8/26:
7/7 seeds germinated, but only 6 emerged. That one had sprouted through the paper towel and I attempted to just plant it with the piece of paper towel it had penetrated and without molesting the tap root...fail.
9/1:
Spring water misting all week. Trying to keep the humidity above 70% because I also have some clones in this tent...failing..
9/5:
Excellent growth...leaving the clones in the dust...dadgummit..
THURSDAY 9/6:
Just 2 weeks from seed and they are hitting their groove. I'll start spraying them with 1/2 strength foliar nutes and root-feed them 1/3 strength nutes tomorrow I think.
FRIDAY:
I gave them another day of foliar nutes and just a little spring water at 6.2ph to drink.
SATURDAY:
I fed them 1/2 strength veg nutes today..used a gallon for the 6 x WW's and 1 x CC.
SUNDAY:
Excellent growth today..they liked the nitrogen.
MONDAY:
Kinda busy with harvesting another plant, so they just got foliar fed a couple times today.
I added a couple of 4' 38w dual-row cool white(6500k) LED fixtures, and a 2.9' 9w pink light fixture on 3 of the sides of the tent.
I'll replace those with 4 x 22w single-row 4' warm white(3000k) LED fixtures once they start flowering. My primary light is only really rated for 4 x 4 veg and since I'm gonna now be flowering in this tent as well, I figured I'd better increase the side lighting.
So in addition to the 1500w 5 x COB light (414w actual), the two red 660nm 50w (22w actual) overhead panels, the 16' strip of 5050 warm white(2700k) LEDs (96w actual), I'll have another 80w actual warm white (3000k) side lighting in this 4 x 4 tent, for a total of 634 actual draw wattage of light. I think they'll like it.
TUESDAY:
All 6 WW seedlings will be FIM'd...2 of them tomorrow.
They like the additional cool white light, really stacking up now.
I foliar fed everybody a few times and gave them a little drink of diluted flower's kiss.
WW#3 is a beast. She's fully 4 inches taller than anybody else and been off in the corner the whole time..
WEDNESDAY:
I had some much growth out of them in the past couple days that I ended up FIMing 3 of them today... WW#3, WW#4, and WW#5
I mixed up a gallon of nutes and gave everybody about 30oz, including the CC...and foliar fed a couple times.
THURSDAY 9/13:
They are loving life! I misted them a few times with flower's kiss and rearranged everybody a little.
Neither of the 3 that I FIMed yesterday showed any signs of shock at all...Yay!
WW#3's auxins immediately stepped it up a notch and her lower branches are growing very quickly.
FRIDAY:
I split 2 gallons of ph'd water with a little bud candy and boomerang between the 6 WW's, 1 CC, and 10 Kushpialidocious clones and misted everybody in the small tent a few times today. I rearranged everybody today after adding another 40w of cool white LED and another 20w of full spectrum LED. I mounted all 4 of my 4' side lights with velcro (much easier to deal with) and also mounted led strip light channels with velcro. WW#3 and WW#4 started flowering today!
SATURDAY:
WW#6 (the tiniest WW) started flowering today. Kinda weird..she's still too short to FIM and already flowering..auto's just frickin' amaze me.
I misted everybody a few times today and moved both Exhale bags to opposite corners.
I've decided to grow the 6 x WW's and 1 x CC to completion in this 4 x 4 tent. There's just no way I can fit all the Kushpialidocious clones in there, even if they are in 3g pots.. and even if I move their big mamma outdoors to finish, which I plan to do.
So....I'm not satisfied that I have enough light in the small tent to really swell up my WW buds to the proportions I had in my big tent.
While the side-lighting I've implemented is pretty kickass, I just don't think my primary light has the juice to get'er done.
I also don't think I could manage the temperatures well enough in this small tent to be able to just buy a second of the same fixture...
So...I have about two weeks to come up with a solution...at most....and I hate to toss out this 1500w fixture, as it give pretty kickass performance for the money. I also don't want to spend an arm and a leg on it, but that seems unavoidable...I'm not about to fail my girls and provide some wimpy-assed lighting.😇
SUNDAY:
Foliar feeding and rearranging today...
MONDAY:
I FIM'd the other 2 WW's, so all 6 got a haircut this crop. First two to undergo the procedure are definitely doubling-up.
I added a third bag of Exhale to their tent today, so that's 2 x 365's and 1 x XL in a 4 x 4 tent.
CO2 PPM's are steady at 1335+
TUESDAY:
They each got about 28oz of ph'd water with calimagic, bud candy, terpinator and boomerang today.
I added more light today, so we're up to about 415w total light for the majority of the day, and kicking on the 1500w (360w actual) for an hour a day.
2 x 50w blue/white par38 spots (26w actual each)
2 x 50w blue/white panels (22w actual each)
1 x 150w blue/white panel (74w actual)
1 x 40w(actual) Sansi daylight white par38
2 x 38w (actual) cool white 4' tubes
2 x 9w (actual) full spectrum pink tubes
1 x 18w (actual) warm white 4' tube
1 x 16' SMD 5050 cool white strip light (96w actual)
It seems to be working pretty damn well.
WEDNESDAY:
No shock at all from FIMing..all the WW girls look great and lower branches growing like crazy. The first 3 to get FIM'd last week are splitting off into multiple colas...nice.
Today I replaced the 2 x 50w blue/white par38 spots with 5 x 150w (12w actual) 475nm blue Miracle LEDs..less heat, better coverage. Total draw wattage now up to 425w.
THURSDAY 9/21:
It's 'bout to get bushy up in here, y'all!
21 plants in a 4 x 4! ..and I still have one freshly-potted clone to squeeze in here for a few more days!
Next week, I'll get the 4 x 5 tent cleaned up and set up for the clones, so it will just be the 6 WW's, the 1 super-dwarf CC, and I'll move my Pineapple Express plant in there to finish with them at 24/0 (18hrs all lights on/6hrs. heavy deep reds and low-watt warm white side lights only).
I'll also dedicate a full-time 20w 3000k or a 50w bridgelux 3500k COB to the PE (and some up-close-and-personal UVB's) so she finishes strong. So, there will be some bleed over light at 'night', but my girls like to stay up late and party anyway!😉
FRIDAY:
These bitches are in a hurry! Inches daily, without fail. I see no signs of nutrient burn, so I'll continue to increase the ratios. I added another 38w of 6500k cool white in a 4' LED tube light, and another 9w of pink LED grow tube, but I've removed the primary light for the next few days so I can keep my 3 blue/white panels and the 5 Miracle LED blue/cool white lights about a foot or less above the canopy, while keeping the tent temps low enough to keep it zipped up with all that precious CO2.
Temps are holding steady at about 89-91 most of the day, but drop to about 84 for several hours. CO2 is steady at about 1350ppm. unless I open the tent to gawk at them up-close.😍
SATURDAY:
I worked my ass off in the gardens today..
I set up the small tent for flowering and evicted the clones.
Everybody got about 32oz of ph'd water with calimagic, bud candy, terpinator, and a little boomerang.
SUNDAY:
I swapped out the 1500w primary light for my 2000w light in the 4 x 4...saw no reason not to since I'm not currently using it.
Now that I've got it running in the 4 x 4, I see how effective it is in a 4 x 4 and may just leave it in there. The 1500w plus the 4 big COB's might do the trick now that I've added additional side lighting in the big tent. I sure want to get a pair of FOTOP 800's to run down the center of my big tent and flank it on both sides with the big COB's, but that will have to wait until after Christmas.
These plants are growing like crazy now that I'm hitting them with intense PAR. Bud-city is right around the corner.😁
MONDAY:
Everybody got about 40oz of ph'd water with nutes..started them on Open Sesame and Tiger Bloom today plus gave them some Microbe Brew and Kangaroots. They were thirsty...no runoff at all...I'll douche them really well in a couple of days.
TUESDAY:
Only one of the 6 WW's didn't quadruple their main after being FIM'd, and that one doubled! Lots and lots o' big 'ol buds.😀
Foliar fed twice today. I'm still only running the 2000w blurple for 18 hours a day. So, it's currently just the warm white side lights and a pair of Miracle LED for flowering for 6 hours. I'll add two 660nm deep red panel lights tomorrow when they arrive, and they will run 24/0 with the side lights. I'll probably also add a couple more of the miracle leds before it's over..
I've been reading that, in addition to adding UVB's during the last couple of weeks of flowering, many of the commercial growers are intensifying the blue spectrum at the same time. Evidently, this triggers a similar photosynthetic reaction to what a plant experiences with a sudden winter cold snap. By lowering temps and increasing blues, plants kick it into overdrive to try to get laid before it's too late. Both flower and trichrome production are said to be increased significantly. I plan to give it a try.
WEDNESDAY:
I sure do love growing pot! It's especially cool being able to monitor my garden(s) any time I want via the tent-cams. Technology rules!
I split 2.5 gallons of ph'd water with the 6 x WW's and 1 x CC..including calimagic, terpinator, and bud candy. It was abo;ut 60oz each. I also gave them two foliar feedings and much love.
THURSDAY:
Foliar fed them and bestowed numerous compliments upon them about their pretty little buds.
FRIDAY:
I split 2.5 gallons of nutrient-rich water ph'd to 6.2. It was their second dose of Open Sesame. I foliar fed them a few times today and switched out the blue/white panels for the new 660nm red panels.
SATURDAY:
I foliar fed them a few times and rearranged everybody a little bit.
SUNDAY:
I gave them a little water and rearranged them. Foliar fed a couple times
MONDAY:
Foliar fed them a couple times.
TUESDAY:
I foliar fed them a few times. I super-cropped the two tallest mains on WW#4 and tied them down. That plant is really an oddball...overly light sensitive, thin leaves, sparse and elongated branching....not a specimen phenotype.
THURSDAY:
Since I killed a whole tent full of clones today (😰), I moved the 3rd Exhale bag into the small tent and adjusted the vent timers so that CO2 builds up to about 1400ppm for 6 hours, then it stays at about 1100ppm when the primary light and ventilation kicks back on.
I supercropped both of WW#4 (Wild One) tallest mains, foliar fed everybody and rearranged a little.
Nutes tomorrow..gonna start them on beastie bloomz.
I placed an order with Seedsman today:😎
5 x Cream Cookies (Fastbuds)
5 x Gorilla Glue Auto (Fastbuds)
5 x Blackberry (Fastbuds)
5 x C4-matic (Fastbuds)
5 x Dark Devil Auto (Sweet Seeds)
5 x free Diesel Auto (RQS)
3 x free Amnesia Auto (Seedsman)
2 x free White Siberian (Dinafem)
2 x free Red Diesel (Barneys)
2 x free Sweet Cheese Fast (Sweet Seeds)
..plus two more free random beans from Seedsman
..plus a pack of White Widow Autos from Seedsman because my order got screwed up, They rock!
Since my fall Kushpialidocious crop was all male or hermie, I'm probably gonna plant up a tent full of the new beans as soon as they arrive...maybe two of each that I paid for. Then I'll do a two-tent crop in January or February.
FRIDAY:
I split 4 gallons of ph'd water with full-dose bloom nutes between the 6 WW's and the 1 CC. Started them on beastie bloomz, decreased nitrogen(grow big), and increased terpinator and bud candy. Foliar fed a couple times and did the dosey-do with everybody.
SATURDAY:
Foliar fed a few times and rotated everybody.
SUNDAY:
Foliar fed and rotated..noticed some blotchy leaves and have a little yellowing on older leaves. But..also noticed some leaf tip burn, so doubt they are N deficient at all. I may need to re-calibrate my PH pen again I think...it's like they are magnesium and nitrogen deficient, but I've been giving them plenty..gotta be PH too low...
MONDAY:
They weren't really all that dry yet, so putting off watering until tomorrow. I raised the lights a few inches and foliar fed a few times.
TUESDAY:
My PH pen's calibration was fukt!
PH was waaay too high at last feeding...(sorry girls)..that explains the sudden onset of various signs of deficiencies.
I moved all the autos into the big tent where there's much less blurple and cooler temps. I watered them today with about 3.5 gallons of properly PH'd water with terpinator, bud candy, calimagic, and a shit-ton of boomerang. I think I'll order some silica to supplement with. I read that it's really good for strengthening your plants against heat, light, and pestilence.
WEDNESDAY:
I hate seeing so many yellowing leaves this early on...doh!
It'll be another couple days before I fertilize them again, so I foliar fed them about a half gallon total today in an effort to make them happier.
THURSDAY 10/11:
I foliar fed them several times today and rotated everybody.
FRIDAY:
I gave everybody about 3/4 of a gallon of bloom nutes and foliar fed them 4 or 5 times.
SATURDAY:
We had a cold snap and I hadn't shut off the vent to the tent, so they got blasted with warm central heat all night, on top of the already 89 degree temps..got up to 100F for a few hours...ouch...everybody a little wilted looking today. I'm pulling in 45F air into the tent from outdoors now, but the damage was done. Foliar fed a few times and rearranged.
SUNDAY:
Everybody was still heat stressed and burnt looking today..I watered with about 1/3 gallon each of ph'd water with calimagic, terpinator, bud candy, and a lot of boomerang to try to help them with their PH and temperature stresses.😢
MONDAY:
Foliar fed a few times..they really look like shit and I'm feeling guilty about hurting them...(so sorry, ladies)😕
TUESDAY:
Foliar fed a few times and took some photos. The tent is really starting to wreak. I ordered some General Hydroponics Si to supplement them and future tent tenants with...I think this is for the best, as I can't be trusted to keep the temps stable...
THURSDAY 10/18:
I rotated them and gave them each about 3/4 gallon of full-strength bloom nutes plus extra boomerang. I also added GH's Armor Si to the mix to try to deal with the heat and ph stress from last week. I will continue supplementing with it from now on since I can't be trusted to provide stable PH and comfortable temperatures for my ladies. 😟
FRIDAY:
Added silica to the foliar spray and am lightly spraying everybody several times per day..max ventilation and airflow to avoid rot.
SATURDAY:
Rearranged everybody and took some photos 😻
..continuing light foliar spray as often as I can
SUNDAY:
Still lightly spraying with silica whenever I pass by the tent. A couple of them are looking a little better, but the damage was done on few of them...not likely to green back up, and the leaf loss will decrease their energy even further. They should still be able to swell up pretty good.
I swapped out the 1500w light for my 2000w blurple light in the big tent today, but besides being off from 6pm til midnight, I set the timer for it to also shut off for an hour mid-day so as to manage temps a little better. I am ordering a 4th Exhale bag today too. Maybe that will help to mitigate the high temps.
MONDAY:
Pipsqueak is fully in the harvest window. She's got about 75% cloudy and 10% amber trichs.
I'll start flushing her tomorrow.
TUESDAY:
I flushed Pipsqueak(WW#8) with 3 gallons of ph'd spring water and bud candy. I'll let her dry out for a few days and do it again with plain ph'd spring water. Then a few days later I'll put her in the dark for a night and kill her the next day. WW#6 looks really bad... she's so pale all over. Her buds aren't ready yet, but she's not likely to have the energy to do much more. Not sure why she was so adversely affected from the mistreatment of the past two weeks and the other WW's not nearly as badly. I'll check her trichs again tomorrow.
I finally received the quantum board I ordered last month. It's just a single board with 288 x LM301b's running at 120w, but I replaced one of my Citizen Clu048 COBs with it, so it's a net gain of 20w, with a considerably reduced heat signature. A win. I love it, and will endeavor to save up to replace my big blurple with one of these bad boys:
http://www.r2thk.com/QB288-V2-Samsung-lm301B-SK-full-spectrum-Quantum-Board-600W-LED-Grow-Light-with-XPE-660nm-for-hydroponic-system-growing-pd6850328.html
WEDNESDAY:
It was a frustrating week with the heat issues and slow recovery from the ph issues the week before, but they're finishing the week looking pretty good.
4 gallons of ph'd water with full-strength bloom nutes, plus a little extra boomerang, extra terpinator and bud candy, and Calimagic and Armor Si - split between WW#3, WW#4, WW#5, WW#6, and WW#7.
THURSDAY 10/25:
I flushed WW#5 with a few gallons of ph'd water, bud candy and bembe. She's done....such a runt...but her aroma is delightful!
FRIDAY:
I rotated everybody and gave everybody a sniff test..yup..all of my WW's have that wonderful fragrance, but stronger than the last crop. Terpinator really does work.
SATURDAY:
WW#3 - she's fattening nicely..estimating 2+ more weeks before flushing starts
WW#4 - looking good, but slower than the rest...estimating 3 more weeks before flushing starts
WW#5 - still very moist from her first flushing
WW#6 - still fattening, so exotic looking..estimating 1+ more week before flushing starts
WW#7 - still fattening..estimating 2 more weeks before flushing starts
WW#8 - still moist from her first flushing
SUNDAY:
WW#5 - still moist from her first flushing
WW#8 - still moist from her first flushing
MONDAY:
WW#5 - still moist from her first flushing
WW#8 - still moist from her first flushing
TUESDAY:
Flushed WW#5 and WW#8 for the last time...a few more days.
Fed #3, #4, #6, and #7 today..I split 4 gallons between them and increased terpinator and bembe.
Started them on Cha Ching.
WEDNESDAY:
WW#6 has entered the harvest window...I'll hit her with Cha Ching one more time before I start flushing her.
THURSDAY 11/1:
I harvested the dwarf (WW#5) today....it'll be a minimal yield, but she's "special." Very greasy and a little bit cheezy.😋
FRIDAY:
WW#7 is suffering from overwatering..not sure why just her...thinking she has a drainage problem.
SATURDAY:
WW#7 looks like shit..most of her foliage is just about gone...I probed and prodded her soil to try and dry her out a little faster..probably gonna have to harvest her in a few days...
WW#8 is scheduled for execution tomorrow.
I fed WW#3, WW#4, and WW#6 today...split 2 gallons of ph'd water with late flower nutes plus cha ching. I also upped their Terpinator, Bembe and Bud Candy dosage a bit in anticipation of starting flush on everybody next week.
SUNDAY:
I harvested WW#8 today. She has a super pungent fragrance. And daaaummn she's heavy for such a squatty little plant. I'm betting she'll weigh about 60g dry.
I went ahead and harvested WW#7, too. She was about 75% cloudy..very few ambers, but she was really looking sickly and I didn't want to let her go to waste. Another puny plant..I blame myself.
She smells delish, but won't yield much more than a half ounce.
MONDAY:
I fed the remaining bloomers 3/4 gallon each with late bloom nutes, including cha ching, much terpinator, bembe, and bud candy.
#5 is almost dry
#7 almost dry
#8 another day or few
TUESDAY:
#5 is dry but I still haven't weighed her
#7 almost dry
#8 another day or two
I tuned the color spectrum for the flowering tent to be much heavier in blues so as to simulate the onset of winter. Hoping they'll finish strong!😁
WEDNESDAY:
#5 - I still haven't weighed her
#7 - almost dry
#8 - another day
THURSDAY:
I jarred up the runts today. They were all fully dry. I'll cure them for at least a week before I do any taste tests.
#5 - 28g total dry weight
#7 - 46g total dry weight
#8 - 42g total dry weight
The 3 remaining bloomers are looking good. Still swelling, thankfully. They have to come in quite a bit heavier than the runts to salvage my lifetime per-plant avg.😁
FRIDAY 11/9:
I rotated them and increased blue spectra for their 6-hour "nighttime." Added another 25w 15.0 UVB with reflector over them. Lowered all the lights about 2 inches.
SATURDAY:
Today was their last feeding. I went heavy with the cha ching, terpinator, bembe, and bud candy, and just a little big bloom and tiger bloom, plus calimagic. I'll let them dry out for a couple days and start flushing.
SUNDAY:
Rotated them and plucked some necrotic stuff. Need a close look at her trichromes, but all three of them are about ready to be flushed. Super stinky!😋
MONDAY:
I took some photos and zoomed in on them with my PC..they are definitely ready for flushing. They'll be ready for a big clear drink of water tomorrow.👍
TUESDAY:
Today, I douched all three remaining bloomers with a few gallons of ph'd water each and plucked some dead shit.
I'm so glad this crop is almost finished! Can't wait to clean out the big tent and get it ready for the new crop. They'll start flowering any day now..
WEDNESDAY:
I did nothing really except for taking a few photos and re-positioning the UVB lights a little.
FRIDAY:
I forgot to update the diary yesterday, but I flushed them for the last time on Thursday.
SATURDAY:
Gonna harvest all 3 tomorrow!😁
SUNDAY:
"My pruning shears....will keeeel."
I trimmed them up on the bush and hung the 3 intact plants to dry in the big tent, which is dark, has good airflow, and at present has 45% relative humidity.
They were super greasy and it took 3 sets of trimmers to complete the job. Sticky, stinky goodness on the horizon.😋
Smaller yield than I had hoped for this time around, but I blame myself. PH problems on week 4 followed by ridiculously high temps on week 5 really stressed them and stunted their bud production. The buds are super sticky and super stinky...just too small...and not as dense as I'd like.
The first 3 I harvested this time around all have the same distinct flavor and terpene profile, but a couple of them were more pungent than the other.
I'll weigh it, jar it up, and post the final weights tomorrow.
I'll wait for another week to do a smoke test on the last 3....stay tuned..
WW#3 - 68g
WW#4 - 69g
WW#5 - 41g
WW#6 - 53g
WW#7 - 48g
WW#8 - 44g
Total:
323g
I really like this strain for smoking at night, and it has the potential to produce decent harvests, though I kinda blew it this time around. It's fairly forgiving of temperatures in the low to mid 90's f, which makes it a good candidate for growing outdoors in warmer climates for much of the year.
It gives a great buzz and is very tasty, so I'd definitely recommend it.
I plan to grow White Widow autos from other breeders as well..starting with Seedsman's, which I already have in my genetics library.😁
The aromas are definitely more pungent, but honestly, if your humidity isn't right when you dry it, there's nothing much that will help the final "texture" of your buds. You gotta try and keep the temps at 75f and some wind moving, but at the same time, keep the humidity at at least 50% to keep them from drying too quickly...that's the real trick I think.
I'm finding that if I hang them to dry in a much smaller enclosure, I can control the humidity better.
@Silverback_Guerilla, thx you sir for the information very helpful. Yeah I’m super worried about cutting them to soon or late 😆. The trichomes are still clear and I’ve got maybe 20-30 red hairs so far. Tomorrow I’ll update my grow if you’d look them over that would be awesome sir. Thx
@Okie420_1986, I love the stuff...grew that exact strain twice last year, and just tried Seedsman's White Widow Autos...and have 5 more WWA beans from Spliff Seeds that I'll be trying this Fall...
From the looks of it, yours might go a few more weeks. Don't kill her too early and she'll swell up and really glisten with trichromes. Wait until you see at least 10% amber trichromes in any given patch and she'll rock your world!👈
Also..it may just be the photos, but your foliage is looking very dark green..at this stage of her life, you want to start seeing senescence (overall paling of leaves).
You should start backing off of the nutes containing Nitrogen and pump up the phosphorus and potassium.. and heavy up on any sweeteners you might possess(e.g. molasses, etc..)
In my "1st grow in 25 years" diary, you can see the best 2 CKS WWA's that I've finished thus far-
@Silverback_Guerilla, thanks appreciate the hollaback I just checked out a video on YouTube cuz this guy said some Growers consider this the secret the terpinator I mean I grow nice plants very very frosty high THC content but still I don't get that incredible smell and the oils that allow it to not dry out so much I grow well dry well and cure well this is got to be the missing link so I just bought some I'll be able to tell from this green crack I've got growing I'm also going to add it to my sugar black rose thanks for the tip
@ChefGreenThumbGardenofWeedin,
Definitely. I didn't use any on my first batch of White Widows, and they had a great aroma, but it wasn't nearly as pungent as this crop! I used Terpinator during the entire grow cycle...increasing the dose as the plants progressed.
yea, temps are a bit high, and i'm not an expert but those buds look a bit light-burned or ph stressed... But i think i doesn't matter in the end because everything is coming along nicely!
@NewbieMJ00,
Ya, actually I double-whammied them last week and the week before..first I had PH pen issues and that got things waaay out of whack...then I had temperature issues the next week (over 100f for a whole day!)...crispy critters.
The situation has improved and I should still be able to pull a decent harvest.
Thanks!
gotta try to drop the temp down to around 77 during the day if u can I'm having a hard time in my closet grow soo adding a co2 bag soo they can thrive in the high temps
