Mexican Sativa

Did not really pay much attention to these babies, just make sure soil stays moist and temp and humidity are alright, they do the rest! Next week they get transplanted to their final home, and the real work begins. Looking forward to helping and watching these girls get big!

***Updated*** Transplanted into their RQS smartpots this week already Cleaned up the tent today. Shiny white! Airpots have done their job, next week my Mexican ladies will be transplanted into Smartpots. The plan is for them to remain in this tent below the Viparspectra (which seems to be doing a great job during the seedling stage and the first weeks of veg) for 3-4 weeks before I change the light schedule to 12/12.

Saw no shock after transplant, possibly also because I sprinkled Mycorrhiza on the roots. The soil is a light mix. I did not mix in fertilizer granules, so I'll use organic liquid fertilizers every stage.

This week I did some Lollipopping by removing the lowest leaves and new points of growth. They were too close to the soil, it's too moist and they don't get much light. I also applied a foliar spray, which I will repeat once a week until ma girls show the first signs of flowering. For the rest nothing interesting to share, everything is going as planned, no disease, no plague, no deficiencies 😊

These Mexican Girls are bushy! Defoliation is almost a daily job now 🙀 They have a little nutrient shortage, my main suspect is iron. So I lowered PH of water solution from PH 7 to 6.5 and applied some Vita Race. Hope this will solve it. Can't get humidity low enough in this small tent that is without intake or outtake fan. Luckily they will move from the apartment to the villa to flower, thoon! 😎

Moved plants from their little flat to a villa. Changed timer from 18/6 to 16/8. Next week to 14/10 and week after to 12/12. I don't know if this has advantage over directly 12/12 but it feels more natural to me 😏 I recently started my Bokashi bucket, this week I had my first homebrewed Bokashi ready to feed my plants, they will slowely make the transition from Plagon to Bokashi. The new Bokashi batch has many potasium rich scraps in preperation of the Flower stage. I also feed the leaves after defoliation, it's CANNAbalism 😇 You might not see it but every 2 days or so I deleaf a lot but the plants re-foliate faster than I defoliate 😂 No problems, no bugs, just pure growing pleasure so far 👍

I stopped with the Bokashi, it was interfering with soil ecosystem. This week my biggest effort was to restore aerobic micro-organisms by making compost/nettle (including the roots!) tea with airstones. Bokashi is for anaerobic fermantation. In the future I'll also let the liquid compost in soil before I use it for my plants! Put my ladies on a 12/12 schedule last sunday (4 days ago) let's see how much they'll stretch!

These girls need a LOT of defoliation, the amount of leaves they produce per week is crazy! But I don't mind, cropping my ladies makes me relaxed. Made a compost tea from stinging nettles + forrest nettles, roots included for beneficial microbes. Let is bubble with airstones for 3 days, beautiful! Smelled like healthy, rich soil!

Nothing special, just giving 2 liter per 2 days of water with Bloom Nutrients. Super easy plants, not demanding and very forgiving of PH mistakes. Again, lots of defoliation, just like my gray hairs, for every leave you pick, 2 come back 😁 They get recycled, nothing gets wasted!

Girls got purple leave stems and purple stripes on main stem. Did some research, not too worried about it. Could be something up with nutrients but also read it can be effect of using LED lighting on certain strains. Girls look healthy so not changing my routine. Anyone perhaps got some info/wisdom to share with me on the matter of purple stems?

Took this week's photo's with only the Spectro-light on and the Migro turned off. I don't need to explain why, it just looks awesome! 😎 1 of the 2 Mexican Sativa's looks a bit yellowish, especially on the new growth, so don't think it's N-deficiancy. Hard to tell and adjust when growing organic. Changing the PH from 6 back to 6.5 because I read the plant can absorb K better at PH 6.5 when growing organic and N better at PH 5.5-6 Any truth to this?

So far everything good! No severe nutrient shortage nor toxicity. No disease or pests. My Mexican Ladies just chilling and bulking. Starting to smell Wonderful!

Last week only lots of tap water for my Mexican Ladies. Her leaves got a bit yellow but that was expected and planned. Today was the day to thank them for their service and I cut them both down to drie, with all leaves included except for the fan leaves. Can't wait to see and test the results! She is not a heavy packer, in weight it won't be a lot but I am aiming for Quality > Quantity 😏

Sorry I forgot to take pictures of the drying and harvest, and by now the harvest is far from complete anymore 😇😂 I only cut the fan leaves, let her dry in a closet between of 16-18 celcius and humidity of 65%. It took 3 weeks.
