That’s it, that’s the whole week…two pics. I ran Ethos last go with great success. Just over 8 pounds with 3 lights and hardly any buds would be classified as “C” grade or below. I’m giving Ethos another run and maybe this one will grab their attention.
As I have for years, all seeds are placed in a cup of tap water. No need to ph or temp the water. Just simply wait the 24-48 hours for them to open.
Thank you for stopping in and checking this out. I do a little longer veg than most I see on here, so hang in there and I’ll try to document this the best I can.
So it’s the official start of week 1. Kinda cold with lower than I would like humidity…but it’s weed so they’ll be just fine 😎.
As soon as the seedlings get moved from root cubes to their first actual pot, it’s time for feeding. We only have so much time to get these girls as big as possible. In my opinion if you are only giving them straight water at this time you are wrong. My belief is, if they can take the nutrients then give it to them.
I’m currently using a 24” sun blaze 4 bulb t5. It’s about 10 inches away from the tallest seedling. Once the dome comes off I will watch the height of all the seedling and adjust the lamp down to stop any unwanted stretching, or raise the lamp to get them to stretch. I am looking for the plants to stretch as much as possible without having to support them.
Growth will still be fast with the low temp/humidity due to the feedings. Simple 1:1:1 solution (grow, micro, bloom) seems to work good. I’ve been using this for years no matter the nutrient company. If this first feeding goes well I will increase from 2ml of each per gallon to 3ml by the end of week one. Just keep a close eye on them and watch for changes. 60ml of nutrient liquid is fed each time.
If all goes right these plants will double in size by the end of the week.
Week 2
Question of the week:
How do I get a nutrient line added to the nutrient selections?
Plants have doubled in size since last week…at least double. Everything is green and silky to the touch. Plants are now in 3 inch thin walled pots until they find their final home in a few weeks.
I’m very pleased to see the plants are very uniform in size from seed. Moved them from the small 2 foot t5 to the Photobio grow lights in the actual grow room. I couldn’t get the temp above 70 and the humidity was super low. The larger 4x4 grow lights put off more heat. Currently 73 degrees and 60% humidity, so it’s a lot closer to where I want it.
Feeding at a rate of 80ml of nutrients almost 2x a week to keep them hydrated. Things are progressing nicely for now.
If anyone knows how I can get Front Row AG nutrients added to the nutrient selections of the menu, I would love the feedback. I will have the entire lineup here by the end of next week and would like to have my diary part of the nutrient search for Front Row Ag.
Thanks for stopping by!
Week 3 START OF DAY 14
Start of week 3 and I’ve pretty much lost a full weeks of growth. Maybe not that bad but it wasn’t that good either. Scratching my head thinking…something’s off…
CALIBRATE YOUR EQUIPMENT! This is my wisdom of the week.
When plants are young deficiencies are hard to notice. All they really need is water to survive. If you’re like me, you don’t just feed plants water even at a young age. There should be no yellowing…ever! I noticed some slight yellowing, actually just not that good green color that it’s suppose to be. So, calibrated my ph meter and bingo, it’s way off. So I calibrated, fed overnight and they are already good.
Transplanted into one gallon pots so I can still utilize just one light. I usually minimize transplanting to one time but it’s a waste of electricity to use all 3 4x4 lights this early into veg.
Next week will be better! Thanks for stopping in lol.
START OF DAY 21 FROM SEED
Evidently I have to lie about the nutrients used during this grow to get noticed anywhere on grow diaries other than the Ethos brand tab.
Started first regiment of Front Row Ag. Amazing results! Plants have doubled in size in 7 days. Light is set to 40% and is 200 ppfd at the top of the tallest plant.
Only feeding twice a week to complete saturation. Topped the three tallest plants by simply pinching off the top node.
We will see what happens this week
I am not sponsored by Front Row Ag. I’m simply trying something new
WEEK 5 START OF DAY 28 FROM SEED
THE NUTRIENTS LISTED ARE NOT WHAT I USE. I ONLY LISTED THEM TO GET NOTICED IN SUB CATEGORIES. CORRECT NUTRIENTS LISTED 👇
Transplanted to final 5 gallon pots. Ran into a problem toward the end. I ran out of coco with 2 pots to go. So I will probably do another transplant after going to the store today and getting another bag of coco.
Fed at half strength——
Front Row AG Part A 3.5g per gallon
Front Row AG Part B 2g per gallon
Front Row AG Phoszyme .4g per gallon
Front Row AG Triologic 1ml per gallon
Front Row AG Si .5ml per gallon
Everything went well but my room runs on an auto feed system and if the promix ho will not drain like the pure coco bags so I’m gonna replace tonight.
Thanks for stopping by
START OF WEEK 6 DAY 35
I am not sponsored by any company, simply wanted to try out something new this grow.
NUTRIENTS USED THIS WEEK
Front Row AG Part A 4.2g per gallon
Front Row AG Part B 2.8g per gallon
Front Row AG Phoszyme .4g per gallon
Front Row AG SI .5ml per gallon
Front Row AG Triologic 1ml per gallon
Front Row AG Clean Up .2g per gallon
Another great week after the transplant to final pots. Every visible node was topped on all the plants. Some of the large fan leaves connected to the main stem were removed.
Custom drip rings were made out of some 1/2 inch tube that I drilled some holes in. Each drip ring has its own shutoff due to different substrate being used. I was getting rid of some leftover stuff from past grows. This is not ideal, but it’s what I had to work with and cost no 💰 this go around.
I’m hoping for a great stretch from these Mandarin Cookies. The net will probably go up at the end of the week followed by one final week before flipping the light cycle to 12/12 for flower production. I really need the height of the Cookies to catch up to the Super Lemon Haze that are growing like a maniac! I’m gonna take clones at some point…maybe.
Thanks for stopping by and we’ll see you next week.
START OF WEEK 7 DAY 42
⭐️Nutrients Used⭐️
Front Row AG Part A 4.2g per gallon
Front Row AG Part B 2.8g per gallon
Front Row AG Phoszyme .4g per gallon
Front Row AG Si .5ml per gallon
Front Row AG CleanUp .2g per gallon
This has been an awesome week. Plants have once again almost doubled in size…almost. I cannot stop them from growing out of control and they are suppose to at least double once flower is initiated. So, this week I will completely defoliate all the big fan leaves and after 7 days healing switch to flower.
I have never completely defoliated my plants, but I’m open to new things. Usually I defoliate and lollipop at the 3rd week of flower. Until then I leave them alone with little stress. All in all, I want a full net but also an easier time during harvest so I’m going to remove all the big fan leave’s multiple times this run.
Lights are still on 40% and will gradually get to 75% by week one of flower. All my co2 tanks will be filled this week. I want high temps/high humidity/lots of par/lots of co2. ⭐️THIS IS THE OBJECTIVE⭐️ for the first 6 weeks of flower 👇
1500 on par meter
80-85 degrees
60-65% humidity
1500ppm co2
This is how we get 💪 size colas!
Thanks for stopping by and see you next week.
FLOWER WEEK 1
⭐️Nutrients Used⭐️
Front Row AG Si .5g per gallon
Front Row AG Part A 3.3g per gallon
Front Row AG Part B 2.2g per gallon
Front Row AG Phoszyme .4g per gallon
Front Row AG Bloom 2.6g per gallon
Front Row AG CleanUp .3g per gallon
This has been a great week. Some of the basics are coming together. Lights have been gradually raised by 5-10% every day except the last 2 days. By the end of week 2 flower they will be 100% and will stay there until last week of flower. Temp is 80 degrees, humidity is 60% and will also stay that way until the last 10 days of flower.
I will go another week of tucking branches under the net to try and let the last plant reach the net. It’s just not stretching like the others. I need at least a week of stretch with vertical growth, so my smallest plant needs to catch up.
There has to be 300+ tops in this 4x12 area. Every single node was topped 7-10 days before flower. Each branch has multiple nodes now. Between day 14-25 everything under the net will be removed.
Clones were taken of every plant for a hopeful keeper pheno. Gonna try the whole “mother plant full clone run” for the next grow.
By the end of week 2 parameters will be
1500ppm co2
1200-1500 ppfd
80 degrees
60% humidity
Thanks for all the support and see you next week.
WEEK 2 FLOWER
⭐️NUTRIENTS USED ⭐️
Front Row AG Si .5ml per gallon
Front Row AG Part A 3.3g per gallon
Front Row AG Part B 2.2g per gallon
Front Row AG Phoszyme .4g per gallon
Front Row AG Bloom 2.6g per gallon
Front Row AG Triologic 1ml per gallon
Front Row AG CleanUp .2g per gallon
This week the whole slate of Front Row AG nutrients are used. For my first experience using salt type nutrient, everything seems to be going well. No deficiencies and no signs of stress. Mixing is super easy and everything dissolves 100%.
My lights were gradually raised by 5-10% every day until 100%. Beginning the week PPFD was almost 1000, now it is almost 1500 PPFD.
To supplement all of the light these plants will get, high doses of CO2 are given during daylight hours. The room stays at 1500ppm at a minimum.
By weeks end everything under the net will be stripped and the canopy thinned of all large fan leaves. One big stressful event, so the rest of flower the plants can be left alone to bloom. It’s best to do it once IMO.
I believe things are right on track. Calyxes are already starting to form on all of the plants and things will only get better from here.
Thanks for stopping by and I’ll see you next week.
WEEK 3 START OF DAY 15
⚡️Nutrients This Week⚡️
Front Row AG Si .5g per gallon
Front Row AG Part A 3.1g per gallon
Front Row AG Part B 2.1g per gallon
Front Row AG Phoszyme .4g per gallon
Front Row AG Bloom 2.4g per gallon
Front Row AG CleanUp .25g per gallon
All nutrients are mixed in that order. CleanUp is a ph up/wetting agent that seems to work really well. I’ve been impressed thus far. Runoff ph 5.8/ EC 2.8
At the end of week 2 the plants are allowed to dry out…all the way out to dropping leave status 🤣. Then I flush the plants with a 1.0EC solution of cal mag and Canna 13/14 PK booster. Now they are ready for the big push of the next 5-6 weeks of heavy feedings and little runoff til the final flush. This is the way I have always done it.
All lower material was stripped away and I removed all large fan leaves. Light needs to get penetration into the canopy.
I should have kept tucking for another 5 days or so because everything stretched so bad it’s out of control. I’m of the mindset that it might be better to bend some branches over…but I’m not sure just yet.
Things are developing super early and it’s surprising to see how much production has come at this stage. I’ve taken cuttings to see if in the end I can have a holy grail Mandarin Cookies pheno. Fingers crossed 🤞.
Thanks for stopping by and see you next week.
⭐️⭐️🌲WEEK 4 FLOWER🌲⭐️⭐️
Nutrient Line This Week (all nutrients are mixed direct to reservoir in this order)
Front Row AG Part A 3.1g per gallon
Front Row AG Part B 2.1g per gallon
Front Row AG Phoszyme .4g per gallon
Front Row AG Bloom 2.4g per gallon
Front Row AG CleanUp .2g per gallon
I am not sponsored by Front Row AG or any company for that matter. I simply use the products I’ve come to like and use techniques I’ve come to know work well.
Temp 82/ humidity 55-60%/ leaf temp 80
CO2 1500ppm/ PAR 1400/ VPD 1.4
I’ve been using a higher temp higher humidity during flower for a few years now. The plants seem to love it. They are absolutely sucking down CO2 right now. Last week of veg/beginning of flower a 20lb tank lasted 10 days. Now I use 2 in 10 days. You can literally watch them grow by the day at this stage.
Plants are fed with drip tubes for 90 seconds 15 minutes after lights on and for 40 seconds 3 hours before lights off.
So far very few mistakes have been made and the new Front Row AG nutrients are very very good.
If anyone has any questions don’t hesitate to ask. See you next week.
WEEK 5 START OF DAY 29
I should say if you watch the video this week💰buy the cheaper single laser thermometer💰it is hard to get the dual infrared thermometer to hit a single leaf blade.
I have the nutrients selected only to get noticed in the different categories on this site. I’m trying to get Front Row AG listed as a nutrient selection on Grow Diaries.
⭐️Nutrients used this week⭐️
Front Row AG Si .5ml per gallon
Front Row AG Part A 2.9g per gallon
Front Row AG Part B 2.0g per gallon
Front Row AG Phoszyme .4g per gallon
Front Row AG Bloom 2.3g per gallon
Front Row AG CleanUp .2g per gallon
All nutrients are mixed in that order and allowed to fully dissolve in RO water before mixing into 60 gallon tank of RO water. So far so good.
At the end of this week the plants will be flushed with a 1.0EC solution of calmag and Canna pk13/14 and allowed to dry all the way out…to the point of oh shit that’s dry. Then I will boost the EC for 2 weeks to Front Row AG’s high strength chart. These are the last 2 weeks of heavy feeding. Then one week of lower nutes and 1 week to 10 days of flush.
For my first time running Front Row AG nutrients, things are going great. I defoliate leaves here and there daily. It just seems like the shit grows right back by the next day 🤣.
Mandarin Cookies has a lot less leaves than the old school strain that is in the room. I’ve got 3 keeper phenos and will show them prominently in next weeks photos. I’ve got one in particular that smells like sour oranges and gasoline…hopefully it fattens nicely over the next 3 weeks and will be my keeper for a mother plant.
Thanks for all the comments and I’ll see you next week
WEEK 6 DAY 41 PICS
Start to drop your temps at night this week!
⭐️Nutrients used this week⭐️
Front Row AG Part A 2.8g per gallon
Front Row AG Part B 1.9g per gallon
Front Row AG Phoszyme.4ml per gallon
Front Row AG Bloom 3.1g per gallon
Front Row AG CleanUp .4g per gallon
Do not touch the plants this week. For the next 2 weeks I will raise the bloom extra .4EC. PUSH PUSH PUSH!!!
End of week 7, in two more weeks, I will defoliate as many big fan leaves as I can. DO NOT TOUCH THEM TIL THEN.
Phenotypes are starting to show distinct qualities this week. All of them have enormous colas!
I’m glad i found this website. I was just looking for a place online that I didn’t have to hand write notes and didn’t know there was a whole community here. Thanks for stopping by and I’ll see you next week.
By now, everyone knows I use the whole lineup of FRONT ROW AG Nutrients.
They do not sponsor me and neither does anyone else…and I like it that way.
The last 2 weeks I have hammered them with the Bloom. I followed their nutrient schedule and then raised the EC to around 2.4 by adding straight bloom. All nutrients were then PH’d to 5.5-5.6. This week and next nutrients will be on normal feed off of Front row’s feed chart. Then flush.
This week was amazing. The single plant that was lagging behind has caught up to the rest in the room. Probably 2-3 weeks left on the whole room.
This week, til finish, temps will be lowered to 77 during the day and 65 at night. I feel this is very important to get a good crust of trichromes on the plants. It will work!
Thanks to everyone who has been sticking around. I know I do a longer veg than most and I hope I’ve kept things interesting. See you next week guys and girls!
Flush time!!!!!!
Starting flush EC was 9.6
I’ve been flushing for 1 week and will go at least another full week. All the trichromes are cloudy with very little amber. This seems to be the hardest part of the grow for me…timing the flush with trichrome color. I’m ok with a little more amber than cloudy tho, so it will work out.
So I’ll flush the plants once at the beginning of the flush period, to the point where there is gallons of runoff. Then I’ll feed like normal with zero runoff for the next full week. Gotta let the plants eat the nutrients in the substrate not just wash them out.
Big shout out this time around to a few other growers.
@Louder
@LegacyMarketFarms
@Qutro
@Hydro_Hiebs
@Dmars
@WhiteEdge
@DrJones
@mcgrows420
Thanks for hanging in there all these weeks!
I’d like to send samples for smoke review if anyone is interested. I grow only small batch, high terpene strains and would love the honest feedback.
Flush went well guys. Down to almost 0 EC when testing the runoff. It’s been 15 days of flush.
I’m gonna upload a harvest video of finished cured/trimmed buds in a few weeks.
⭐️⭐️CURE⭐️⭐️DRY⭐️⭐️
I believe your cure room should be so cold it makes your nipples hard. 60 degrees or below and 60-65% humidity…well as close as I can to 60%.
Thanks for the support and I’ll be back in a few weeks for a harvest update
Entered diary of the month for the first time here on GD. It’s been a good run thanks to Ethos Genetics and Front Row AG Nutrients.
Grow diaries has been kinds shitty lately. I’ve tried my best to upload as many good photos as possible.
I know I grow a little differently than most here on grow diaries. Push the plants as hard as you can, lots of heat/humidity/co2 and high EC. My motto, if you’re gonna grow, harvest as much as you can with the space you have.
Overall this was one of my best runs in a while. Deep orange and cream/cake smells and vigorous growth made this a great strain.
