Looks like I used plain water too long. Candyland has started showing sign of a cal/mag deficiency. I’m growing Bruce Banger at the same time, using the same water, BB is not showing signs of cal/mag deficiency.

A week after topping pheno 1 and 2 and FIMing pheno 3. Number 2 is still the stand out. It has become very bushy and has many tops already. Lower branches are stretching to end up at the same level as the newer growth. A very flat, level canopy. I really like the way this plant is growing, but it feels very indica for a mostly sativa. The other two are probably closer to what they would call sativa growth. More to come.

Flipped to 12/12 on June 6. Lots of stretching this week so, I decided to flip to flowering. FIM plant, pheno 3, looks the least recovered. Topped plants look super healthy and ready to rock and roll. 8-10 weeks til harvest! Early to mid August harvest.

Plants are doing great. I’ve never used a scrog net but I’m going to start training the plants into it this week.

Photos they look a bit droopy. They got watered a little late. 😬 Mixed up a bunch of top dress 1 c worm castings 1/2 c Gaia Green Bloom 2.8.3 1/4 c G.G. All Purpose 4.4.4 I top dressed each plant with 3T of this mix. I cleaned up the plants so that the plant wasn’t wasting energy on bud sites that would never produce quality buds. It allows for better air flow. I started to use a net at the top of the plants. This is the first time I’m using a net. It will help me keep everything at the same height. I don’t think it’s a true Scrog. Last time things got top heavy so adding a second net should help with that. I started to think that the phenos were starting to act and look alike, but pheno 3 started flowering already (see photos). It’s the one pheno I didn’t get a clone of. I took one today, but I don’t know if it will work. We will see.

Added a Scrog net last week. Stretch has happened almost over night it seems. They are starting to grow through the netting and I’ve been carefully weaving the stems to keep the top level. I noticed that the stems are more likely to snap then other varieties I have grown so I’m very careful. I crushed and twisted some of the stems that I was worried about snapping instead of risking a snap. All have started to flower nicely now. Pheno 1 is still a week ahead of the others. Add molasses this week instead of just recharge. I cut back on the cal mag based on others saying you don’t need it. I’m watering every 2 days. With this schedule I don’t seem to have the soil gnats, like I did last run.

Pheno 3 has long spaces between nodes and doesn’t seem to be stacking as nice. Pheno 1 is similar to #3 but #1 has better stacking. Pheno 2 is lovely. Stacking nicely and looking exactly the way I would hope buds to form. Smell is getting stronger, but I only really notice it when I open the tent. Sweet and candy like. Yum. Taking 2/3 of a gallon of water every other day. Added Exhale, CO2 to the tent a couple f weeks ago. Plants have stopped stretching and all the energy is going into the buds now.

Getting orange hairs on pheno 1. Pheno 2 is still stacking nicely and pheno 3 is maturing, but it’s not the prettiest. It’s a little hotter in the tent 90 F. I realized I didn’t have my light at full strength, so I’ve been turning it up a little at a time. It was at 40% for most of the grow, I’m now at 90%. The hotter temp is good for the CO2.

I’ve decided I need to get the tent temp down. Shooting for 80. Smell is getting stronger.

I’m getting dark purple leaves on pheno 3. I’m amazed how different these 3 plants are from each other.

Why would the leaves turn purple? Is it just part of it’s “fall foliage”?

you can exagerrate it, if you want, with temps below 68F at night. if avoiding this stops the color-change, you know it's more environmental but can be genetics too. can exacerbate the displayed trait, if you want too. When it starts reflecting blue and red light (to create a purple color), it's absorbin less PAR. My 2 cents is to not exagerrate the effect, and if genetic enjoy the pretty colors, but this trait likely negatively impacts photosynthesis. i'm not a fan of it, but meh, small potatoes from what i can tell. (limited effect)

Genetics my dear Watson....Granddaddy Purple (or GDP) is a famous indica cross of Mendo Purps, Skunk, and Afghanistan. This California staple inherits a complex grape and berry aroma from its Mendo Purps and Afghanistan parent, while Skunk passes on its oversized, compact bud structure. GDP flowers bloom in shades of deep purple

@NaturesPace purple leaaves can come from cold night time temps nutrient deficiencies or in Your case this is purely from genetics and this particular phenotype is showing its beautiful coloration some breeders will actively select these phenotypes so that future generations will also exhibit similar coloration
