She was soaked in a pH’d water solution with 20ppm gibberellic acid for 24 hours she cracked her shell within 12 hours of wetting. Her rockwool and associated hydrotron was also soaked for 24 hours in a pH’d water solution with 20ppm gibberellic acid. After the 24 hour soak the seeds rockwool and hydrotron were placed in a 3” net pot with a nutrient feeding tube attached to the bottom. I will keep an eye on the rockwool to make sure it doesn’t dry out. However I think the capillary action through the hydrotron will be sufficient. I was looking at Hawaiian Wave when I added this net pot to the tank and the bottom inch of the hydrotron was damp.
They are looking awesome I couldn’t be happier. If you look closely you will see that one of the first true leaves is webbed. I’ve never seen this on the first leaf before. Initially I thought it was a wide leaf but it’s actually webbed. Breeders have tried to isolate webbed leaves as it greatly increases the surface area.
They are coming along very nicely. I took my first cutting from the mother this week. I cut her back to the 4th node and began cloning the cutting. I trimmed the leaves and branches below the top and put her in a net pot with about an inch of her stem extending below the pot that was dipped in clonex gel. I put the net pot in my veg tank and hopefully I’ll get roots in the next week or two. Thanks again for looking!
Short week this week. One of the two quick critical plus is at 12” so I’ve moved her to flower. The smallest one is about 9” now. I’ve cloned the mother once and mommy and baby are fine. This diary will continue only with the one in flower. Let the show begin!
She’s of flower to a great start! I’m hoping that she will stretch out to about 30 inches but I suspect that it will probably be closer to 24” but we shall see!
She looks awesome! I supercropped her main stem and tied it over the end of the week. I’ll leave it tied for a couple of days to stimulate the side branches growth.
What a week she broke free from the tie I had but 4 radials are now at about the same level and there wouldn’t have been room for me to lower the hps. She has some premature yellowing on her lower leaves so I’ve increased her feed strength from 3/8 to 1/2.
She is still showing a potassium deficiency. Next week I will increase the feed to 10ml/gal AB and 5ml/gal additives. You can see her buds are developing very nicely.
🤦♂️ I have root rot 😞 I bought a commercial duty air pump to replace my 5 large aquarium pumps. It has air to spare feeding my 8 12” air stones 😁 but it gets hot. The pump was over 90°F and the manifold was 81°F so basically I was pumping hot air into the nutrient solution directly below each plant. I have added air conditioning around the air pump and now I have the manifold temperature at 71°F still a little warmer than I would like but I am hoping it will be fine. I’m probably going to lose this plant and the Gorilla but I’m going to try cleaning the roots in a H2O2 bath and see if I can save her.
I have her cousin (the 2nd runner up from the mother selection) in flowering now and will incorporate her back into this diary (she is 2 weeks behind but absolutely beautiful).
She is doomed 😂
We hung her for about 4 days and then had a smoke. Lemon flavor like her mother (Critical Plus) and a nice high like her mother.
As I said on the last update I will just switch this diary over to the other Quick Critical I didn’t choose as a mother plant. She looks much better than this one ever did. She is about 2 weeks behind (17 days) so the diary weeks won’t match but I’ll be sure to label the weekly photos.
I think she has a potassium deficiency (yellowing tips on edges). She is hungry! Each day the buds are swelling more and more. December 8 is her day 49 and it cannot get here fast enough!
She has gotten fatter this week as we approach her 5 week mark. I have her scheduled for 7, as recommended. She isn’t happy with me about something. I thought the yellow leaf edges were a potassium deficiency but I’m not sure anymore especially since I’ve raised the EC over the past weeks.
She is in the final stretch of the race, she is putting on her show as she swells. She is looking like she’s about to drip with resin. I can barely wait for the 8th!!!!
Probably the last update since I’m chopping her Saturday. I’ll give her pH’d RO water beginning Thursday. She is making foxtails and I suspect that’s her way of telling me she’s done.
Beautiful buds covered in frost! I’ve already had a friend tell me this is their favorite one I’ve done yet! I really wish I had hand trimmed some of the buds for photos they were absolutely amazing. I have a clone in flower and another one is almost ready so I will be sure I get some hand trimmed photos in the next diary.
This is one of the first Quick critical grows up and running on the grow diary platform 😎
She's a special strain and we can't wait to see how she performs in your garden 👊
Good luck with this grow my friend, we will be watching with interest 👍
All the best
Mark..
@Tazard, That's what we like to hear mate 👍
Good luck for you search for the perfect Quick critical mother 👊
I'll drop back in on the next update buddy ✌️
All the best
Mark..
@DinafemSeeds, I’m planning a mother from one of the 3 growing. Honestly except for the one wide leaf that is webbed on one plant all 3 are nearly identical both in development and appearance.
I love the Critical/Critical + strains! They all reacted well from topping and training and yielded some of the highest of my yields all time. Looking to see this one grow up!! 🙀
@@Chi_Town_White_Boy, Thanks. I grew a Critical Plus and this is supposed to be the same in taste and effect + a man could easily run this 7 times a year probably 8
Holy sheep shit you use a lot of additives. I’ve never seen so many.
I use 5 for my whole grow start to finish and the most I use at one time is 4.
I cannot imagine that your weed is $500 better than my weed. So how do you justify all of those?
I’m trying to ask in the most non offensive way I know, I’m not trying to be critical. Just a question.
@KilgoreTrout, actually I’m doing just that. You look at some newer grows and they will have only the bud igniter big bud overdrive and flawless finish with base during the appropriate time.
To answer from your other post. I replace what is used daily with the amount of base needed to get the appropriate ppm.
I don’t know what nutrients they have used.
Reservoir is drained and flushed out with phd ro water minimum every 2 weeks. However if one of the reservoir systems exceeds 100% top off then it is drained and flushed with new fresh nutrient solution at that time. Some of my 5’ tall plants had res changed every 3 days.
To explain if a reservoir system (1 veg 1 transitioning 1 flower 1 late flower 1 flush) happens to say hold 10 gallons and the plants on that system use 2 gal of solution a day then the reservoir system would be flushed out and refilled every 5 days.
@Tazard,ok so clarify this for me. I do hand watered coco drain to waste. So I just add water and nutes.
You’re doing DWC? So in my mind you have a resovoir that you add water to as needed and nutrients as needed based on your PPM? Is that correct?
So you check ph and ppm keep them in range. The plant takes the water and nutrients and you just ad them back? How do you know which nutrients the plant is using?
So for example plants use less N during flower but you keep adding your full line? Sorry it’s confusing to me. Or I don’t have the full picture.
So say you’re flushing at the end of your grow. You dump the resovoir and then start over with whatever you may or maynot use to flush?( I just use ph’d water)
@Tazard,ok so if you look at my grow right now I’m using 4 things in veg. Then I’ll add a small amount of pk13/14 in the sixth week of flower and lastly molasses. So six things. Totaling about $75 and I use half of most per grow. So $32.50 per grow two plants. Last grow on my old lights (one 400w mh/hps and a couple chineseum blurples) with my nutrients I figured .47 per gram including electricity. (I use a smart plug to precisely monitor my tent electricity usage seed to harvest) this time I’m using about 25% kWh less per hour and I’m expecting higher yeilds(quantum boards).
I’ve tried all the adjuncts with the line that I use(canna) including their boost with is liquid gold the way they price it and I’ve never gotten enough of an improvement to justify anything beyond just Esentials. The math just doesn’t compute. Are you sure yours does? Meaning if you take away all the non esentials do you yeild less than they cost? I wonder if you should try?
Critical+ can be a very heavy feeding strain mate and this has transferred to her "Quick" variant 👍
The time to increase feed is now as she will need as much food as possible so those buds reach there peak performance 👍
Looking good so far. Remember these are "quick" so expect day 45-49 harvest 👊
All the best ✌️

@OutForReal, Thanks brother. For 49 days I’m really impressed with quantity and quality (I swiped a low branch at day 42 and the Dinafem description was dead on. She compares in taste and high to Critical Plus but a week quicker. I’m not sure about the couchlock but hey I also found LA Confidential to be an energetic little strain! When I’ve shared it I’ll know. They said that the LA was a narcotic or sedative high so it’s me not the medicine.
@Nebula420, Thanks. I’ve grown Critical Plus and they promise similar effects (in spite of 25% more indica) similar yields a week faster. I may keep a mother from these.
@Growmun, upon further investigation I noticed the yellowing around the leaves began around week 13 on this diary at that time my PPM was 650 at That low of an EC it would be difficult to believe that we’re nitrogen burns??
I found a chart that shows how to dial in your EC on a hydroponic reservoir please see the photograph in week 12 of my Dinamed CBD plus I believe what we’re seeing might be burns from low pH because when I had my reservoir at to low of a nutrient concentration I would go to bed and wake up the next morning and the pH would be 4.8 having fallen from 5.8 the previous night.
@Growmun, Hopefully with the higher EC my pH will be much more stable. I was able to go almost 2 days while she drank almost 2 gallons of water out of the reservoir and my pH did not move nor did my EC! Glorious to have a balanced system!!!!
Are you sure you are at week 7 (day 49) of bloom?
You look to be more like 35 day's into bloom going off the picture's?
Things look good from here buddy 👌
All the best ✌️
Mark..
@DinafemSeeds, 😂🤣😂🤣 I pulled a fast one on you. If you look back a week or two I killed the other Quick Critical and switched the other that was rejected as the mother. This update (diary week 13) is 4weeks of flower. The D26 on the photo is short for day 26. I just felt really bad about the root rot and I had this other quick critical plus in flower that was so beautiful figured hey just switch it over. She will be 7 weeks (day 49) on December 8th. I will also restart a Gorilla diary on December 4th or so.
