Growth is unbelievable atm, taking daily attention to keep on top of the pruning to keep the light penetration at maximum, the fan leaves are like big umbrellas. So taking them as soon as the growth nodes can support themselves, thinking it won't take long at all to fill out the scrog but still early days on the tuck. So really important now to keep the plant growth as vigorous as possible by getting rid of all unessesary branches, leaves etc that won't make the final cut and so redirecting the energy to where's it's most important, at the canopy.
So full on defoliation last night to clear all lower branches and any unnecessary fan leaves.
Quick note on how thirsty these girls are, draining 40ltr res in about 5 days!
Each night now I'm just helping the shoots position them selves correctly as they grow through the netting. And I'm taking any upper fan leaves that are hogging the light.
Also last night I added a heater to the reservoir as the ambient temp in the room has dropped considerably so my Res temps were dropping. Thermostat set to 18d
As a final entry for this week I took a picture (see above) of the canopy under 2 different lights, one is a vipraspectra 900w and the other a maxbloomled 800w, both under 300 quid, but as you can see one side is far out performing the other. The winner so far is the Maxbloomled.
@Tonino, Thank you, I'm really keen to establish the tops so I can start tucking. I'm spread a bit thin atm and my available time to tend is limited, I love to garden, but I am looking forward to the leg work getting done and dusted, or mostly anyway...
@crazy_haze, Yep I'm from South Yorkshire. Dont ask me why I guessed you were from UK just seen a familiar brand filter 😂 Yeah I've heard good things about auto pots. May try them in future. I'm hand feeding but run to waste trays so as easy as it gets.
@TheIceCreamParlour, I am mate, how about you bro? I think the autopots are simply genius, keep them right and you can't go wrong 👌 famous last words haha
@Tonino, thank you, and definitely, and it made me replace the other vipra.. it was just lagging a bit too much, and I don't want half my yeild to be compromised.
