This guy started leggy as hell. Had two CFLs, a 5w LED grow light, and an aquarium grow LED strip on him. Not enough. This strain needs a 250w HID on it as a seedling. Transplanted him deep a day or two after this photo.
1 week under a strip full spectrum aquarium LED, two 6500k CFLs, and a 5w grow LED bulb. Not enough light to start seedlings. Started very leggy. Transplated after one week into larger pot and buried deep.
Topped 2 days ago. Was out of town on work assignment and came home to a nice recovery. Been dealing with thrips, but the plant is not phased in any way. This is a strong plant. Upped the nutrients a bit this last week. Update: Last day of week 4 and plant is going insane. Overwatered on Saturday and had some taco effect on the leaves. This is a strong plant - shout out to Nirvana and G.O. for providing great products. Thrips are gone and a spider has moved in.
What is up guys. Plant has been going bonkers. Think I've been toasting it in the desert SW sun in the afternoons. Think I'm going to keep her inside; she's happier in there. Plant showing signs of phosphorus deficiency. Hoping to bite that in the butt with some potassium phosphate then keep it simple and light on the GO ferts for a few days/flush out the excess phosporus and iron . Goal is to get her back on her feet and get some liquid guano. She's gonna be huge and in veg for awhile. She's a stinky bitch and I love her. What a beautiful plant. I owe Nirvana a big thank you to what they do.
Been battling nitrate toxicity. The Happy Frog is some hot soil for sure. Flushed it today. Hoping to see a 100% healthy plant by Sunday. Also mixed in some Azomite in the flush. Hoping the clay like substance flushed deep enough for roots. She has a hypnotic smell. Very sweet smell with a strong hint of grape. I've heard of pineapple phenos, but this is grape for sure. Recovering nicely from nitrate toxicity. Tomorrow (sunday), I expect to see crazy growth out in the SW desert sun.
She's gonna be a big plant. Wow. Showing signs of both nitrogen toxicity and deficieny on new growth. Gonna swap over ferts to the bloom line and maybe another good flush?
Over watered it last week, and she's still recovering. That led to iron and zinc deficiencies, and I'm still dealing with too much nitrogen. Going to let her go for a week on her own and give her some micros.
Hi guys. I flushed my plant last night. I had way too much nitrates in the soil. She has already started to recover, but I spotted a leaf with advanced magnesium def. She recovered nicely from the iron def I had during preflower. Going to hold off on fertilizing - the soil is just too hot. Going to give it some natural maple syrup and keep feeding magnesium and micros. Learning how important that dolomite powder is the hard way. I also trimmed up some growth on the bottom 2-3 days ago. Thanks for checking out my diary. End of week update: Recovering well. The hypnotic grape smell has returned and is STRONG. The smell is absolutely orgasmic. Soil has dried a bit from flushing. She will get fertilized on Wednesday. I can't say enough good things about the genetics of this plant. Shout out to Nirvana for such a solid product.
Hi, So all my leaves are pretty much curling under, and I have a couple leaves showing what looks like magnesium deficiency. I'm worried. Is this for sure nitrogen toxicity and will that cause the magnesium deficiency? What should I do?
Hi, Ive been reading your diry up to week 6. And the Good news the Strin you have chosen is very resiliant. Ok here comes the reality. You are feeding way to much nitrogen , starting in week2 and adding every week one fertiliser. (short version). Every Fertiliser... EVERY.... got the same Nutrients N, P, And K...... they are adding up (GO-Thrive, Calmag, Bio Marine... those got Nitrogen... . Yes calmag Tooo , only one percent but its adding up. Its a great descision that you stopped to give those amounts of fertiliser. I would recommend you to read a good helping site that explains how tu use those fertilisers. And if its organic or not chemically its alwys threee comopnets NP and K. ok enough now .
And back to your question. Your plant is looking (surprisingly) healthy, The curling under ist the result of your flushing. She is slightly overwatered. But no problem. You can start giving her Compost teas or (low dosages of P and K those are the elements she need in flower. Every blooming feritliser got it. Holy cow it was a tough week. Had the in laws in town, so I couldn't spend any time with the plant. It almost wilted over from being so dry and then I hadn't been pH balancing my water (didn't know how important it was). What a big mistake, and I can't believe my plant has lasted this long. I was watering with pH of ~5 which led to a massive magnesium deficiency. I lost probably 15 leaves on the bottom, but she is bouncing back. I have learned A LOT from my first grow and I think all the minor issues that I've had were to pH issues. I have been pH balancing with baking soda which I know isn't ideal, but it's working until I can get some calcium carbonate dissolved. The final 4 weeks should be smooth sailing. I can't wait to get my second grow going (I did so many things wrong), and see this to harvest. If I can get this bud slightly better than what is offered in my state, then I'll be happy.
Start of week 5 of flower. On the home stretch. I have fixed the pH issues and she's smelling like grape again and it's looking like she's gonna be a good harvest. Wow. A little low on nitrogen, but nothing serious. Gonna be a good week, and the buds are getting fat quick. Sensi Afghani #1 and Barney's LSD are next up.
Been losing some leaves, and got a phosphorus def going. Gonna up the feedings for the next week and start the flush next week. . Looking like I have 3 weeks at least left. I think I'm gonna get a good harvest despite all the troubles. Learning experience. :-)
Still not even close to ready. Think she has 2.5 weeks left. Been giving heavy doses of calmag and guano tea. Tonight was my last feeding of the plant. Going to lightly water Friday and start flushing next week. She has made it to the finish line and the buds are heavy. I'm very happy with this grow. I've just started an Afghani #1 or LSD (mixed up the seeds) and a Kannabia Purple Kush.
Trichomes are 75% milky with no amber. I think she has 4-7 days before complete harvest. My next journal will be harvest. :-) Buds are huge and she's doing well. Flushed her out this past week, and will do one more large flush before harvest. Thanks everyone for checking this out.
Very content high, relaxed. Also very strong cerebral effect. I love the combination, because it allows me to clear my mind from work life and indulge in some serious shoegaze sessions. Strain has strong psychedelic properties and will send you to space. Synethesia may be expected, and it's smooth as ice. Recommend.
I probably picked it 3-5 days too early, but that's okay. I have a Purple Kush and Barney's LSD in the pipe due around early February. Total harvest was 99g. Trichomes were mix clear/milky with some parts of the plant showing amber. Yield was about what is expected - 3.5 oz. Overall, happy with the grow, and I can't wait to see my next grow.
This is my first grow. Feel free to give advice or comment. Thanks for checking it out. I plan on updating it daily. Soil is primarily Fox Farm Happy Frog. Mixed in vermiculite, pumice, worm castings, and a bit of lime neutralized peat.
Well, if you ask me I’d go with either the OG Kush or the Skunk (but I keep a special place in my heart for all things kush). As far as the mag deficiency is concerned - good call on the flush and hopefully you got it nice and early. Grows lookn good dude! Best of luck, I’ll be watchn for sure!👍
@TheBudWhisperer, I have no idea. I have been having magnesium problems the whole grow, and I don't think it's due to lockout, because it got worse after flushes and my pH is good. I have been giving her HEAVY doses of Calmag with a few pinches of epsom salt per gallon, and the yellowing has slowed the past week. She's been eating magnesium like crazy.
