This has been a great week. Some of the basics are coming together. Lights have been gradually raised by 5-10% every day except the last 2 days. By the end of week 2 flower they will be 100% and will stay there until last week of flower. Temp is 80 degrees, humidity is 60% and will also stay that way until the last 10 days of flower.
I will go another week of tucking branches under the net to try and let the last plant reach the net. It’s just not stretching like the others. I need at least a week of stretch with vertical growth, so my smallest plant needs to catch up.
There has to be 300+ tops in this 4x12 area. Every single node was topped 7-10 days before flower. Each branch has multiple nodes now. Between day 14-25 everything under the net will be removed.
Clones were taken of every plant for a hopeful keeper pheno. Gonna try the whole “mother plant full clone run” for the next grow.
By the end of week 2 parameters will be
1500ppm co2
1200-1500 ppfd
80 degrees
60% humidity
Thanks for all the support and see you next week.
@GrapevineGrower2, I thought I remember you saying something like that before…could have been someone else lol. I just sent some to @legacymarketfarms and he’s in Canada. Mylar bags that heat seal made it thru customs no problem. I’m just talking small amounts like a gram or so for samples to trade something where shipping is cheap and the packs will always make it
@Qutro, I think I might have bitten off more than I could chew lmao. I tucked everything for 10 days then I usually let everything go vertical for the rest of stretch. Holy shit day 10-14 they grew like 12 inches in 4 days. Might need a second net if the buds grow as big as I think they’re gonna. I know, I know…it’s a hell of a problem to have…a ton of massive buds!
@Qutro, so I can give you a few ideas. Greenhouse Seed Co will not ship to the the USA from their website. A couple of their new high yield great tasting strains like lemon orange, pulp friction, or kings tart. These seeds are never in stock over here and last time I ordered from attitude seed bank the package got lost in customs.
@FrontRowAG_BrianG, wow, sounds like a plan. We can definitely work on it.👊 I have a few ideas, but I don't know which seed banks cannot be found in the States.
@ShadowGrows, great question. I will top the main top node after the plant reaches a certain height. In my room, because I have a lot of space to fill, I wait til about the 5th set of branches or about 18 inches above the pot. It’s fine to top after 3rd or 4th node if you don’t have a lot of space. Over the next couple of weeks I will top any branch that gets too long or has this same 3 to 4 nodes worth of growth. DO NOT TOP IF THE BRANCH DOESNT HAVE 3 NODES WORTH OF GEOWTH. Then 10-14 days before flower I will top every single nod that hasn’t been recently topped. This give plenty of time for everything to heal before the push to flower.
@FrontRowAG_BrianG,
They look great bro! Growing strong and looking happy.
So you top the side branches before flower as well? I've read up on that but I haven't tried topping more than once yet.
@Inganjawetrust, Ethos rocks!!! I was a skeptic with all the “breeders” there is nowadays. But my last 2 grows were both Ethos and the results speak for themselves
@HydroHerb420, buddy if you could see this room for yourself. My father came over and about shit himself…and he’s who taught me what I know about growing. I definitely out done myself this time with the quality
@HydroHerb420, hey Hydro my dude! So I’m gonna do it again I think. I just topped the entire bunch…every available node 🤣. Last run I only topped one time and it was massive. This time I’m shooting for ridiculous!
Your explanation on VPD was actually very helpful for me. Without a tool to take the leaf temps I've been operating under the assumption that leaf temps would be higher than ambient, but now I know I had that backwards. Still not buying a thermometer, but I'll operate with that knowledge now and see how it goes. Thanks again.
@Dmars, it’s safe to say they are -5 degrees from ambient temps. Most the time it is slightly more than 5 degrees under room temp just like the substrate is significantly less in temp than the room
@Dmars, I’m trying to do a video weekly for myself to compare later grows. I figure I’ll upload them as well. So far things look good. I will say one thing, you can’t even touch these plants without leaving yourself greasy with oil. Gonna be good I think.
