Did some defoliating mid week. It’s looking a little more manageable and definitely easier to access the fill/drain ports. I reset the water today and I’m trying just maxibloom, silica, and hydroguard. I usually have a ph of 7-7.3 after adding the flora trio, silica, and calmag to unfiltered municipal tap water with a base tds of 100 +/- and adjust to 5.6-5.9 ph and let it rise to 6.5 before re-adjusting. Today after refilling and adding maxibloom, silica, and hydroguard, the ph was at 6.2 in one tote and 6.25 in the other so I let it ride and will monitor. +1 to maxibloom for dropping the ph. Roots are still looking good and healthy. I need to hook up an exhaust fan because first thing in the morning the humidity has been 70-80% before the light heats things up and activates the cooling fan. This run has been a great learning experience, I’m extremely happy with the results so far.

Grow Questions

What would cause the Cali Dream to foxtail with no other noticeable signs of stress? PH is 5.9-6.0 my tds is a little high for dwc maybe but no more than 1-2mm of tip burn sparsely throughout, oddly only in one tote. RuntzXmintz seems to be free of the issue.

Too much nitrogen (as evidenced by the very dark green leaves) during the flowering cycle will cause excessive leaf growth and stretching at the expense of bud growth in most strains.

Thank all of you for the responses. I was wondering what was causing the downturned tips as well and the Nitrogen was most likely the culprit of the tails: I added fresh water to the fill line and it dropped tds to 703 in both reservoirs. I’ll purge and fill tomorrow and use 1/4 strength maxibloom and 10ml/gal of florabloom to keep the nitrogen low without sacrificing the PK. Also will continue 2ml Si and 2ml Signal.

@Psilocubensis, it’s an ecoair 793gph. Under 30 if you don’t mind enabling Jeff bezos. 2 2” ball stones in one and 2 2x4” cylinder stones in the other. Experimenting a little.
