Starting Flowering this week, lights changed to 12/12 starting 8/14/23, expected harvest in 60-70 days!
Noticing some discoloration of on some leaf edges. Not all are affected by this so far and my initial thought is nutrient burn.
My PH was a little high on one of my waterings (about 6.1-6.2 maybe higher) and I was in a rush to get some water on them. I also had added a little extra nutrients last week just to see how far I could push them. When I noticed the color changes I decided to dilute my remaining 10 gallons by adding another 10 gallons of plain tap water and adjusting the PH to 5.8.
After refilling the trash can (reservoir) with 36 gallons of fresh tap water I then reduced my nutrient solution to what I had it at just before the color changes. My PH pen was giving me weird numbers so I recalibrated it, seems it was off by about +.30 which is pretty significant. Keep your pens calibrated!
I did want to mention that the discoloration may have been from stress. I spent time removing leaves and lower sucker branches from each plant, almost everything below the net. I did this spontaneously throughout the week instead of just getting it all done at once. Because of this I may have caused too much stress!
The thought is that while the plant is trying to recover and heal, I am continually damaging it throughout this process. Not allowing the plant to fully heal before damaging it more. Kind of a high stress method but executed wrong.
The proper way to do this would be to just get it done all at once so that afterwards the plant can heal all at once.
Last but not least, I want to give a shout out to Royal Queen Seeds and their amazing strains! Their seeds germinate extremely well, the selection of strains is incredible, and the genetics are top notch. This Triple G strain is really resistant to stress and the growth is fast! I’m so excited for the harvest!
