I bought Bulk seed bank seeds over a year ago, put 4 of them in water for 12h, and then in root riot cubes. All gave roots ☺️ Its the first time I'm running 24/0 lighting schedule, so far so good! The lamp is dimmed to 25%, leaves are developing pretty fast. I added ExHale homegrown CO2 to try

Time for replanting! 35l pots, I covered bottom of them with clay pebbles, the rest is coco 70%, 30 perlite. I bought mycorrhizal fungi from basic gardener shop, which is an incredibly cheaper solution and mixed 2 table spoons per pot. Watered each pot with 5l of nutrients solution before replanting. Seedlings were growing in double paper cups, the cup inside was precutted vertically and has no bottom, so it's very easy to replant without stressing the roots ☺️

I installed my new DIY watering system made of 15 mm hose. Might look like a bit of overkill, but functions good tho! I have closing taps installed before every pot. In case some problems show up with a plant, I have a chance to water it manually. And it's time for a little stretching exercises for the girls 😄 LST training this week. I like to use rubber bands for it, cuz on one hand they are soft and not cutting the plant, but on the other they constantly bend the stem a little more as the plant grows. Also topping and FIMing, wich are giving pretty great results even with autos on the begging of veg. I'm slowly switching from 24/0 lightning cycle to 20/4, adding half an hour of night time daily. Happy grows everyone 🌿💚

I have installed scrog net in the end of the week. I prefer vinyl coated iron wire gardening net for weaving stems. I find it's hard base pretty handy. Mesh size is relatively small - 7,5cm x10cm, yet still easy to go through with a hand to adjust branches. This week I added table spoon per plant of mycorrhiza. My plants vere showing magnesium deficiency, I increased the dosage of calmag, and sprayed the leaves with it's solution before the night time. General development seems alright, girls are pretty bushy 😄 Happy grows everyone 🌱

This week plants started to flower. Some earlier then others though. Girls are month and a half old and I discovered that 35l pots completely filled with roots. Beneficial fungi making wonders! Healthy base for future development of the plant during flowering - done ✅ I water twice a day from now on, plants drinking 3-4l daily. The base is green House Feeding Hybrids with CalMag. Plus I made a day of watering with mycorrhiza solution, tablespoon per pot, and Voodoo juice from Advanced nutrients. Another day: base mixed with Cannazym. First time trying Resin from Boom nutrients (received a sample bottle as a present from the growshop 😊) - watering with it and sprayed once before night time as well. Plants are skyrocketing now 😄💚 developing fast! I made defoliation twice already, still feels that the mesh is overcrowded with fan leaves. I weave branches through screen as well, little by little to make sure all of the branches are at the same distance from the lamp and even shortest of them receive light. Humidity rises to 60 at times, I think I'm gonna turn on humidifier next week. As well I am choosing which Co2 setup to buy 🤔 advices are very welcome! Joyful grows everyone!

It was lots of defoliation this week. I am getting rid of bottom leaves and minor branches, which can't reach the top. Huge amount of work done, now everything is clean and tidy, no fan leaves under the screen and no collection of popcorn 😄 some plants became too complicated to reach, so I cut the mesh on individual squares. Its hard wired base is pretty handy in this scenario, interconnected with branches pretty tight. I was taking out plants, to take better care of them. Can't say it was very enjoyable.. too many risks of damaging branches. I broke few, but tape works fine to solve this prob, they survived. The stems are massive!! Girls are drinking like horses now, 4l a day+, especially the ones wich are on later stages of flowering. The development is not equal at all, some started flowering much earlier then others. Even from seeds from 1 pack 🤷 well I guess it is what it is. I wish I could give girls some more space, they overgrown everything I had haha. Generally I am very happy with their development, big healthy bushy plants 💚

Development of the plants from one seed pack is very much not equal in the same growing conditions. Some are much closer to harvest then the others. Hight is drastically different as well. Can't say I'm satisfied with it.. but generally plants looking fine. Humidity levels are rising, with weather pretty hot outdoors. Having strong extractor and okayish dehumidifier is not enough still 🤪 defoliation should improve the conditions partly

This week I found bud rot on one plant. Two big buds just had it started. I didn't want to risk mold spreading, so I have cut the plant. She was very close to be ready, I would preferably give it a week or so more to flower, but not a big deal.. what worries me more that the mold will appear on the rest of the girls, some of which are not so late in flowering. Fingers crossed So I got rid of infected one, and haven't been watering plants for a couple of days, to decrease humidity in the tent. It was pretty brutal to look at, but everyone survived 😀 some wilted a little, substrate got extremely dry. Plus I have been defoliating. During this days I haven't found new molded spots. Even with these unfortunate events, buds of the cut plant were dence, with milky trichomes and great smell 💚 harvest pics are on the way! Have a great week everyone!

Last weeks before the harvest, no intence growth anymore or rapid development of foliage. Just buds gaining their weight 💚 very joyful to observe! watering them with base nutrients, calmag, pk and amino acids. No more signs of bud rot found, that makes me extremely happy! Enjoy your grows 😁

Close to harvest time! buds are super heavy! Annndd today half of my plant collapsed under its own weight.. so I used some barbarian methods to fix the problem of too many branches falling down 😄 not very esthetical solution but it works! Tons of wire used. A lil bit of defoliation done, and watering twice a day as usual. Lots of photos of my three beauties this time ❤️ they are getting faaat 😄

By design, there will be variation (phenotypes) amongst the plants when growing from seeds. Even a legendary stable strain like Blue Dream still has some variation in seedlings. I am currently running 10 different Green Crack seeds and I am already seeing differences in phenotypes 3 weeks in.

@Girl_Scout, quite a height difference. Are they F1 seeds?
Girl_Scout
Girl_Scoutcommented2 years ago
@NegotiatedBubble, yes that's true. I do realize it, yet it's the biggest difference I experienced so far.. hight differs for a meter almost. before flowering they developed pretty equally. I had nice even lovely scrog. But after - chaos started 😀

NegotiatedBubblecommentedweek 62 years ago
@Girl_Scout, initially in veg, I was only pulling in cool air from the hallway into the Lung Room, but in flower I need more cooling / dehumidification capacity. My A/C and dehumidifier currently reside in the Lung Room. During veg, I run higher temps and humidity, and also can run the lights at a lower intensity, which reduces the heat load in the room as well. I plan on utilizing both to decrease electric costs. Placing equipment in another room is usually related to heat load. For example, if I had an insane amount of LEDs, I would want to put the LED Drivers (the metal "power box" for your LED's) in another room since they generate some of the heat. Sometimes one wants to purposefully increase the heat load in a room to force the A/C to cycle longer and thus increase dehumidification.

Girl_Scoutcommented2 years ago
@NegotiatedBubble, yes, I have similar thoughts coming time to time, that I should grow less plants in the room, for better conditions. but voice of reason never worked so far 😄 I still need to use a dehumidifier, it's not very powerful though..
NegotiatedBubble
NegotiatedBubblecommented2 years ago
@Girl_Scout, Wow. That is a monster fan. I either need install one similar to yours, or stop using the grow tent entirely because of humidity issues. I am dying to see what 35% RH grown flower is like.

@NegotiatedBubble, thank you for the detailed info! I see your point! As for me I installed a duct fan with an airflow over 1300 m3/h for my current room. It's working great and doesn't make much noise, room temperature is 24-26, which I'm happy about. I hope it will continue to perform well during the summer heat. It just bugs me how much space fan and filter occupy in the room.. I tried to keep the ducting as short as possible and avoid turns to maximize airflow. So this monstrosity sits directly above the lamps 😆

Yo-Yo hangers are great for supporting heavy buds. I use metal plant props so I don't have the yo-yo hanger strings in the way.

@Girl_Scout, yes - I found them at the Home Depot here in the US, but they are cheaper in bulk online. I returned to the store at least 5-6 times and would have saved both time and money buying bulk.     18 Inch Plant Props     amazon․com/Thealyn-Support-stemmed-Flowers-Tomatoes/dp/B09J3F2XDM/

@Girl_Scout, it's all about the MERV rating for the filter being used. You can pay for a pre-built fan+filter, but I prefer to make a homemade one because I'm cheap like that. Taping a box fan to a square filter is the most basic, but box fans cannot not pull very much air through a high MERV filter. Grow exhaust fans are higher intensity. You can make a box out of cheap rigid foam board insulation from the local hardware store and tape the fan/filter to that box. I found one site that says powdery mildew spores are about 1-3 microns, but I would research that more. Looking at the below chart, it looks like MERV 8+ is a starting point. In general, the higher a filter’s MERV rating, the stronger a fan must be in order to pull air through that filter.     What is a MERV rating?     epa․gov/indoor-air-quality-iaq/what-merv-rating

@NegotiatedBubble, sounds very reasonable as well! could you recommend some in particular? I don't know much about them.. I see the models and pricing vary greatly. I see appearance of bud rot this time is luck of care from my side. The tent is very crowded and I've been postponing defoliation. I'm finally taking decision to reduce the amount of plants next time 😀

Lol, I will refrain from calling you bro or buddy @Girl_Scout. I am buying a CO2 setup next month. I think I will be going with beverage tanks and an injector timer, but I am also looking at propane CO2 generators since I am enriching an entire Lung Room. You can get cheap CO2 refills at a fire extinguisher servicing companies. Every area has one.
Girl_Scout
Girl_Scoutcommented2 years ago
@NegotiatedBubble, great setup! And what was the main reason to put the equipment in a different room?
NegotiatedBubble
NegotiatedBubblecommented2 years ago
@Girl_Scout, I started on the Lung Room about mid veg and have some pictures in Week 7. Since then, I have sealed the room added an A/C unit and my badass LGR Dehumidifier just arrived. I will have that up in the next diary. My biggest fear is humidity right now. growdiaries[dot]com/diaries/165223-grow-journal-by-negotiatebubble/week/937536 The propane generator is a pilot flame similar to a water heater that self extinguishes if the gas flow stops, but I am going tank as well.
Girl_Scout
Girl_Scoutcommented2 years ago
@NegotiatedBubble, hahah thank you! I chose controller with tank in the end. And I found person refilling fire extinguishers as well 😃 pretty dope! price is 5 times lower then co2 tanks in growshops. Propane feels like kinda more dangerous solution, isn't it? Whoa you have a lung room! Amazing! Do you have pics of the setup?
