Plagaron light mix is a fertilised substrate so shouldn't need a feed until week 2. A little information about this grow while nothing is really happening. This Is a budget setup, my ultimate goal like all of us, is to one day fully supply ourselves without external purchasing. I will list all the items I have, and how much they cost so you can fully understand some of the costs. I am a beginner, my first two grows failed. I achieved growing a plant but very little bud. But we've researched, and researched some more so advice is super appreciated, as you'll see further in I believe we may have burned a set of leaves. We are using plagaron light mix which was around £20 for 50l, enough for two grows with 7gal pots. We have a £75 grow light, a £5 small fan which we will be purchasing another of. £2.50 garden ties and for 5 fabric pots it was £5. We have ph down £10, calmag £10, plagaron terra grow £15 and plagaron terra bloom £15. A ph tester £5. Silver thermal foil £2.50 for two. Around 150 pounds. Extremely cheap. Not including the seeds. I'm just trying to be honest, transparent and help someone else in need of statistics.
@StealthyBuds, thanks man I certainly am, I can only ever aspire to achieve some of your grows just checked your most recent looks amazing, as i am a beginner would you recommend autos or photos? And certainly gonna need it with the budget grow 🤣
Might be wrong but I think you started doing LST a bit too early. Wait till she grows more nodes like three to four (then tie down node four to expose node three to the light, and so on), right now there's really no need to LST cuz there aren't any overshadowed grow sites present yet... Good luck 🙌 (again could be wrong if yield isn't your concern, since you mentioned bonsai)
@zenco, I do see some growth, the lower branches are stretching and leaves seem to be growing, I'm just so scared about her flowering before she's ready. I'm really put off autos. My first two grows were like hand me down lights and equipment next to nothing. But they flowered so early ( gorilla glue #4 and critical 2.0) This time I've invested a little more time and money hoping it equates to end mass lol. She's very pliable atm, she was thickening rapidly at the stalk and I honestly didn't want to snap her at a later point so it was a now or never, so far pleasantly surprised I'll be updating every week if you do happen to follow along
@UmbrellaCorpCow, only day 16 and she seems to be responding well to the stress, I'm sure she'll do great with what u plan on doing. Just one of those drawbacks of lst is trying to find out whether she's stunted or busy recovering underneath the soil :/ Keep staying patient and nimble with ur fingers and I think you should be good for sure
@zenco, hey, I've just added a day 16 lst progress update, I've only seen an odd few lst at such a young week. There are now around 4 branches more exposed than before lst (the lighter green leaf areas in the picture) one is underneath the main cola branch. Once she stretches a bit more, I'm going to try then rotate and stake down the main cola at a 45degree angle to expose that lower potential cola to have a total of 5 main colas fingers crossed. It may not work, im hoping it doesn't stunt her
Following for your first grow -- for a long time, when i was able to grow a few years ago, I followed hundreds of new growers to help them with their fundamentals. it's been a few years since I've been able to grow, but i'll be able to again in a couple weeks, so I may be a bit rusty to give you super in depth feedback for the first bit. What you will notice for sure is that teaching people the basics will be how you go from a good solid beginner to a good solid intermediate grower, it helped me immensely.
Your plant is very promising, though it's growth is going to be split among all those colas. if you're only doing LST and you're doing enough to make it sad, that's no longer LOW stress training. Everyone pushes it a bit too much every once in a while, but if youre going to shock it, do all the things that are going to shock it (defoliate, whatever) at the same time to minimize time under shock. Make sure to give it time to recover during its early flower and go easy from here on out; it will be more brittle and you have already laid the groundwork for its overall structure during veg. generally, if you have to do LST during flower it's because if you won't there'll be an issue crowding wise, best to avoid.
@Jaindoh, didn't see this comment til now, she's definitely still growing which is giving me some relief that I haven't stunted her I'm pretty happy with her leaves atm. Still really nice and lush green. I've been removing some bottom growth around 8 so far I think on the lower and leaving the rest I may do some minor pulling out of the branches if she's too tightly packed in the centre but leaving her to finish stretching before tying down in proper flower. We've enjoyed the process so far it's been amazing watching her grow now its all watching and reacting. No leaf spots atm really, minor tip burns occurring tho so need to sort that apart from that we're just pretty much watching her lol its a pleasure really mad plants lol
@UmbrellaCorpCow, you are likely to see some stretch but it's probably going to be 8in max. In my experience the only other main thing that makes plants barely stretch is when theyre basically completely rooted out in their container. As strong as modern autos are, it's hard to think they've done that in 5 weeks. The stretch will be good, the extra nodes on those colas will all have bud, and the nodal spacing should be tight. I use very similar training techniques myself. How much it stretches is going to be strain and pheno dependent.
@UmbrellaCorpCow, this shape will control the stretch very well. Super resilient strains are even good for advanced growers, depending on the conditions you have. Big fan of Royal Queen. The only thing I would add about your training is that this is a shit ton of colas which will split the growth a bit too much for yield (i've done the same thing repeatedly). Next time do the same thing but cut the vertical branches and only keep 8 growth tips. With autoflowers, you don't get to control when they start flowering, which means you can miss the best windows to do things like remove colas that will end up as larf or crowding. You're probably going to have crowding issues, so be careful about mold. honestly I almost think you might should clear out some of the stuff in the middle despite it flipping, but it's a really tough call with autos.
@Tmasm, ah well then hopefully! Fingers crossed. I snapped my main stem low stress training she wilted for about an hour and went back to praying leaves around 3 hours later, tough little ladies 💪
Hey bro nice plants! Im about to start my first autoflowers could you please tell me how much plants you have grown? And did you really got does beatifull buds woth only that fecida lamp? Are 120 watts enough to get buds like yours??
@Friendlystoner420, hey cheers man, me and my wife have currently grown white widow, wedding cake, northern lights, orion f1 and just cracking some new seeds from taste budz, yeah I used that light singularly throughout all my grows although I could do with another if growing more than one plant, but yes with its dimmer function I found that its easy to adapt to problems. A lot of factors go into achieving even popcorn nugs, the right watering schedule, not stressing her, the right light intensity, humidity. Some gals are fussy, others could sprout on a dessert rock and be happy. But definitely recommend fecida.
@OG_Mane, around 8pm at night I think, every 4-5 days in veg and 3-4 during flower. Lst after watering as the water can dislodge and disturb your tie down/stake down points, good luck bro
