Hi Guys,
First of all thanks to Zamnesia and Plagron for making this contest happening, with some amazing prices :D
This is the first time in a long long time for me growing on soil as medium. I therefore chose to go with the Plagron Royal Mix and some additional Plagron Perlite. I have also invested in 3x 1L Airpots to pop 3 of the Zamnesia Biscotti and 1x 38L Airpot to transplant the strongest one to. I will follow mostly the Plagron Feeding Schedule and will probably add some calmag, as I am using RO water, as well as some plant success Orca and canna Rhizotonic for the roots.
For now the beans have been placed in small rockwool cubes soaked in PH adjusted RO water with a very light feed of Canna Calmag, Vega A&B, Rhizotonic and some Plant success Orca amounting to 500ppm @ an PH 5.9.
I will report back once they germinated .
Edit 08.10.2023
Out of 3, 2 germinated by today and the last one is starting to show her head slowly as well. Will proceed with CalMag and ph adjusted RO water.
Thanks for stepping by and see you next time.
Hi Growmies,
So far it all goes to plan. Not much to do on soil I gotta admit. Right now they are receiving RO ph balanced water with some CalMag, rhizotonic and orca. The solution is applied with a spray bottle every time the top layer appears dry. #1 is a bit behind, as she struggled to get out of the seed shell. The other two are pretty much on par in terms of development.
Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you next week.
Hi Growmies,
The ladies are developing nicely and will slowly be transitioned from the spray bottle to regular top feeding. I have decided to not scrog the final candidate this time and will her grow into a nice little tree, using the scrog simply for support.
She will also be introduced to sugar Royal as per the plagron feeding schedule, combined with some orca and calmag.
I also want to point people in the direction of the photone app, a very helpful little helper that’ll help you getting a good guess of the ppms at your canopy.

Hey Growmies,
All three of the ladies are developing as they should. Introduced sugar Royal to the mix, so far don’t see a difference, but the plants appear overall very healthy. Increased the ppfd to 269-300 as they grow larger.

Hi Growmies,
I think I kept my chosen one in the 1 l pot a few days to long, nothing really to worry about (nitrogen deficiency otw), but I have still transplanted her into her final 38l pot. She was also topped preparing her to be Scrooge’s. The other two plants will remain in their small pot, they are struggling a bit with deficiency, but I dont have any veg fertilizer for soil atm. The transplanted one should recover quickly in her new pot with all the royal mix. I will give her some time to recover and then let her stretch underneath the ScrOG for 3 more weeks I until I flip her.

Hi Growmies,
Starting to remember why I switched over to hydro. The plants took the late repotting harder than I thought and just now started to recover. The small ones need to be water every 2-3 days (350ml) and the 38l bucket got yesterday properly watered for the first time(3liter)
Plant #1 is 20cm tall
Plant #2 is 19cm tall (scrogged, so won’t grow in height much more)
Plant#3 is 26 cm tall
The contest is running for another 80 days, so they will be flipped next week, leaving her with another week of veg + preflower to try and fill the scrog, followed by roughly 60 days of flower. My last plant finished 2 weeks early under the gcx 9. should that be the case k will go for a nice fade on them as well.

Hello Growmies,
I'm excited to report that the main plant is flourishing! She looks incredibly lush and healthy. I'm delighted with her progress so far. The lower shoots, especially since the topping, have started to catch up nicely. I'm confident they'll reach the scrog by the time I flip her into flower next week. Currently, she isn't stretching enough for further training, but I anticipate this will change with the upcoming flip.
I've also done some defoliation on the lower parts and removed a few less favorable side shoots to promote healthier growth.
The other two plants are coming along in their one-liter pots, although I suspect they're nearing the limit of their root space. It's going to be interesting to see how they adapt as they transition into the flowering stage.
Don't forget, here's a bonus for you: use the code ZAMMIGD2023 at Zamnesia's online store to get a 20% discount.
Thanks for checking in, and stay tuned for more updates next week!
Hello Growmies,
Here's the latest on my plant's journey. Although she's growing a tad slower than those in my DWC setups, her robust and lush appearance is a sight to behold. This week marked the end of her vegetative stage, a strategic move to ensure she finishes in time for the contest's end.
An important part of her care this week included defoliation to ensure optimal light distribution to all shoots. It's crucial for her overall development, especially as we transition into the next phase.
I'm eager to see how much more she fills the scrog before the preflower period is over. Her feeding routine included a single dose of 3 liters of pH-balanced nutrient solution, which seems to be working well for her. The smaller plants in 1-liter pots are getting around 400ml of water every 2-3 days.
And here's a special deal for you: use the code ZAMMIGD2023 at Zamnesia's online store to enjoy a 20% discount.
Thanks for joining me on this journey, and I'll be back with more updates next week!
Hello Growmies,
Exciting times in the garden as we wrap up the first week of flowering! Let me share the latest developments with our flourishing beauty.
She's stretched impressively in this initial flowering phase. I've decided not to continue with the ScrOG method any further, as I'm eager to see the kind of colas she will naturally produce. It's always fascinating to observe how each plant uniquely expresses its growth.
A light defoliation was done this week, and depending on her growth in the next few days, another round might be in order. Her sturdiness is quite remarkable, hinting at the potential for some hefty buds – a thought that certainly brings a smile to my face!
She received one watering session this week, with 3 liters of nutrient solution. I'm keeping a close eye on her response to ensure optimal growth. Overall, I'm really pleased with how she's developing. There's something deeply rewarding about watching a plant thrive under your care.
In other news, the two one-liter pots have found a new home at a friend's place.
And here's a bit of joy for my fellow plant enthusiasts: use the code ZAMMIGD2023 at Zamnesia's online store for a 20% discount. It's a small way to share the love and excitement we all feel in this growing journey!

Hello Growmies,
It's been another incredible week in the garden, she is shining brighter than ever.
This week marked her first encounter with a new feeding regimen, and she's taken to it like a natural. With 4 liters of Flower Nutes, supplemented by Orca, Powerbuds and Sugar Royal, she's dining on a veritable feast fit for a queen. The results? Internodes and junctions swelling remarkably, a sign she's as happy as can be with the nourishment.
Continuing her upward journey, she's stretching out beautifully, with the first whispers of pre-flowering becoming visible. Each day, she seems to unfurl a bit more, steadily transforming in her cozy pot. The latest snapshots of her showcase a sturdy framework and a canopy of vibrant green, clear indicators of her thriving state and the care she's receiving.
And here’s something special for my fellow enthusiasts: remember to use the code ZAMMIGD2023 at Zamnesia's online store to enjoy a 20% discount. It's always a pleasure to share these perks with the community!

Hello Growmies,
Firstly, I owe you an apology for missing last week's entry.
This week has been a monumental one for our green lady; she's gone through the majority of her stretch. Watching her reach for the skies with such vigor is a sight to behold. In response, I've slightly increased the Alga Bloom to match her growing appetite. It's astounding to observe how she thrives with such minimal intervention from my side. Nature's resilience and self-sufficiency never cease to amaze me. The stems are getting stiffer, a sure sign that she's preparing to support the bounty of buds that we're all eagerly awaiting. Thank you for your patience and for following along with this journey. Your support and engagement are what make this community truly special.
And don't forget, Growmies, to use the code ZAMMIGD2023 at Zamnesia's online store for a 20% discount – a small thank you for being a part of this adventure.

Hi Growmies,
Here we are at week 11, and our botanical star continues to astound with her growth. The stretching phase has persisted throughout the week, each day adding a bit more to her stature. It's as if she's reaching for her personal best, and I'm here to cheer her on every step of the way. As the buds begin their own stretch along the colas, it's time to introduce Green Sensations into her diet. This should give her the extra boost she needs for this critical phase of development. Her thirst is growing, a sign of her expanding needs and vigorous metabolism. It's a balancing act to match her hydration requirements, but one that's deeply rewarding. I can't emphasize enough how smooth and stress-free this experience has been. There's a certain peace that comes with tending to a plant that asks so little yet gives so much. If the yield is anywhere near my usual harvests, I might seriously consider making a permanent switch to soil and the Plagron lineup. It's exciting to ponder the potential of a new cultivation method. This journey has been one of simplicity and satisfaction. The connection between grower and plant, the quiet anticipation of each new stage of growth – these are the moments that make it all worthwhile.
As always, a reminder for my fellow plant lovers: use the code ZAMMIGD2023 at Zamnesia's online store to get a 20% discount. Sharing is caring, especially in our tight-knit community.
Stay tuned for the next update. We're on this journey together, and I'm grateful for every step.
Dear Growmies,
As we step into week 12, the narrative of our collective cultivation effort continues to unfold with grace and vigor.
The ascent of our plant has ceased, and now the buds are taking center stage, stretching along the colas and showcasing the vibrant life force we've nurtured together. At this halfway mark of the flowering stage, trichomes are beginning to surface, whispering promises of the rich flavors and potency that lie ahead. The buds' current density may not be what we're used to, but with 4-6 weeks left in the flowering cycle, there's a world of potential for densification and maturation.
Our watering and feeding schedule is finely tuned—2 liters of nutrients every four days, with 2 liters of water on the days in between, providing a balanced rhythm of hydration and nutrition.
Our plant's stature is as sturdy as ever, a testament not only to her robust genetics but also to the exceptional nutrient lineup we've been using. It's a sight of true resilience and a reflection of the care we've invested.
As we edge closer to the concluding stages of flowering, let's maintain the love and dedication that has been a hallmark of this journey. Our collective spirit of growth is the very essence of what will bring forth the blossoming results of our labor.
Dear Growmies,
With week 13 upon us, the journey with our plant enters an exciting new phase.
The dance of the buds stretching around the colas has come to a natural pause, ushering us into the swelling stage. Each day, we're greeted by buds that are increasingly plump, a clear indication that they're on the right track. As they swell, our plant is starting to exude a sophisticated sweet lemon aroma that fills the air and promises a sensory delight. It's a fragrance that speaks to the complexity of her development and the nuanced profile we can anticipate. Notably, some leaves in the lower canopy are beginning to wilt, a process I view as normal age-related defoliation. It's a natural part of the lifecycle, as the plant focuses her energy on the swelling buds. In our efforts to optimize her environment, the GCX 9 lighting is now set to 100% flower spectrum and 75% veg spectrum. I'm carefully pushing the limits to provide maximum light without imposing stress or damage to our plant. This stage requires a delicate balance, pushing for maximum growth while maintaining the health and well-being of the plant. I
As we watch the buds swell and smell the sweet lemon fragrance developing, it's a moment to reflect on the journey thus far and the growth we've fostered together.
Let's continue this care and attentiveness into the next week, ensuring that our plant not only grows but thrives.
Hello Growmies,
Week 14 has blossomed before us, and the unfolding story of the grow is nothing short of inspiring.
The buds have ceased their stretch and have entered a stunning phase of swelling, with each day bringing more fullness. A palette of purple is now washing through the colas, hinting at the rich tapestry of flavors that awaits. It's a visual feast, and I can't help but feel this might be one of the most beautiful plants I've had the privilege to cultivate. Continuing with a steady rhythm, she receives 4 liters of nutrient solution every four days, sustaining her needs seamlessly. This grow has been a testament to the fire-and-forget approach, with the plant's robust health and vigorous growth doing all the talking. With both light spectrums blazing at 100%, she's now basking in the full 270 watts of power. Impressively, she's thriving under this intense light, demonstrating her strength and vitality.
I've also captured the PAR readings from various heights, showcasing her remarkable light absorption:
- The tallest colas stand under an impressive 1,271 and 1,326 μmol/m²/s.
- The mid-canopy level measures a healthy 822 μmol/m²/s.
- Down at the Scrog level, we're still seeing a substantial 522 μmol/m²/s.
These numbers reflect the careful tuning of our light setup, ensuring that every part of the plant is receiving the energy it needs.
This grow has been a journey of minimal stress and maximum reward. The ease with which this plant has flourished is a true joy, and sharing each update with you has added to the experience. As we move closer to harvest, the excitement is undeniable. If the appearance and growth rate are anything to go by, we are in for quite a treat.
Stay tuned for next week's update as we continue to nurture and admire the magnificent development of this plant.
Hello Growmies,
As we observe the growth in week 15, I'm filled with both anticipation and awe.
She continues her impressive swell, and new white hairs have emerged, suggesting that the end of January might be too soon for harvest. The delicate balance of maturity is playing out before us, as the first few trichomes take on an amber coloration, signaling the onset of peak ripeness.
There's a noticeable increase in her aromatic presence – she's getting louder, so to speak, filling the space with her potent scent. A beautiful fade is underway; the lower canopy leaves have turned a bright yellow and are gracefully falling away, a natural progression as she directs her energy to the buds. These, in turn, are taking on a striking purple hue, which is becoming more pronounced day by day. Each day brings a change, a new layer of complexity to her form. The way she's maturing, the hues she's revealing, and the scents she's exuding all contribute to the feeling that she's one of the most remarkable plants I've grown. Her feeding remains consistent at 4 liters of nutrient solution every four days, sustaining her through this critical phase. The light spectrums continue at full capacity, and she seems to savor every photon that falls upon her.
With new growth still apparent, I'm considering adjusting the harvest timeline. Patience is key, as is careful observation of her trichomes and overall health.
We're entering what may be the final stretch, but only time will tell. The yellowing of her leaves, the purpling of her buds, and the sweet, loud fragrance she's giving off are all signs of a successful grow coming to fruition.
Stay tuned for next week's entry, where we'll delve deeper into her readiness for harvest and the splendid transformation that's taking place.

Hello Growmies,
Week 16 unfolds with a sense of closure and accomplishment as we approach the final stages of this remarkable journey.
Throughout the week, the plants have undergone a meticulous flushing process with RO water, purging the last remnants of nutrients from the soil. This intentional cleansing is met with a positive response from our plant, as she gracefully transitions into the closing chapter of her life cycle. The effects of the flushing are vividly apparent as she starts to reveal her autumn colors. A captivating mix of purple and sandy brownish hues is painting her buds, creating a visual symphony that signifies the culmination of her growth.
In assessing her readiness for harvest, the trichomes provide valuable insights. The presence of approximately 10-15% amber trichomes suggests that we are nearing the optimal moment. However, a few scattered white hairs indicate the possibility of a slightly early harvest—perhaps by a mere couple of days. As we witness the plant's response to the flushing process and the emergence of autumn colors, it's a poignant moment to reflect on the entire journey. The care, attention, and shared experiences have converged into this final phase of growth.
In the coming days, we'll carefully monitor the trichomes and continue to observe any changes in her appearance. The anticipation for harvest is palpable, and every detail is scrutinized to ensure a perfect culmination.
I want to express gratitude to each of you who have joined me in this journey—your observations, enthusiasm, and shared joy have made this grow truly special.
Stay tuned for the next entry, where we'll delve into the harvesting process and celebrate the fruits of our collective labor.
Hello Growmies,
The final chapter of this incredible journey has unfolded, and it's time to share the bountiful harvest and reflections on the entire cultivation process. Trimming the plant was a joy, and with gentle fingers, I removed all the large fan leaves. The precision in this process revealed the true beauty of the buds, setting the stage for a smooth harvest. With care and gratitude, the plant was chopped, and the buds were hung to dry. The anticipation for what lies ahead only adds to the sense of accomplishment. The wet weight, excluding fan leaves, stands at an impressive 782 grams. The buds are massive, a testament to the efficacy of the nutrients used, particularly the Power Buds. The name seems apt, as the result is a collection of sticky, dense buds with subtle lemon notes and sweet pungent undertones. In the final moments, the plant unveiled some delightful purple hues. While I wish I could have allowed them to intensify further, it's a reminder that each grow is a learning experience. In hindsight, a slightly longer fading period would have accentuated those beautiful colors. We live and learn, and that's the essence of this journey.
A heartfelt thank you to Plagron and Zamnesia for hosting this amazing contest. The quality of the products and the support throughout the journey have been invaluable.
As this chapter concludes, I'm left with a sense of fulfillment and gratitude for the collective experience we've shared. The plant's growth, from seed to harvest, has been a testament to the art and science of cultivation.
Feel free to check out my other adventures in my bigger environments, until then...happy growing!
