Mama Mia (MM) and Critical Purple Kush (CPK), both by Seedsman. Planted in Fox Farms Ocean Forest soil under a Mars Hydro FC-E3000 300W light. Using BioBizz as the main nutrient regimen.
Still stretching. Had to increase watering volume to 3L per plant because 2.5 wasn't cutting it. Defoliated & skirted a bit more. Pistils starting to appear in the nodes. Buds are on their way!
Raised the light to accommodate their last bit of stretch. Buds are coming along, and starting to sport trichomes. The ladies are starting to get a little pale. Hopefully the increase in nutrients will sort that out. Now that their buds are starting to come in, I added Mag-Pro and Potash Plus to the nutrient lineup for an extra P & K boost.
Buds are fattening & frosting up. Plant is turning a little greener, which I like to see. Increased water volume to 3.5 L, pretty much have to water every 2 days. Aroma is just starting to develop, may have take my air purifier/deodorizer off the timer and keep it going 24/7 until harvest.
Buds are stacking, trichomes are getting thick. The aroma is coming along: sweet and flowery. The plants' individual resin aromas are developing too. The MM is heavy of tropical fruits, guava, passionfruit. The CPK is sweet, gassy, limey. Seedsman says the CPK is supposed to turn earthy with notes of coffee, maybe that'll develop later?
MM is starting to finish, so cutting her off from nutes from here on out. Found a spot of botrytis on one of MM's colas, killed it with a spray of potent baking soda solution (1.5 tbsp/quart of water). It fried the pistils all over the cola and burned spots in the leaves, but it killed the fungus, so I'm calling it a success. Looking forward to cutting these plants down soon. I want to try them!
CPK started showing signs of finishing, do I cut her off from nutes too. The final flush has begun. The soil is so saturated with nutes that a two week flush probably wouldn't phase them. The colors on both are starting to come out, hopefully the flush will bring them out more. MM's bud rot came back, so I chopped off the top of the cola. Last thing I wanted to do, but it wasn't worth risking the whole crop.
My humidity got a bit high, and one of my plants got bud rot, but CPK did not! Very fungus resistant, very tolerant of heavy feedings. The first plant I've ever grown that produced colas larger than a coke can.
First plant I've ever grown that produced colas larger than a coke can. Very proud of this grow. Gassy rosewater is the only way I can describe the aroma.
Wish you all the best with your babies! Would like to know the composition of your growing medium, it says 100% soil, but I can see pearlite and othesñr things...
