Last week before harvest. The temperature outside has suddenly fallen. Days are cloudy and the sun is very shy. I keep checking that there is no other spot of botrytis. Since cleaning the roots, I have not been watered again. The plant is not thirsty at all. The fan blades are turning yellow. In order to facilitate the ventilation between buds, I cut some old leaves. I plan on harvesting on day 75 or 77. The vision of trichomes with a microscope is great. On day 72 it seems that there are already 20% of the trichomes that are becoming white.

Grow Questions

Can someone tell me if the flowers are burned? the ends of the pistils are brown. It may be that the treatment with potassium soap has damaged the pistils? I always apply them in hours without sun. Thank you very much !!

Hi @Jeanpol! Yep, those pistils didn't like your treatment. Avoid spraying anything onto buds, especially chemicals, you may ruin your final product, or even worst, loose your yield. As soon as pre flowers are building up, don't spray, but you can use a sponge to deploy your treatment onto leaves, if really needed (it takes more time but don't harm the bud-sites) I think they will recover if you stop spraying, but those buds might be affected and you may loose some weight. Keep us up-to-date and happy growing πŸ‘Š

When should I make the harvest (according to the colour of the trichomes) if I want to get the maximum of CBD? Some people say THC is degraded in CBD (late harvest), some say it is the opposite (early harvest ). I'm not interested in CBN. I would like to get the maximum of CBD. Thank you !!

Athosanswered grow question 6 years ago
Degrading THC turns into CBN, not CBD. For CBD strains you harvest as normal, when thricomes turn white/milky

Thank you so much @CRiSPrGrow for your help. I will be waiting for the moment. I guess it'll be in a couple of days.

After sending my doubts to the community, it seems that the problem with the brown pistils in the buds has been the application of potassium soap on them. I hope it can be recovered. Unfortunately, in auto growing time is gold. Thanks to @Stick, @Mrs_Larimar, @@@Athos & @mad_scientist for your help and support. I wish you many happy harvests.

@Jeanpol, I have the feeling like...sometimes it is not like if You give more, You take more. Maybe this strain do not need much to grow. And then, if You put more, it do not goes twice big or something. I follow some guys here with Dinamed Auto and no one goes much bigger than 50cm tall. Usually only up to 40cm. So for me, You are very lucky with Your result. 😎

😬yep @GrowSport, it was not too late. I suppose that in 10 or 15 days I will be able to harvest. Imagine this genetics with 14 hours of direct sunlight instead of 10.

Maximum potency is when all the trychomes are milky. if they are amber they are oxidised which means it's already too late. As many trychomes as cloudy as possible is the best for maximum potency. Good luck with the harvest, i will follow for some cool pics ! πŸš€

@Jeanpol, yeaman as long as the microscope is in your hands, you have to make the call (but you do need a microscope!)

@Jeanpol, up to this day I smoked my Dinamed about 20 times, so I am already getting in touch with it. I like the potency. Hight from my buds is very clear. Hard to explain πŸ˜€. So I am satisfied. Definitely one of the options for next grow.

Yessss @GrowSport !! We are missing the sun late days, but Dinamaddy is trying her best. I read that you have already tasted yours! Do you think we will repeat? 😏

You can take out plenty of fan leaves now for sure. Might as well start cleaning it for the chop. This plant is pretty leafy and you really don't want any more spoiled. The more leaf you remove the more you can see inside the bud. If leaves come off really easy thats because there is mold inside where the stalk meets the stem and that may mean mold in the bud. Probably spores already present. You wanna be careful. Have it indoors inside a window might be a better choice imo. I think i'd be chopping that straight away. No need to waste more with mold. It's a cbd strain so it's gonna be mellow anyways. Other option is buy a light and a fan and have it inside and finish properly.

Jeanpolcommented6 years ago
@DirtBox, thank you so much !! I will follow your tips and cut the fan leaves. During rainy days I have plants in the interior with a humidity of 55%. If the day is sunny and the humidity is low I take her outside. I find your tips very helpful.

Bigger and bigger. Maybe cooler conditions better for this strain. Very nice!
Jeanpol
Jeanpolcommented6 years ago
@GrowSport, It's possible. The problem is that with the lower temperatures the humidity arrives too and the hours of direct sun exposition are shorter. Anyway, I'm really satisfied with this strain and its growth and strength.

Going of the pictures I would say another 10-14 day's will see this DinaMed CBD autoflowering grow completed πŸ‘ Would you agree my friend? All the best ✌️ Mark..
Jeanpol
Jeanpolcommented6 years ago
@DinafemSeeds. I already have Mark! It has been a little hard to use it directly on the plant but I have finally been able to observe the trichomes. They are still transparent and I have not seen any brown ones so we will wait for a few days. Thank you for the recommendation and your comments. Harvest is coming.
DinafemSeeds
DinafemSeedscommented6 years ago
@Jeanpol, I would definitely invest in a 30-100x microscope mate. It will let you view those trichomes and get a better view of when to harvest πŸ‘ You can see she is getting ready for harvest. Those lower fan leaves are being drained of nutrients leaving yellow leaves which is perfect and on track. I'm going to say 10 days maybe 14 and this grow will be completed πŸ‘ Thanks for the update buddy πŸ‘Š All the best ✌️ Mark..

@DinafemSeeds, Mark...Sincerely, I have no idea hahaha . It's my first plantation since 90's and things have changed a lot. I guess that I have to ask you and other friends here in growdiaries. I'm looking for a good portable microscope to find the 'momentum'.

@GrowSport, about 27 cm. Given I started maybe too late (August the 17th), she's doing the best she can.

Thank you very much for your quick response @Stick. Of course I will stop spraying. I've been using natural potassium dissolution for a long time...but...for some special reason Dinamed is sensitive to this treatment specially. Anyway, from now I will use a sponge only on the leaves. Crossed fingers from now to the end of the flowering.

Congratulations on a successful Dinafem harvest on the grow diary platform mate πŸ‘ When we say 70 days this is an estimate. Sometimes 65 days others 75 and with outdoor I tend to find plants especially autoflowering genetics tend to take 10-25% longer to finish ✌️ A nice looking harvest filled with CBD goodness πŸ‘Œ Great outdoor grow with a great result πŸ‘Š All the best Mark..
