22 Sept - Started germinating directly in coco coir(70%) and perlite(30%). Starting right off the hop with my full nutrient mix just heavily diluted. PH'ed to 6.1.
25 Sept - First sign of life, hasn't completely popped up yet.
Update - 'B' Decided to grow upside down, I don't know what happened. I carefully dug her up and flipped her the proper way.
Day 1 - 26 Sept - They have officially popped up. Ironically after yesterday 'B' looks healthier so far.
Day 2 - 27 Sept - Huge difference in 24 hours. 'A' Is stretching, I moved the light closer from 120ppfd to 225ppfd. 'B' is moving slower, I'm assuming due to the surgery I did with her coming through upside down.
Day 3 - 29 Sept - Transplanted into 2 gallon fabric pots today, 'A' decide to start throwing roots through her nursery pot. 'B' looks kind of sad, I transplanted her anyway to make the light easier to manage between the two.
Day 4 - 29 Sept - 'A' Is looking great aside from how much she is stretching. 'B' seems to be stunted. I started germinating 'C' today to up my odds of achieving the yields that I'm after.
Day 5 - 30 Sept - 'A' Is definitely happy, still stretching. I lowered the light more to read around 260ppfd. 'B' has finally started growing again, I may have jumped the gun trying to germinate another. But I'd rather an extra plant than not enough.
Day 6 - 01 Oct - 'A' Is doing well, starting to see the next set of true leaves come in. 'B' I'd actually doing well to, the first true leaves are finally getting bigger.
Day 7 - 02 Oct - 'A' and 'B' are both doing well. 'C' came up today. I finally got my new tent and light today, so I'll be watching close to make sure they adjust well. The light is at 18 inches and dimmed to about 230-240ppfd at the plants.
Day 8 - 03 Oct - All are happy and healthy, developing nicely. I'll probably repot 'C' tomorrow into the 2 gallon pot.
Day 9 - 04 Oct - All are growing at a healthy rate. Transplanted 'C' today, hopefully she takes well to it.
Day 10 - 05 Oct - All three are happy and healthy! 'C' seems to be taking well to the transplant.
Day 11 - 06 Oct - All are happy and healthy! Just bumped up the dimmer on the light, reading 260-270 ppfd at the plants.
Day 12 - 07 Oct - Going great! 'A' Is throwing her 3rd node with signs of the 4th as well. 'B' Is starting to throw her 3rd node. 'C' is just starting her 2nd node, but I'm impressed, she's catching up!
Day 13 - 08 Oct - Not much to report. Going smoothly, tracking steady growth. Tomorrow I plan to do my weekly flush before I slightly increase nutrients again.
Day 14 - 09 Oct - Happy and healthy!
Day 15 - 10 Oct - All three seem to be quite happy. I upped the nutrients slightly today and so far no complaints.
Day 16 - 11 Oct - Happy and healthy! I'm thinking of trying 'Main-Lining' on this grow. I think I'm only a few days away from topping 'A'.
Day 17 - 12 Oct - Got some leaves starting to twist and some yellowing in between the veins. I upped the ph to 6.0 today, we'll see if that makes a difference while I try to figure this mystery out.
Update - Going through others grow questions I think it's lining up with a magnesium deficiency. Hopefully the ph buys me some time. I've mixed up a stronger feed to try tomorrow.
Day 18 - 13 Oct - They are doing well overall. I've upped the calmag to 2ml/l, just a waiting game right now really.
Day 19 - 14 Oct - The new growth has been looking good, I think the calmag did the trick. Topped 'A' today to start main-lining, I plan to do the same to the other two as they catch up.
Day 20 - 15 Oct - 'A' Is taking well to yesterday's stress. 'B' is almost ready for the topping as well. She has some deformities, so we'll see if she can handle it. 'C' Is a strong one, she's catching up fast!
Day 21 - 16 Oct - 'A' should be ready to start LST in the next couple of days. 'B' was topped this morning to start main-lining her too. As of this evening she seems to be taking it well. 'C' is doing well, I'm just waiting on her to throw another node before topping her too.
Day 22 - 17 Oct - All are happy and healthy. Started LST on 'A' today. 'B' should be ready for LST soon. Still waiting to start main-lining 'C' but she is getting close.
Day 23 - 18 Oct - 'A' Is taking well to the LST and should be ready to be topped again soon. Today I started LST on 'B'. I think 'C' will be ready to the topping and defoliation tomorrow.
Day 24 - 19 Oct - Topped 'A' for the second time today, should bring her to 4 main colas. One more topping to go. 'B' still needs time to recover. 'C' Had her first topping and defoliation today.
Day 25 - 20 Oct - All three are progressing well. I'm watching 'B' right now, she's still growing but doesn't look too happy. I don't know yet if it's stress or if something else is going on.
Day 26 - 21 Oct - More LST on 'A' today. Topped 'B' as well this morning. Started LST on 'C' this afternoon. Decided to flush the three of them today too.
Day 27 - 22 Oct - Lots to write about today. I seem sto have symptoms of over watering and maybe excess nitrogen. I've read a lot about growing in coco. I think either I didn't rinse to coco well enough, or I water too quickly compacting the coco. I skipped this mornings feed to dry them out a bit. This evening I'm going to start watering a bit less and slower. I'm also going to try a new feed ratio, I broke down what I was giving them and realized it was high in nitrogen and very low on micronutrients.
We are going to find out how resilient this strain is. With all these stresses the plants have I split the main stalk on 'C' today while moving her. I taped it back together, let's see if she recovers.
Day 28 - 23 Oct - Nothing has gotten worse which is a good sign. 'B' especially, so far she seems to be handling the damage well. I'll be watching them closely, we'll see if I've made the right decisions.
Day 29 - 24 Oct - All seem to be doing well since all the troubles that came up last week. 'A' Is growing quickly, going to be ready for more defoliation soon. I started training 'B' again, so far the split stalk hasn't killed her. 'C' seems to be growing well too, it's getting hard to tell that she is 6 days behind the others.
Day 30 - 25 Oct - The grow is going great, all are happy! I removed the lowest leaves from 'A'. 'B' has adjusted well and is just about due for the final topping. I also removed the lowest leaves from 'C'.
Day 31 - 26 Oct - Nothing to report about 'A', she is growing well. I topped 'B' today and she is almost due for the next defoliation. 'C' is growing well too, I started the next round of LST today.
Day 32 - 27 Oct - 'A' Is growing well. 'B' had her next defoliation today. 'C' is growing well.
I'm actually surprised they are doing well. My ph meter essentially died on me. It decided to loose calibration and won't let me calibrate it. I've fed them at least twice at a very low ph before I realized. I should have a new ph meter tomorrow.
Day 33 - 28 Oct - New ph meter came in, and Holy crap I was off. Thankfully not much damage so far. Just adjusted the training today.
Day 34 - 29 Oct - All is well today. Defoliated 'A' today and started training for the final shape. Not much done to 'B'. Lots done to 'C' though, the works, defoliation, topping, and training.
Day 35 - 30 Oct - Not much to report today. 'A' just needs to grow. 'B' is a day or two from the next defoliation and LST. 'C' needs a number of days still I think. Started the next week in my feed plan today.
Day 36 - 31 Oct - Final defoliation on 'A' as part of the main-lining, just going to let her stretch now. Defoliated 'B' aswell, still one more to go. Left 'C' alone today.
Day 38 - 02 Nov - The last two days have gone very well. 'A' Is progressing very nicely. Did the final defoliation of 'B' as part of the main-lining, she just needs to stretch. 'C' had her second last defoliation today, once she catches up I will give them all a short period of rest and recovery before transplanting to 5 gallon pots.
Day 39 - 03 Nov - The are filling the tent up nicely, the main-lining is definitely doing what I wanted. I removed the training wire from 'A' and 'B' today, I want to see how they react. 'C' was left alone.
Day 40 - 04 Nov - All are happy and healthy. I put the training wire back on 'A' and 'B', they lifted up too much and I still need 'C' to catch up. I just rinsed more coco today planning on transplanting once 'C' is where I want her.
Day 41 - 05 Nov - Happy and healthy! Only real report today is for 'C'. She had her final defoliation today as part of the main-lining.
Day 42 - 06 Nov - All are happy and healthy.
Day 43 - 07 Nov - Grow is going very well. I'm planning on transplanting in the next day or two. If all goes well I'll give them one or two weeks of rest and then flip to flower. I'm starting this week on the same feed ratio. I got some burn tips last week but it didn't spread so I think I'm safe to keep where I am for a week.
Day 44 - 08 Nov - Had some free time this afternoon so I decided today is the time to transplant into the 5 gallon pots. The transplant went well. All three plants have very well developed roots. Hoping that I didn't stress them much, and the extra space will give them a boost before the flip to flower.
Day 45 - 09 Nov - Happy and healthy! All three seem to be taking the transplant very well!
Day 46 - 10 Nov - Not much to report today, all are very happy!
Day 47 - 11 Nov - Today I did some defoliation, removed one fan leaf from each mature node to thin them out a bit.
Day 48 - 12 Nov - Happy and Healthy!
Day 49 - 13 Nov - Starting to get some brown spots and light green, almost yellow leaves. I recalibrated my ph meter today, it was off so we'll see if that does the trick. I flushed ph water through, and fed again a few hours later. The spots are pretty minor still so I'm going to follow through with my plan of switching to 12/12 tomorrow.
Day 50 - 14 Nov - The grow is going quite well! Today is the first day of 12/12, telling them to flower. I did a minor defoliation of the shaded leaves. Also slowly adjusting the nutrients towards a flower ratio.
Day 51 - 15 Nov - The girls are happy for the most part. Still some brown spots and yellowing setting in. I've upped the calmag by 0.5 ml/L, we'll see over the next few days if that makes a difference.
Day 52 - 16 Nov - Happy and healthy! I think the extra calmag is making the difference that they needed.
Day 56 - 20 Nov - Life got busy, had to slow down on updates. The girls are still doing very well! I did another defoliation as they were getting a tad bushy again. Fingers crossed my nutrients get shipped soon, I'm getting very low...
Day 61 - 25 Nov - I've had a very busy week, haven't had the time or energy to post updates. The girls are doing very well! The increase in CalMag stopped the issues that I was having previously. I've switched to Green Planet for the base nutrients as I got a better deal on them. They fit right in, no need to change ratios, and the girls haven't complained!
Day 63 - 27 Nov - The girls are happy and healthy!
Day 67 - 01 Dec - The girls are doing very well, lots of bud sites showing up. I think tomorrow I'm going to defoliate as they are getting very dense with leaves.
Day 68 - 02 Dec - I did a very heavy defoliation today. They were very dense, the bud sites can get a lot more light and air now. I had to put ties around A and B, they were struggling to hold themselves up.
Day 69 - 03 Dec - Happy and healthy! They seem to be taking the defoliation well. I'm just about out of room to raise the light, I actually hope they stop stretching.
@Herbie101, Thanks! I'm really unsure at the moment. 'A' Is shapped how I want her, but 'C' probably won't be there until the end of the week. Honestly I'm due to look through other diaries to get an idea what I'm after for size and time.
@Herbie101, Thats my plan for this grow too! I think the 'bonsai' like aspect of it is really cool, and hoping it will be an efficient use of the space.
@Vercety1534, Yeah, i can relate to this buddy. After the autos it is nice to not feel under pressure and being able to do more during veg. I'm gonna try my first kind of mainlining and i'm soo excited about it! Happy growing 🌱🌞🍀
