So last year, I grow 1 x Afghan Pearl and 1 x Purple, and I forced the Purple over to Male and the pollinated the Pearl, and got about 200 seeds, so this little girl is a test to see what comes of the cross.
I am starting under a MarsHydro TL1000 (150watts led), and I wanted to know when I should transfer to my grow tent, which I have a 600watt HPS all setup ready to go. Should I wait a few m ore weeks or is 2 weeks old ok to put under?
moved them out to the grow room, Transplanted and put them under a 600watt HPS. Seems to be going well. I think for this grow I am gonna try and top them, just for fun and see what happens! the little one was germinated a week after the other, because the 2nd seed was no good.
so I swapped out the 600watt HPS for my TL-1000 as it is starting to get warmer here now, and was having issues keeping the temp down. They don't seem to mind the swap. I was also bored at work the other day, so I did some scripting in HomeKit, and wrote a shortcut that checks the VPD every 60 secs, and if it goes over 1.1 it will turn the humidify on, and then once it goes back under 1.1, it turns off again. It seems to be working great, as the temp goes up and down, this keeps the humidity at the correct level!
So Topped a week and a half ago, all is all going well, my home automation is going well, have set the VPD range between 0.9 and 1.2 and it stay in the range 24 hours a day!
My TL1000 power supply stopped working, but lucky there was TL2000 near buy for sale 2nd hand so just grab that and off we go again. It was a sunny day, so they had a day outside. I think the topping has worked well, its my first time, so feel to correct me if I am wrong
very happy with the topping results so far (its my first time) both plants seem to have responded well. I let the 2nd plant get an extra set of nodes before topping, as she also seemed to start flowering a little later the the first one
really happy with the topping - The First Lady I topped once she had 4 nodes, and the removed the lowest. The 2nd younger plant, I let get 5 nodes before topping and then removed the lowest, as she seemed to be taking longer to start flowering. But everything is going nice and both plants have responded well and are happy and healthy.
so the the younger plant, ( only like a week and a half younger) seems to have spent more time in veg, and is now starting to show preflowers - has responded very will to the topping and LST. I think I will pollenate one of the steams with the left of pollen I saved fro last year as I really like this plant.
So I have flipped to 12/12 light now, to see if I can get the 2nd plant to flower. the older Auto is close to being done, so I don't think the 12/12 will hurt. Happy so far both plants seem healthy and when the 2nd one flowers I think I will get some good yield. It is an indoor grow, I just bring them out on sunny days to train and water them.
So the 12/12 flip worked. The 2nd plant started flowering the same night basically. I think the older plant is ready in the next few days to chop, as I am starting to see some nice ambers when I look close up
So after a closer inspection today, I decided to chop chop. Had a nice blend of cloudy and ambers. Not bad for first try at topping, but I will let it get one more node next time.
