Week 1 stuff: I use the glass of water method for 24 hours, then transfer to paper towels. Each seed popped and once I saw leaves out the top and a tap root out the bottom, I put them in the bubble buckets. Everything looks good so far.
Hey Folks,
Girls are getting bigger and the roots are stretching down and look healthy. Had some slight burning when over adjusting ppm, but it’s now corrected.
As for week 2, I’m just topping off with plain RO water as needed and adjusting ph.
Thanks for looking!!
Hey everybody. So my root structure is established so I thought it would be a good time for their 1st topping. Once the nodes grow out a little, I will be establishing the “mainline” in the next week or so. Note: if you try this method, be very gentle so you don’t break anything off during LST. It won’t ruin your grow, but it will definitely take more time to regenerate. The temp in the tent has went up because I have turned the light up to 75% from 50% . I will not be going any higher in veg. Also in veg, I switch fans once a week to prolong there use as well and give the girls air from a different direction. I turn and leave both on through the whole flowering cycle.
Let me know if you have any helpful comments or questions. I’m not too proud to receive advice.
Peace and happy growing folks!
Hey everybody. Well the aggressive feed was a bust for 2 of the 3. It was something I saw and wanted to try. Experience is the best teacher. I’ve greatly reduced the ppm in the feed to hopefully get things back on track after the topping and light defoliation associated with mainlining. The humidity went up due to a rainy week.
Happy growing folks!
Hey everybody,
I forgot to mention that I’m complete with topping for 8 tops per plant. At this point, I’m growing for size. I’ve added the tomato rings for support. Once they get 6-8 inches over the top ring, I’ll do the Kushman Chiropractic technique, wait 1 week, then flip to flower.
As for now, just keeping them healthy and free from pests!
Oh, I’m also not going to be adjusting the amount of nutes in the diary. I’m using the GH flora trio RWDC chart and still on early feed. Next week with be the late feed nutes.
Hey everybody,
Just keeping the ladies healthy until next week. Then I will be defoliating and lollipopping them and giving them time to recover before flipping to flower. The Dos is a little behind and I really don’t want to hold up the rest of the tent.
Thanks for looking
Hi everybody,
This was the pre-flower routine and prep for the ladies. On Friday, I came in and did a light defoliation, pinched off some excess nodes, and did the Kyle Kushman chiropractic technique on each branch (even the little ones) in prep for flowering Day 1
Hey everybody,
Good first week of flower. Plants still look healthy even though they’ve been eating pretty aggressively. The Dos is the runt of the tent but I couldn’t wait any longer. I’m excited to see how things turn out. As far as defoliation is concerned, I’m not touching anything until day 21. This give the plants a stress free beginning flowering.
Hey everybody,
Week 2 is over and it was good. The ladies are aggressively with no issues. The dos seems to be behind in size, so I propped her up to create a more even canopy. Note: if you do these with a cardboard box, please waterproof the box (put it in a trash bag first) before placing it on the floor of your tent. This is in case you develop a leak (in hydro), the box won’t disintegrate causing your plant to fall over.
Looking forward to the upcoming weeks!
Thanks for reading
Hey everybody,
It’s day 22 of flower and that means defoliation day. I also defoliate on day 42. This is in an attempt to get more direct wind and light on bud sites to promote large bud growth.
The girls are doing just fine and the plants are eating comfortably. Due to the stretch, I’ve had to supercrop a few of them to even out the canopy and keep them from burning.
Thanks!
Hey everybody,
Things are going well in the tent. I switched TDS meters and now my ppms are reading lower. Had to supercrop a few to keep things fairly even. The trop seems like it’s showing a red/ purple color and tric production is in high gear. I have a drying tent, so I will be pulling these as they finish. Thanks for looking
Hey Everybody,
The ladies are doing just fine. In hindsight, I should have ran 2 instead of 3 or shortened my veg to 4-5 weeks, but I’m all about maximizing the space and light. The trop poison is a 7 week strain, followed by green crack at 8, and dos at 9. My goal is to focus the light on the finishing plant as the weeks approach. When the trop is done, I’ll chop it and move the green crack under the center of the light.
As for doneness, it way too early too even start checking.
Note: I’ve been having success with stabilizing the PH by:
Mixing and aerate nutrients one week prior to application.
Monitor and adjust plants every 12 hours.
Finally, the RH is high, thus the 2 fans as well as the active intake fan below the canopy to ensure constant air movement. Haven’t ever had a problem with m***. (Won’t jinx it tho!)
Excited to finish and flush these girls!!
Thanks for looking folks!
Hey everybody,
This week went well. The trop has at least 2 more weeks. She still needs to mature and swell a bit more. Just did the day 42 defoliation and things are looking good. Smooth sailing until flush time.
Thanks for looking.
Hey everybody,
So I’ve decided to move the Trop poison to the drying tent for its 3 day dark and dehydration period. I read somewhere online (so you know it’s right….) that some university did a study and it said 3 days of dark adds a level of stress that helps with tric production on potentency. Figured I’d give it a go. I will report everything once I chop, dry, and jar. And yes, I am still running a pump and stone right up until chop.
As for the dos cookies and the gc, both are doing well and will definitely benefit from the extra room in the tent. Can’t wait to see them finish.
Thanks folks
Hey everybody,
The Tropicana poison is middle of the drying process, thus not in the tent. The GC and the Dos are doing well. The dos took a while to start “nugging up”, but now she’s getting chunky. The GC is looking great. Very hearty strain I will definitely run again. Unfortunately got a few foxtails due to insufficient super cropping/lst. Oh well, lessons learned. Definitely getting heavy though, and the trics are mostly cloudy, but I like to see a tiny bit of amber before I chop sativas.
I will start the flush now with non-ph’ed RO water.
Thanks for looking folks!
So the yield was a bit disappointing due to operator error. I used massive bloom throughout the full flowering cycle which caused it to stretch a great deal (a rollitup thread covers this topic). Also, I believe that, as well as me not harvesting in sections contributed to a lot of larf. A disappointing amount. Oh well, lessons learned. I will definitely let the others go a little longer than usual to harden up. Also, I like to make gourmet treats with my trim, so nothing goes to waste!
Smoke review: nice calming and relaxing strain. After a 10 day slow dry and a 30 day cure, this strain smokes extra smooth. I get a citrus punch kinda vibe that’s very pleasant. Good for aches and pains and anxiety for me.
Thanks for looking folks
Sweet smelling and very sticky. Super dense buds that have a sweet yet floral profile. It’s currently curing, so I will have the post cure and smoke analysis in one month.
Thanks and stay tuned!
This plant came out super nice. Smells sweet with a citrus hint. Smoke and true smell analysis after a one month cure. Note: I dry down to 50% rh, (about a week) then I jar with boveda packs for one month or longer. Comes out the jar dank if you flushed, dried and trimmed right.
Full harvest numbers:
Dos si do cookies: 2oz bud: 1oz 1.3g trim
Tropicana poison: 2 oz 11g bud: 2oz trim (larf)
Green Crack: 5 oz 13.3g bud: 2oz 11g trim
Total bud: 9oz 24.8 g
Total trim: 4oz 12.3g
Total usable foliage: 14oz 9.1g
Note: I hate trimming and I use my trim so it’s usually pretty chunky with small buds mixed in with the sugar leaves.
