June 6th
- part of a larger grow, and not Featured in any Diaries, this beautiful Colombian Gold, which was FIM’d once re: the double colas, has quietly kept on truckin.
- and I am now keeping this one plant to spoil indoors.
It was decided this morning, Plant was super-cropped and responsible for the Autos to become independant as well lol. Its already under a scrog net with a light schedule steering it right into Flower.
3 weeks at 14/10, then 12/12 will see a Full tent happen for sure, and not stick out the top with a big reach…
- tonight it gets transplanted into the best possible environment. A new 7 gallon bag of ProMix HP bio+myco.
Yep, I’m doing it.
- Nutrients, it had a big Veg feed yesterday; 1L, so it will be an immediate shift to Dilute Bloom Nutes for next feed. With a gradual shift to
Flower, this will be no problem.
*** FYI I’ve been following LegacyMarketFarms nutrient-cycles, and there is not one burnt tip in 38 plants!!! at 11 weeks veg. Thanks Andrew. Bring it on
PS, blue room is gone lol
I’ll back fill the info as we move along, its from 8 strains…
- tonight, I will make the 3gallon transplant into the 7gal bag. And I’ll make use of their Inoculant CONNECT on the exposed roots at that time.
~ later
9th
- prepared the CONNECT Inoculant from PROMIX; equal ratio of water and powder produced a Slurry that was “wiped onto the root-covered surfaces” with a Spatula. ProMix video shows Seedlings being dipped.
This was a healthy 3 gallon pot, with an 11 week old Colombian Gold in Veg. The procedure consumed the Sample easily.
- Connect is easy to use and I’m looking forward to seeing this new Combo in action. The tapered Bag/Packaging from PROMIX is probably closer to 8gal of Substrate, now that the the transplant is complete.
- THANKS PROMIX !!!
* flip between image #4 and #5, it shows the adaptability of cannabis leaves adjusting to new surroundings. 8 hours difference in time between the 2 images… have fun, you can SEE the change
10th
- fed very slowly, 3L of Liquid Nutrients for breakfast, (5:30am) Including Bloom Microbes. PS, not one drop of run-off. This is the first taste of what’s coming down the pipe
- after a couple weeks of 14/10, I will switch the diary to Flower for the 3rd and last week at 14/10. 12/12 follows. But a shift in Nutes is happening now
12th
- moved it all into the 4’ tent and turned the light UP. Top Leaf temps etc etc. shooting for 25c in the room and 23.0 on top leaves
13th
- centred and re-scrog’D / a.m.
- established new max light height. Establishing lite-Strength %, via top-leaf temps. Then VpD can be dialed in for the long haul.
* last grow saw me keep a higher RH% and it was my nicest Buds ever. KEEPING THE RH% High throwout this grow~ 65%+. Trying to establish something variable with consumer products… like maybe humidifiers that stay on etc, and dont need to be restarted… after st/pt achieved… damn and a lol
-Cheers Growmies
June 13th
- 2nd week of 3, at 14/10 lite schedule
- day 4 since last meal (3L)
- Rezin has been added to the Menu now that light exposure has been reduced (18/6 down to 14/10). Getting things ready for Flower.
-3 weeks at 14/10 and then 12/12. This move will reduce Reach, at least keep it to a minimum. Just started week 2 of 14/10
15th
- today I shared my frustrations in attaining any consistent conditions within the 4’ tent, w/ Andrew at LMF.
Even when using a small 150w lite. A beautiful one at that; MarsHYDRO…
But my top temp leaves kept spiking in temp ie: 26c+. even though my height of the lamp is over a meter above the canopy, I kept I keep having to reduce the lites output strength, today its down to 25% at lites-out. And I had finally achieved a break between room and leaf. Crazy stuff, and you wonder about quality of Light at those reduced #’s. (Full spectrum-wise, not manufacturer trashing)
- in speaking with Andrew, it was decided to establish a stable, Base-environment while the lites are Off.
Exhaust flow was moved to the absolute MINIMUM. Even though it says 400 cfm, right now its not needed. And I bet most people go right to 30-50%… for the first time, and carry on… It is now placed on the Lowest speed.
We get Minimal loss of the tent environment, to begin with. Humidity targets suddenly becomes easier to achieve in a room with Less turn-over. Heat etc. is the same.
With less airflow going out the exhaust, not as much Humidity is actually needed to maintain 60%, and that number I can be maintain… with current gear (pictured)
There are Three(3) flap vents in the tent, they are all rolled-up and open, making this atmospheric, air in and out. With two fans blowing different layers of air around, there is fresh air movement in and out and rh control… within. Bonus
Its all fine, we are in the dark still, and now the Tent exhaust fan is physically plugged into the Inkbird Temp Controller; “Cooling” outlet. And it kicks in 1degree above room temp, which is going to happen at Lights on… ensuring the tent is being mechanically turned-over
- thats how the system sits, quietly circulating internally at 25c with no exhaust fan, and steady 60% rh 1.5 hours later…
* the tent walls are slack ! There is a balance inside and out, its getting fresh air.
See what happens at lights on. TS-1000 is over a Meter above the canopy and was last at Only 25% strength.
- No PAR meter available within my reach. Might be APP time to get a better idea of whats falling on the plant
- one of the fans has been re-directed so that its airflow is pointed directly below the TS-1000, pushing the hottest air out of the way right off the bat.
- the fan on the floor is now angled upwards at a 45 degree angle, into the heaters opposite corner TBA
- fed 3L over about 15 min
- room was just over 27c, exhaust fan speed was increased #2 setting. Found 2 more inches of height, left lites at 25% power… top leaf was 26+
- increased fan speed below lite to hi. Wait 30min
16th
- huge heat and humidity are swallowing this region and thats part of the problem… have found peace in the room with 26.5c and canopy at 25c hurray. Set-point is still 24.5 lol
- ts-1000 at 20% 1.2m away from canopy…
17th
- break in the weather finds the tent holding a 26.5c room avg and a top temp of 25.5. Almost too close, but for now its great.
- system exhaust fan steady on #3 setting, nonissues holding 65-70%RH
- getting my head around an air conditioner, inside the tent, w/ plant … summers coming
- room was 24.5 this morning and a canopy temp of 22.9. I’m calling that perfect
19th
- Last day of week 12, end of the 2nd week at 14/10 light schedule, transitioning gently into FLOWER. Final week of 14/10 starts tomorrow.
Then 12/12
- 2 gallons of Bloom Nutes being prepped. Planning to water through to run-off tomorrow p.m. when the lites come on. That will be a first for this effort
- testing an idea with an old fan. I’ve always struggled to keep up with RH% targets… then the controller shuts off the humidifier and thats it. Now I’m simply making a little more Humidity than I need, and venting the excess via the inkbird humidity controller and the DeHumidifier outlet / function. Now Instead of hitting 75% RH and shutting off, It SIMPLY dumps the rooms RH to 65% now, then the exhaust stops. This system is keeping it between 65-77% RH
June 20th
- last week of Veg
- dinner tonight will include watering to run-off
- tremendous growth is happening and tiny Hairs have started to appear at Bud sites.
- 2 weeks of 14/10 lighting have been used, and after this week its a switch to 12/12, officially flowering
- working the plant into the front right corner; a/c goes in the back left
21st
- fed 3 gallons of dinner. Not one drop came out of the bottom lol. And I realized it would take a mini Flush to “break through”. An additional 5 gallons of water was pH’d to 6.5 and methodically fed through the new HP bag. The effluent that finally dribbled out was a Solid 5.0… so glad I acted on flushing. At the end of 8 gallons the substrate run-off was 5.8, and thats all I had in me. Next meal ( in a week ) will have a elevated pH to help shift the soils pH closer to 6.4.
Too bad the water did not go in first !! That’ll be a few % off the final yield doh, flushing dinner away at a crucial time. Healthy pH, carry-on
- sharing some space with a week 5 AutoFlower Zamaldelica… in the corner
23rd
- dropped the lighting to 13/11
- 12/12 in 3 days, Officially flower mode
24th
- grow seems to be Aggressive and Vibrant at the same time
- 3 weeks of reduced lighting comes to an end the 26th. Then we are in Flower
26th
- soil amended last nite with Gaia Green Power Bloom Fert, Azomite and Kelp Meal + (dried Fan Leaves) aheadnof its next Meal. Scratched into the top 2” of HP substrate. Soil is Moist still, dinner is a day or two away yet. Pot weight will dictate when that meal happens. The previous meal was a Biggie, soil has gotta become Dry to a larger degree ahead any next feeding… gotta start a smart/aggressive schedule with Patience right up front
- a 3 week transition into Flower ENDS TONIGHT. Timer will be re-set to 12/12 and we are there.
-OK people, zero stretch has been achieved. Normal growth is everywhere ! Vibrant, and piling-on top of everything else.
- FLOWER; tomorrow morning
- real camera pics tonight, last day of Veg. Its Fair to say its Day 91 for the Plant, above ground
- lite is set for 12/12, transition complete
June 26th
- first 12-hour nite of Flower
- soil has been amended
- dinner is still a day away (big meal on 21st)
- tying a defoliation (Schwazze) with the next meal… hoping its tomorrow!!!
- tea is brewing; bloom microbes etc here it comes we’re in Flower.
- And applying a true Schwazze (large/Med leaf removal) will be a First full-scale assault for me, Yep’r. Plant looks so healthy, its a full collection of Green on a Scrog net. No lollipopping, so its gonna be based on Getting rid of Shadow makers and Nutrient hogs. Now we feed the Bud sites
28th
- last nite the soil was still too moist to feed the plant. This also pushed-back the Defoliation that was planned for Day 1 of Flower. Here on the morning of day 3, I have removed maybe half of the larger Fan leaves and obvious Shadow-makers.
Knowing this practise happens again on day 20 of Flower, I’ve got a bit of time to think over stripping more leaves next time. Plant behaviour will dictate
- still makes me nervous removing so many leaves, I’ve gone too far in the past. This method is seeing so much use, it needs to be attempted
- not quite a half-assed attempt, (~ 40 leaves removed) but there is more coming in 17 days (July 15th)
29th
- realized that the Plastic Tent-liner on the bottom, must go. It (4’x4’ rigid liner) provided the assurances I needed when there were 38 plants germinating. Now I will be needing the A/C in the tent as this grow progresses and the liner wastes Inches at every opportunity, so it goes tonight (29th). Removing it will also give me another Couple Inches of head-room for stronger DLI’s
- last re-scrog, tonight (3rd effort) tent is going to appear FULL in next pictures
- it took all of the 2.75 gallons of dinner before there was any run-off. 3 gallons were fed, then there was just over 2L of run-off. Its a Good starting point, those volumes will be dialed-in.
- No i did not test the run-off re: pH / tds; I just made sure that “run-off” happened.
July 2nd
- last day of week 14, and the First week of Flower
July 3rd
- first day of 2nd week in flower
- last fed on 29th (3gal = 2.5L run-off)
- Water is the next meal in the cycle: nutes - nutes - water. Planned meal Posted above ~ 600ppm nice break for the plant, water portion of the cycle feeds the Roots and new bud development
- soil must also be ready, pot lifting is first action tonight..
- trying to find the right volume of dinner that will produce the desired run-off, without being wasteful. 3.5G was too much last time, re run-off volume. but there was no run-off until 2.75L of the 3G dinner had been added… which is kinda funny. I watered slowly as well, so the next meal will 3G. See what kind of run-off we get, if any
July 5
- hoping that Colombo needs a meal tonight; day 7 since last one. She looks strong and there is development daily as she swallows up the Scrog
- meal posted above
- adding some Worm Castings to the substrate tonight; 1-2”
July 7th
- switched lights out as the ts-1000 is a great lite, but at 10% power the light source is not big enough for a 4’x4’.
- Phlizon 4500 has been re-hung and we have much more lite in the tent, a 1.5c delta between room and canopy temp and its running nicely at 11%. There is a huge difference in the amount of light available to the plants…
July 9
- dinner tonight 100%
- last day week 2 of Flower
July 10th
- first day of week 3 Flower
- plant fed last nite; 3.5L Bloom Microbe/Enzyme Tea/Molasses Tea, with full Nutrient mix
- Schwazze #2 happening July 15th. 20 days into Flower
- main-light changed last week. TS-1000 was doing a good job in 4x4. I just needed a bigger light source
- extra holes carefully poked in the lower portion of the HP bag to aid in substrate drying time.
- 10% HP bag size will be the volume for ea. of the next three meals; 2.5L then feeding to run-off for the 4th, next meal.
I’ve Got to increase the cycle speed. Shorter times between feeds, of course means smaller meals, better uptake
July 15th
- day 20 in flower means its Schwazze day, tonight. Yep, “Schwazzing the Scrog”, so we’ll see how that goes.
- adding B-Vital from NPK to the dinner that follows, for Stress relief
- happy to see Lots of Sugar Leaves along the branches… that will make picking the Fan leaves a little easier to do. Shooting to remove 75% of Fan leaves
- no dinner tonight, going to wait that 1 extra day…
16th
- last day of Week 3, Flower
- stress reducing B-Vital is mixed into dinner tonight
July 17 2022
- Schwazzed on the 16th
- 70% of the buds Pistils, have started turning pinkish red
18th
- fed 3L welcome to Bloom meal
20th
- Air Conditioner is now tied into control loop, so there are 14 hours in the day of 78F. That provides an hour of 78f at the beginning and end of the dark period. The other 10 hours of 12/12, are now cooled down to 70f while in the dark. It promotes a response, to get busy and make some Buds. That 8-9f gap also widens as we head deeper into Flower. Colours become visible
- fresh pics tonight. And as soon as I took the 2 above, the power went out. Big wind storm…
Tent flaps open in a hot muggy basement
- sugar leaves all seem to be growing fast now. Canopy still airy, but its filling-in. Buds everywhere
July 31st
- week 6 of Flower, real photos tonight
- plant has had a real significant change this week as the Buds have Swollen and the Pistils seem Brighter / Longer. A Sticky attitude seems to be the latest signal that all is going straight ahead
- Fed Tonight, this meal is from the Water portion of the Cycle but will feature some new additions; 0-8-0 +23 ca Bat Guano, Kelp Meal and Worm Castings are brewing as I write this. And then a small dose of Silica, Amino-Acid, Rezin and Terpinator will be added to finish it off.
- Targeting only 1200ppm for ease of digestion lol
- maintaining the 9 degree F Drop in Tent temperature, an hour after the Lights go out. The temp goes back to 78 an hour before Lite-on; 14hr/10hr temp cycle, 78f/69f
4th
- plant has changed gears. Individual Buds are trying to become Golf Balls, thats where she is (wannabee)
- Producing lots of Resin, this plant is hiding a Skunk I believe
- tonight soil gets Amended. The routine diet has featured Microbes; both grow/bloom. The Bat Guano features Microbes as well, but from now on, it will be used as a Soil Amendment, Monthly. Both indoor plants get it (soil amendments) tonight.
- “Its time”
- seeing my first Burnt-tips this season; dang
5th
- Pistiles are super-white, phat and curly. These new nuggets are actually Firming-up, gaining some mass
August 7th
- start of week 6 in Flower
- dinner tonight. First meal into 2nd session of Bloom-nutrient, amended soil for this plant; 1.75gal
-things have ramped up; bat guano included in amended soil. Dinner will be Lite ~ 1000ppm; 6.4pH in a perfect world
- Feed - Feed - Water will still apply as the phood cycle
- lites-on temp 78F
- lites-off temp 67F
9th
- curious about Flowering liquid consumption. Hoping its 5-6 days till ready at this point in the cycle, with this volume of dinner. Not 8
- Buds are definitely getting Firm
13th
- last day of the week
- pH’d Water is on the menu for tonight
- buds are Expanding
Aug 14th
- 1st day week 8 of Flower
- Overdrive is replacing Rezin in the menu
- pH’d de-chlorinated water is on the menu tonight. Its a 2L quickie
17th
- fed a mid-late flower tea; 1.5 gal
- Buds are becoming really dense, building some substance
Aug 20th
- last day of week 8 in Flower
- wicked growth on Colombo is seeing these Buds expand and get dusted in a fine powder-like layer of Trichomes. Must be entering the home stretch
- soil moisture-check tonight; 50% is a green light to feed Nutes in the water-portion of cycle. ie no microbes, but a last crack at specific flowering aids n treats all in one meal (posted above)
Aug 21
- pictures taken last-nite, processed shortly…
- welcome to week 9 of Flower
- amber trichomes found on the buds this morning, zooming in tonight with the Loupe for a closer look
22nd
- fed 3L
25th
- next meal could be water and a flush. Trichome checks tonight, week 10 is next and that's only a couple days away. Time for an accurate status
27th
- last day of week 9, with the main-lite running at reduced power (~20%) I’m hoping the grow is extended slightly… gathering data, flush? Wait ?No Flush?
- Hoping to delay it a bit
- Flush is going to have to wait. Bottom line is there are still soooo many clear Trichomes, the Calendar is no longer in charge!
- Temp control of the canopy itself, led to my having this big lite, turned way down (19%) to maintain a d/p between room and TopLeaf temp. Long story short, will be interesting to see how the Trichomes become Ripe beyond their normal range (AND HOW BIG THE BUDS SWELL)
Aug 28th,
- week 10 starts with an assurance of extra time needed. Clear Trichomes prove the lower setting on the lites strength % will require a longer flower period to truly Ripen this Lady
29th
- dinner tonight 3.5L for Colombo; NPK dinner nutes only + CalMagic = 1000ppm
(next meal will be a semi flush with Water; aka feed to run-off)
Sept 1
- snipping a piece to look at under the scope tonight.
- Amber trichomes are present but the number of clear ones far outweighs amber. “More time please” (same for Zamaldelica)
3rd
- last day week 10 Flower in an extended season
Sept 4th
- entering week 11, this journey could be over any moment.
- trichome checks last week showed an Amber precense, but there was still so many clear ones
- I’ll post the trichome pics this aft, and get new ones tonight. We’re close
5th,
* she gets flushed this afternoon when I return from Purple Dawn Etc., then 72hrs in the dark. Trichomes have had a shift and its time. (Zamaldelica as well)
7th
- 48 hrs in the dark, one more day and then its portraits and a Harvest. FYI, 62-65 F and a RH% of 55
8th
- 70 hours in the Dark is where this Colombian Gold ended her run. Photos taken and into a cold regulated tent; 62-66f and 55% R.H.
- all done growing
No issues with Bugs There was an excursion relating to hi-levels in run-off. That led to some containment issues. Otherwise its a Solid Steady grow. Into the 11th week, indoors
Sept 8th
Well the Colombian Gold (2nd batch) is finally hanging.
62-65f and a R.H. of 57% are the targeted conditions. Hoping for a minimum of 14 days…
14th
- doing a little tent search today, room-mates and bud-rot… it is a nice cold room! I’m sure it will have a positive impact on the Harvest and Cure! Kudos to Andrew and Sarah at Legacy Market Farm for talking me through it.
And you bet I snipped a day 6 Colombian Gold bud. Not N official report, but man I got really high, and not fucked-up. (Cutting the Lawn is next) Seriously delicious, and I’m surprised to say its an obvious Berry finish at this stage. Dry toke, Cloud of Berries. Blown away by taste and impact. Someone say Landrace?
Sept 15
- a week into the Hang and things are terrific. RH is steadier now that the bigger hanging plants have lost much of the initial moisture. Burning that bud proved its a precious crop, wow. Already I can say its the tastiest and strongest pot I’ve grown. Hoping its at least a week before any branches snap. Thats still going to be my main indicator.
- day 7 hanging, the plant has lost about 70% of its available moisture. The Colombian Gold plant weighs 143gr today. (plus the 5gr I grabbed yesterday) All seems in order, now its back in the cold-room
23rd
- day 15 and branches are ALMOST snapping. With a big work-load ahead; Colombian Gold gets trimmed today.
- Thats a Celebration

@1Right_Angle, I feel like we trouble-shot it fairly well I think you got it balanced out good with the tweaks you made. Now the sky is truly the limit for this lady, Again I will say it. " Here sir, Is the new honor & record of healthiest most lush green plant I have EVER seen " Hands over imaginary award ! 😁
Holy crap. This thing is gettin jiggy with it real quick. I CANNOT get over the leafs on this plant, Gotta be the most lush green I have ever seen period.
@1Right_Angle, from horticultural stand point no .if your trichs are ripe your good as your genetics is .if your worried about loosing terps lower day temp with light on .if you want go ahead but i would never do that
@Candog, does that make any sense to you. I’m glad LMF stepped-up and verified some actions.
I’m Not grumpy just asking if it makes any sense. It’s all about Forward.
Cheers Bro
@1Right_Angle, That is something to be proud of for sure. You should get a good quarter pound dry or just over maybe even. Let the dry happen as slow as possible. That little of plant matter, I wouldn't even put a dehu in there. Even on the dry I just did, Looking back I would not even use a dehu on that amount of weed and it would have happened even better. My experience scope is doing this in 8x40 sea cans literally jam packed with plants so the dehu was a must. But I am still figuring out lower plant counts & less plant matter exactly when you need that dehu in there as support to make sure nothing catches mold. But I feel the amount I just pulled down, You would NOT need a dehu on it. So that means so far up to around 12LB wet, No dehu.
@LegacyMarketFarm, Thanks, it was great to have ya tagging along. Amber is throughout, buds are super solid, and there are two much bigger room-mates arriving today/tomorrow. Week 11 of a 6 month grow... It had to start somewhere... Cheers
@amazongrow, the first attempt last winter sealed the pursuit. Ha. Simplicity rocks and this classic hit the spot. This batch had a run-in with a big skunk. Hope it takes a couple weeks to Air out
@CapnDankestein, I hope you have some Fun taking this Lady outside. And thats where she needs to be.
Growing this strain gave me a definite Victory in growing a strong Famous strain. And also left me feeling a little deflated, because the bud tasted of Grape when smoking it…
I do not ever remember there being a Grape taste in Colombian Gold.
I wrote to them asking for some
Clarification; Green House Seeds and they never bothered to respond.
So, I’ll never add another seed to my Collection of this Colombian Gold. I have 1 seed left, and it will be grown outside next Summer.
Its a great weed for a nice Sativa High, you can tell its got a good set of genetics inside… it has just gotten too far from the original host…
Gonna be super excited to see the final yield per plant you got a real good harvest & they are looking great already. I can smell them oozing through the screen
