i don't believe polyploidism can be passed down to offspring, but this shuld be able to.. (has to do wtih process of meosis and what polyploid is vs a muttion on a chromosome(s).)
it may or may not be a common trait in offspring thuogh. you'd have to look up some educational resources -- not some forum nonsense of random uneducated people extrapolating from a poor base of knowledge. it'll proly be similar to different soft-stemmed, flowering plant species that exhibit same mutation too..
