and because of this and the fact I am slightly stoned it makes me feel way more stoned than I should be lol if that makes any sense to anyone. Obviously I can’t really tell much about mental health effects yet. It kind of takes a while for me to know what’s going on - also I’m not sure if it takes a while to build up in your body to have an effect like that. I dunno. I feel good tho, glad I bought it. I do feel ripped off though, obviously. I don’t think I will ever buy cannabis again and not feel ripped off now that I have had a taste of that grower life! Especially now Iv spent the money to actually bring my room up to where I want it. It took me a long time to actually figure out what I wanted let alone to save up and actually buy it. It’s so hard at first coz you are trying to buy medicine as well as grow equipment. If you can start outdoors - that would be the way to do it. Set yourself up with enough medicine for a few months or so and then use that money to get up and running (however that looks - indoor /outdoor whatever, there’s always shit to buy lol) If not just buy the cheapest light you can at first. I’d say LED’s are abundant enough to where you can get a cheap shitty branded one off Amazon or eBay or whatever and just run it for a cycle and upgrade. I’d say skimp on a shitty light and get the tent, fans/filter and just general environment going well first. I’d say it’s more important. If not definitely as important. I still find it funny I only figured out how to use my inkbird temp and RH controllers properly a few weeks ago lol

I’m not sure how iv been managing to enter my nutrition details so wrong in this diary. It’s the same as the other two I have on the go at the mo anyway. I can definitely start to see the buds are starting to fill out with those little leaves now as well as the pistols. I’m sure they have a proper name. Maybe calyx? I duno. Either way it’s starting to push them out and I can start to actually smell it as cannabis now when I open the tent. It’s banging… Edit: I was just looking at my WiFi camera in the grow room and actually they look kind of nice and some of the buds do look to be fattening quite nicely. Maybe I’m just a bit paranoid and I’m just crossing my fingers lol UPDATE: Friday I bought a new vape yesterday to celebrate the fact I was accepted as a medical patient. At first I was thinking of going with a newer Arizer portable model that uses the same battery as my nicotine vape but then I thought about enails because I do use a lot of rosin when i harvest. It was when I was looking at these I came across the baller devices like the flowerpot, taroma, herbarizor and such the like. I love the way that it essentially takes the rosin pressing step out of doing a dab lol. It’s so cool the way it allows you to clear a whole bowl in one hit just like smoking. In fact if you wanted you could actually just use it to electrically smoke a bong. I ended up going for the Ceroma kit for £210. Comes with the PID, heating coil element, ruby balls and a stand and bowl. It’s also just a standard 20mm coil so I can buy a suitable banger that fits a 20mm coil and do dabs that way if I do wish but to be honest I will just use it for flower. I do have some really small glass pieces but thought I might burn my nose off if I used them so I just bought a cheap £30 glass bong and 18mm-14mm glass joint converter. I can DEFINITELY see myself smashing the glassware but I think it would be pretty fucking hard to break the metal parts! Also If I were to say crack the ceramic housing, at least I would only have to replace that bit. When I had an Arizer EQ I ended up cracking the glass bowl holder a few times. Even in a volcano. If the fan breaks it would b screwed. Also this is like being able to put all the vape from 3 or 4 volcano bags into one and inhaling it in one breath. Should be a beast! update: Sunday Some of these are some of the weirdest looking flowers iv grown yet. Some of them are pretty normal and ‘boring’ but some of them are just plain funky. I don’t quite know why. I don’t think I can see any male flowers but I do have an untrained eye to Hermes to be fair. They just look weird but only on one plant. I mean - iv dug seeds out of a plant that are already brown and nearly done so I know this lot is seeded now but I don’t think it’s going to get any worse now. It’s all good, iv started the next round after this I’ll just have to have a wipe down first really. Hopefully now iv remembered to tape up all the lights it should be ok. Other than the seeded factor things are looking really good. I’m wondering about what the fuck I’m gonna do with all this mostly seeded out biomass. I’m leaning towards hash and then half of that press into rosin. I’m going to keep what flowers I can though - a lot of the main colas actually look remarkably good so I’ll hang them for a couple of weeks in the room they are in now whilst the babies vegetate and then debuck and in that process assess how much seed is in what and what crosses iv ended up with. I would imagine I have at least one of everything with everything. So cheese x kalini Asia, cheese x zkittlez, and fem cheese s1. With the parts that I have loads of seeds I’ll remove the seeds, Chuck the biomass into bins and buy some dry ice then just sift it through bubble bags. That’s what I did before and It worked so amazingly well. The yields are insane and the quality of the extraction is spectacular. I did it with some really shit bud before so the hash in return was shit but the actual extraction was insanely efficient and the resulting hash was a beautiful consistency and colour. It was just super unpotent because the weed that went into it was. Now that I have a rosin press it would be really interesting to press some dry ice hash and see what the rosin is like. It’s also I really good way to cut the space it takes to store all this flower down and makes way for better flower. I do still intend to have a bit of each but honestly 1 out of 7 of the plants just looks like it wouldn’t be horrible to smoke because it’s just full of seeds from top to bottom as far as I can feel. Iv started ‘flushing’ now. I just lowered the ec right down to 0.2-0.4. I didn’t want to cut them off completely - it just doesn’t really make sense but I would like them to start using up what they have in their leaves so they colour up nice. Probably run them for 1-2 more weeks. Probably closer the 2. Then I’m going to cut them and for the first time hang them in the room they are in now because I actually do worry about the smell these days! Also it will be easier to keep a 60/60 environment

These smell really nice. Not like cheese atm but nice. Fuelly and skunky. Very very seedy though. I am definitely going to get some dry ice hash for this lot. It would actually be an easy way to seperate the seeds as well. One or two more weeks now. Just waiting on that fade. It seems like an absolute eternity to be honest when it’s plants I have no interest in finishing! Edit: Thursday They are getting there and actually the cheese plants probably look the most done out of them all atm.

Well I harvested a little different this time. I pulled everything down at once and hung it in the room I grew it in. I was sick of it stinking of bud when I dried! I simply chopped them and snipped the fan leaves off then hung in one piece for each plant. My temps are a little high - I am for 15c 60% RH But the Temp was around 18 or 19 earlier. We’ll see. There isn’t a great deal I can do about it so I tried to mitigate it by hangouts it in one piece and with all the sugar leaves left on! I’ll update the weights in a bit. Not wet but dry in a week or so I took more photos today but they are drying and there’s not much point in weighing them a bit dried. I should get a hang scale to weigh them wet but missed the opportunity so will try remember next time. I will weigh them when dry, should be pretty easy as they r still in one piece still. I’m hoping this will help slow down the dry. They smell AMAZING. They really remind me of the FastBuds Smoothie plant I grew. Super musky and slightly sour and chemy. It’s not exactly how I remember cheese smelling but I do think it’s on the way there for sure.
