I’ve ordered 3 different runs of Mephisto Autos and spent enough each run to get 5 freebies. Since I don’t have much experience running autos and my previous two runs were rather small I wanted to experiment with some different techniques to dial in my auto grows. As Mephisto is highly regarded and genetics are pretty much everything in the growing game I figured their freebies would be a great place to start.
I will be growing:
Two (2)- (Forgotten Cookies x Forum Stomper) x (Forum Stomper x Samsquanch) aka (FCxFS)x(FSxSSQ)
One (1)- (Creme de la Chem x Forum Stomper) x Forum Stomper aka (CLDCxFS)xFS
One (1)- (Creme de la Chem x Sour Stomper) x (Forum Stomper x Skywalker) aka (CLDCxSS)x(FSxSKY)
I used Foxfarms Ocean Forest amended with Down to Earth Vegetable 4-4-4, earthworm castings, perlite, and epsom salt as my base soil. Since I didn’t want to burn my seedlings after filling the pots I dug out a hole and fit a solo cup in the middle of the pot creating an open space and filled this with Foxfarm Happy Frog. I gave each pot a good watering in the center and placed each germinated seedling in the happy frog mixture and the covered each seed with a clear plastic humidity dome.
Not all the seeds germinated and sprouted at the same time so I have 4 plants staggered over 4 days with different sprout dates.
I’ve ph’d my water to 6.5 and water the seedlings with a spray mister 15 sprays 1-2 times a day until they show a second set of serrated leaves. Once their second set of serrated leaves are out they will get 4 oz. of water ever other day slowing increasing the amount of water as they get bigger.
I’m going to do updates on these 4 girls off of the oldest plant which is now 2 weeks old since she was planted in the soil. The growth of this girl can be categorized as “explosive”. Even though she is only a couple of days older then the other girls in the tent she is more then double any of their size. The other (FCxFS)x(FSxSSQ) is growing well and fast but nothing like her sister. I’ve been seeing steady growth from the other girls in the tent as well. They did start to receive fish shit with their waterings and some recharge as well from left overs from my current photo run. I’d say each plant is receiving 4-8 oz. of water every 3-4 days.
All 4 Ladies are doing well. The FC #1 continues to be the biggest of the 4 by far. Nothing major as far as feedings or nutrients, just fish shit regularly and recharge once a week. I hoping that some of these smaller plants start to catch up to their big sister.
Through 28 days and all 4 girls are full into flower. I suffered some nitrogen toxicity towards the ends of week 3 that is still showing some effects but not nearly as bad. You can see some clawing in the leaves on some of the smaller plants. My guess is I created too hot of a soil mixture when I added my dry amendments so the ocean forest at the start of the grow. I will be cutting down on what I add to the soil for my next grow. I fed the girls 3 tbsp. a compost tea made from over ripened banana peels, earthworm castings and a TSBP per gallon of Roots Organics 0-12-0 seabird guano. (which the plants loved).
Another good week for these ladies. I did start to see some Cal-Mag issues so I’ve added Bush Doctor Cal-Mag to their feedings. At the start of the week I did some lollipoping and defoliation to encourage the plant development to the bud sites. A few of the pants were also growing very compact so I did do some minor LST to open the plants up to get light to the flower sites as well. All 4 girls were given Gia Green 2-8-4 at 1 tbsp per gallon of media and that will be the last of their amendment feedings. The last remaining feedings will be done via Compost Teas.
Onto the 3rd week of flower for these girls and I’m still getting some spotting on the fan leaves on 3 of the 4 plants. I’ve continued to feed the girls cal-mag with their waterings and with this being an organic grow there’s not much I can do. I’m hoping as the microbes break down the Gia Green feeding they got 2 weeks ago that the plants will grow through the issues. Other then that everything seems to be growing well. The buds are in full form and have started to develop trichomes. The next 2 weeks will be fun to watch the buds fill out and develop.
Another week of flower for these girls. Still dealing with some nutrient deficiencies which you can see by the yellowing/spotted leaves. I think I’m going to give them a feeding of the down to earth 4-8-4 rose and flower to provide some food before they finish out. Even with the deficiencies they are continuing to bud out and add frost. Each plant has a very strong and distinct odor, hopefully they can pull through the next 3-4 weeks and put out some good smoke.
This past week was very eventful as a grower. I was seeing some deficiencies with all 4 girls due to the fact that I should of given these girls another dry amendment feeding the end of week 2 start of week 3 of flower to carry the plants through harvest. However this feeding was missed and the fan leaves were fading way too soon and was worried the buds wouldn’t have the food to properly develop. To fix this I used a dry amendment feeding of the Down to Earth 4-8-4 Rose and Flower at a half rate. (I used DTE because it breaks down into usable food faster then Gia Green) I then brewed a compost tea of over ripened banana peels, earthworm castings, blackstrap molasses, and roots organics 0-12-0 seabird guano for 36 hours and fed each plant around a 1/2 gallon a piece of the tea. To say the results were great would be an understatement, all of the girls loved this feeding and responded exactly the way I hoped. Bud development this last week has been fantastic and each plant has developed rock hard buds all with a very unique “sweet’ smell. All these girls are back on track for harvest in 10-14 days so from here on out they will be fed water pH’d to 6.5.
We’re getting really close to harvest on these girls, I’ve been giving them nothing but water the past 5-6 days. They all have a nice fade on them as they are finishing out. Really excited to get these chopped and dried.
@S7AUGHTERHOUSEV, feel free to post it the grow diary. If those are the clones you were growing at week 2 I would wait until the plant is at least 3 weeks old before taking leaves down. My Square1/Robinhood grow are on week 5 and I haven’t removed a single leaf from any of them. Those big leaves are powerhouses for vegging plants, just soaking up light.
@KAPT_SAVE_Da_HOE, This is my first Mephisto grow so I’m really looking forward to seeing how they turn out. Their stuff has a lot of positive reviews so hoping for the best.
