So after connecting the Res a bit to early, they were unhooked and hand fed to further establish roots, I also transplanted from autopot to autopot to reduce the amount of pebbles incase this was also reducing the effect of the bottom feeding in that the water level wasn't high enough to wick through the medium.
They were reconnected to the Res the other night along with a small tidy up prune and some supercropping to keep the canopy open and even for total light penetration.
I'm keeping the lower branches clean to further push growth to the tips, but also saving myself time lollipopping once under the scrog.
The autopots are now in full swing and I'm expecting some rapid growth from here on out.
I'll also this week be setting up the scrog frame and putting that in position ready to start tucking.
I've decided to throw all 4 under the scrog just to help with timings and speed up the scrog process as I also have a number of other plants in the same room which are to be flipped at the same time, so one of my challenges here is to get all plants ready + this scrog to flip into flower at the same time.
A couple of the autopots are still not wicking so I literally dipped them in the res to help the wick and feed the medium, and come the weekend when I have time, if the problem still persists I'm going to have to perform some surgery and skim away more pebbles from the bottom of the pots and top the medium up.!
So further to my autopot problems - I ended up performing intricate surgery on each pot lol,
After removing the excess pebbles, I lost a lot of medium (you can see in some of the pictures above), so the 15 ltr pots were losing out on root space - So I decided to set the pots back up from scratrch, new pot, new disc, fresh pebbles and a fresh layer of coco/perlite for some extra root space.
I had to re transplant by literally pulling the entire plant and medium from the pots which where bound by the roots and carefully remove all pebbles from the root structure and any in-bedded in the medium, then literally lower it in to the new pot, water and put back on the res.
Once this was done - the plants literally took off - which meant time for the scrog. For this I needed to knock up a simple frame made to measure and lay on some plastic fencing from b and q, with 2.5in squares.
This is now in place, pics to follow.
I dont think it will take long to fill the scrog ready to flip at all - of all the genetics in my tent these floweres are head an shoulders above the rest in growth and vigor.
@Tonino, Thank you, I'm really keen to establish the tops so I can start tucking. I'm spread a bit thin atm and my available time to tend is limited, I love to garden, but I am looking forward to the leg work getting done and dusted, or mostly anyway...
@crazy_haze, Yep I'm from South Yorkshire. Dont ask me why I guessed you were from UK just seen a familiar brand filter π Yeah I've heard good things about auto pots. May try them in future. I'm hand feeding but run to waste trays so as easy as it gets.
@TheIceCreamParlour, I am mate, how about you bro? I think the autopots are simply genius, keep them right and you can't go wrong π famous last words haha
@Tonino, thank you fella, still some leg work, but I do love to prune π. How are you getting on? I see the dinafem is fattening nicely ππππ₯
@Tonino, thank you, and definitely, and it made me replace the other vipra.. it was just lagging a bit too much, and I don't want half my yeild to be compromised.
