Disclaimer: I fill my diaries on the go and update them during the week. So if you like to get all the information and pics of innocent plants getting the herbie101 treatment, always check back on the last week to get the FULL picture (of a grower trying hard not to kill his plants). Thank you, have a wonderful week and happy growing!
Plans for this week: They are alive and look pretty happy, so we are going to do absolutely nothing besides pampering them as good we can. For now i stick with the spraybottle, in a few days i start giving them sips of water. Mainly to get the soil a good wetting, to let the roots go for oxygen hunting and branching out. So this week is all about the roots!
To celebrate the survival of all three seeds and to honor this important process, all of the girls got their names which is a reflection of their personality in their first week of life.
First we got daisy: Daisy is the quarterbacks girlfriend and everbodys darling. She was the first one to sprout and just came out perfect. Her life was all sunshine and glitter up to know, where the real struggles may (or may not) begin.
Second is Captain Falcon: Cap came on the sond place in the race for the firstborn title. She had a crippled wing, which is still a bit battered. But Cap Falcon is willing to turn her weakness into an advantage and is on the epic quest to become the shining star of this grow.
And last but not least, we have John. She is the survivor. Having the roughest start in life, she digged through tons of soil to reach the light. The weakest who will get the strongest. She dug herself up and is currently doing a seedling pistolsquad to get back on her feet. She is gonna be the John Rambo comebackstory of this run.
We will see how their lifes will develop going foward! Stay tuned!
Day 7: All of the three girls made it through their first week. Thats a big win! They seem to develop fine, so i want to do as little as possible and not disturbing them doing their thing. I hope John will keep up with Daisy and Cap, but its too early to make a guess. In fact, john is not even recovering, she is doing push ups to kick ass later on! *Rocky montage music*
Anyway: I spray them regularly, keep their domes up and try to watch the temps not climbing too high. I take a VPD-Chart as a guideline to try to set things as optimal as possible. BUT i saw some fungus gnats flying around, which was to be expected due to the damp soil. I set up some stickies to fight the invasion and protect our three vulnerable inhabitants. Next week the plants should be big enough to water on schedule and then we can fight them off with dry ebough top soil. Something to keep an eye on, but no big deal yet i think.
Day 8: Oh boy, John is fighting! She is way behind Cap and Daisy, but she refuses to give up. This is the spirit! Lets hope John made some nice roots (which she should because that lift she does needs some true corestrengthπ), so that she can catch up in the next few days. Daisy and Cap are busy knitting some new leafs and looking pretty, so go for it John!
Day 9: Cap and Daisy are just chilling, unfolding their bright green wings and loving life. Cap pushed through and is now the biggest girl in the circus. John is moving like grandma, when she is getting up in the morning. But she is standing (almost) upright and looks like a howling snakewarrior on the battlefield. Preparing for chase the others. Hope is growing!
So temps are stable between 21 and 26 degrees and himidity is between 60 and 80%. I still spray them a few times during the day and keep the domes up. Cap and Daisy have almost outgrown their domes. And I finally received my new PH meter! So I watered the edges of the pots with a bit of water with a perfect 6.5 PH *chefs kiss* to remoisten the soil and give the roots something to go for.
Day 10: We're at double digits and our ladies are still alive! Some (i'm looking at you John) are way behind while the others are doing fine. Since its Thursday, its time for a midweek formcheck. All participant will have to face the relentless inspection of doc herbie. So bend over and cough please! *latex gloves snapping*
We're gonna start with our sweetheart daisy. She is 5.3cm in height with a wingspan of 7.0cm. She won't tell her weight, so we're ignoring that. She got a lush green coloration, no obvious spots or marks and no visible bugs or infestations. Well done sweetheart! See you next week!
Captain Falcon is up next. She is a beefy girl already and has recovered greatly from her birth injury. Cap has almost outgrown her plasticprison with a height of 5.5cm and a wingspan of 8.5cm. Vibrant colours, no marks, no bugs. A natural born soldier *salutes* see ya next week buddy!
And last but not l... well you are kinda the least john... sorry bud... we got John! She is our kid with special needs at the moment. She is 2.5cm in height and has a ... wing(?)span of 1.5cm. Well, she is green and bugfree. Just a bit slower. But that is okay, you still got some time little johnny. Go and play with your friends!
So quite a difference for 10 days with these little fellas! Environment stable (Lights run with 20%/24-26Β° temps/60-80% humidity) and I am still praying and spraying! π¦π±
Day 11: The little trio is doing their thing and most seems to go rather well. Cap has breached the bottledome, but has a few little burns from waterdrops i guess. John is just really slow. I think i'll have to leave her behind, but we just keep her coming along until its time to repot and then we'll decide. I think more than two plants in 3.5 Gallon pots would be overkill anyway.
Here are my thoughts: If i want to mainline, i need to add some time to veg and because of that they will probably grow bigger than my other grows. But on both my previous grows i had a good chunk of space left. But because "ripper haze" is said to strech a lot, i better be careful when thinking about space management and just go with two.
Day 12: Daisy broke free from the bottle dome. So i needed to rearrange the tent a bit. I bought the bigger pots for my seedlings by mistake. So the domes are a bit small. But well, we're working with what we have. Memo for me: LOOK AT THE SIZE OF THE POTS BEFORE YOU BUY THEM YOU DONKEY! Well... i'll try to remember next time.
Day 13: So sunday recap of the week. I got a few things i take with me and a few questions i have to do some further research on.
1. Seedling stage watering habits:
I prepare the soil, water it and plant the seeds. After some time (in this case on day 9) i add a little water to the edges of the pot to remoisten the soil (for the myco, bacteria and roots). Also i spray them 3-4 times a day just to keep the surface around the seedling damp. Rule: As little as possible, but the soil should not completely dry out (and the plants should nod wilt). Are there better ways to approach the watering or is my way problematic?
2. Nutrition: I fed too early and too much in my past grows. So for this run, i try to be more patient. Thats why i did not add anything but water (with silica) and on day 9 a 0.2l per pot of water/root juice. Next week i want to add in Bio Heaven and root juice for every water application. I want to wait with N until the repotting to the final container has happened (probably end of next week). Repotting will be in 13l pots with 80% Allmix/10% perlite/10% worm humus. So they can then first feed on the N in the new soil. Too much? Too little? Okay as a rule of thumb?
3. Herbie, read closely before you buy stuff. Seriously dude!
So i think things are going fine. John is degraded to an experiment and will stay in the tent for science. But well i guess she got damaged during the germination process o, but i just write her off and that is absolutely fine. Shes a funny girl nonetheless and i like her spirit.
Thank you so much for all of your support guys! πππ Its heartwarming to gather all these people who are so passionate about cultivating plants. I just love it and i love you people! Thank you so much for your diaries and all the insoiration and input! Have a very beautiful sunday and happy growing β₯οΈπ±ππβ₯οΈ
@Herbie101, hallo schaue mal bei ACE SEEDS vorbei die haben sehr viele und schΓΆne old school Sativas aber auch neue Sorten und sehr gut beschrieben sogar Labor test bei manchen Sorten.
@@OimRausch, Echt? Klasse! Wieder was gelernt, Danke dir! Und ja klar: Original ist immer besserπ Aber ich bin sehr gespannt auf die Interpretation von den Rippersπ
@Herbie101,
Superstrains wΓ€r die Originale.. ich hat n Diary ΓΌber die gemacht.. tolles Zeug..Rippers Amnesia is auch super nice, aber die Originale ist besserπ
@HippyHemulen, I never tried dutch passions amnesia, but the fucke up short memory was real with the amsterdam amnesia i got over there. Such a fine smoke with a nice euphoria. Would be awesome if the ripper haze would scratch that itch. More of the stoney "what the fuck did i wanna do here"- moments. Lovin it π
I'm very curious about the sour ripper as well! I love the classic old school strains brought up to new life. I also wanna try barneys acapulco gold, but my growspace is just too tiny for all the things i want to grow! ππ
@Herbie101, Sour ripper is my watchlist cause im sour lover and ofc their classic Zombie kush need to be tested too. You tried Dutch passions Amnesia? Atleast they claim its original amnesia? Smoked many years ago some amnesia what was imported from Holland and that really fucked short memory like name says what i remember. π
happy growing, Herb!π
Keep spoiling themπ, they will reward you for your love with some beautiful, shiney, frosty, fat budsπ

@D33jW, Thank youuu! I would love to be better at it. But comes time, comes experience! But never forget to have fun with what you doing.π happy growing buddy!π±ππ
Followed, look forward to watching your grow. Amnesia Haze ehh? I may need to give this strain a try some day... I've heard great things and am a fan of super lemon haze.
@Browncoatgrows, Thanks a lot! I'm very happy to have you! If you like SLH you should try Amnesia! My wife was a lemon haze lover 10 years ago and Amnesia is by far her favourite strain now. They don't taste that different as far i can remember, but Amnesia has just that special twist (and a lot of nostalgia) which makes it unique for me.
@@justsomedude420, Thanks a lot buddy! π Yeah that's such a great moment! I still have doubts about the third one in this run, but two plants are enough π
