Girls are looking pretty happy! The buds are slowly putting on mass, and we're seeing more frost on the sugar leaves. And they're stiiilllll stretching. Some of the tops are growing really close to the light so I have a few options:
A) supercrop the offenders midway through flower.
B) Weave them behind other tops to push them horizontally
C) Let them hang out close to the light and observe their behavior.
I've decided on B with a fallback to C. I would prefer not to bleach my tops if possible. Most of my research would have me leaning away from supercropping this far in. I think I could get away with stressing her out that much in weeks 1-2 but I think at this point it would affect my yield, as the offending tops are the strongest flowers on the plant.
I'll be reducing the Foxfarm Grow Big in the next week which will reduce the N, and up the P/K ratio. Probably give her one more defoliation as well.
This is my first grow. If you're browsing here and see a potential issue with the grow I would love to know about it.
See ya next week!
they will evoporate fast. the quality will definitely suffer. a real bummer indeed. maybe google fridge drying for cannabis if it speaks to you it may help you in this situation. just an idea.
@DadGrowsTomatoes, you're telling me dude. I just had to supercrop the main branches 1 month in because they were touching the light. leggy ladies. Thanks for the kind words.
On the plus side, that is them finished stretching. Took me a while to get used to the stretch, but not all is lost and everything is a lesson. This will be epic, now following to keep up with your grow bro. Keep the faith! 💩✊💚💚💚
@Jobbie, It's been exciting to see the flip because ive been nursing a green plant for 2 months. I expected pretty much what's happening because of my research (watching lots of mr. Canucks & others on yt) but I do find myself just sitting and admiring my work here and there. And there's the excitement to seeing what kind of phenotype I have. It's like opening a kinder egg. It's a really cool plant because week to week it's so different than the last. Not looking forward to trimming, but you gotta do what you gotta do. Calling me bro is fine.
@pund3r, also apologies, I have no idea what gender you are and called you bro. I'm super excited for you, my first grow was a complete mess because I did not research and just listened to others. Has it been exciting? Better or worse than expected? I was surprised by the stops and starts where for a few weeks there is nothing to do, then there's hours of work in a few days.
@Jobbie, hey, thanks bud! This whole grow has been a learning experience, and thankfully I did a ton of research to not be a complete noob.
I planned to flip these nearly 2 wks sooner, but my clones kept dying off. If i had, I think I would have had a little more mercy from the stretch. rapid rooters took my clone success from 0% to 100%. next run ill have the knowledge of not only how much they stretch, but exactly how long they need to be flowered. If this is the worst of my failures in a first grow I'd call that a success. There's still time to mess it up though lol. I'll do my best! Thanks for the support!
@love_2_grow, Thanks! It's my first real go at it, so I'm trying to learn what not to do. Pretty sure I topped a little prematurely, and hit her early with nutes in amended soil and got a little burn. Hoping my mistakes are small ones in the future.
