This is a diary for a two-strain grow, germinated simultaneously. This will likely be the only post containing images of both strains because I started it over a month ago and only just now decided to create a diary for it so I had to use what I already had in terms of photos of their early seedling life. The second strain is Gary Poppins by EG and I will be keeping a diary for that as well.
Germinated using paper towels inside a plastic bag on a small heating pad, got sick on the second day of germination, and didn't get around to checking them again until the third day. By this time all popped seeds had 4-6 inch taproots, cotyledons fully established. My recourse was cutting a 1.5" rock wool cube in half, and stacking it atop a second rock wool cube with the hole extended to the base of the cube without coming out the bottom of the lower cube then carefully placing the seedling between the halves of the substrate with minimal above medium height and then lower the bottom part inside the hole of the second cube, and finally supporting it with padded wires.
Seeds broke ground on May first.
Misted cubes and cotyledons with a mix of water (100 ppm) and canna rhizotonic and canna start whenever they feel light upon lifting. Really at this point just trying to build some stem strength using Silica. I cannot believe how quickly these beans SHOT UP, especially for two indica dominant genotypes. They cannot support their own weight even with the double length plugs.
so excited! i just won 24 of these spilt paint from cookies website so im so excited!!!! real good genetics??? pretty spendy but if there’sa big difference is it worth the pay tag
I grabbed a pack of these, too. I wanted see what they looked like before I popped because I got few packs different stuff. Of the few journals out there that are finished all buds look amazing. I can defiantly see that she's gonna be bushy. These bugs are driving me nuts this time of year.
@Chem91istry,
Yeah, these are VERY stable genetics. Both of the Spilt paint that popped and got going have just absolutely THRIVED. The entire time it has been a steady growth and constantly outperforming the other strains in this growth "Gary Poppins by Exotic Genetix". Don't get me wrong it's doing well too but you can just tell by looking at the Cookies one that it's just really well-bred, it looks extremely healthy and always has. Responds well to super cropping, and topping and is a massive feeder. All the plants in this system probably are drinking 5 gallons a day between them and I haven't even flipped them yet! The roots are insane. Highly recommended. On the subject of bugs, had a small fruit fly issue earlier this week due to my girlfriend and a smoothie-related incident. But managed to handle that and now the plants have a clean bill of health.
