Day 40 - Girls are doing good, starting to get a little dense in the lower canopies, but I'm trying to wait until day 15 of flower to do a heavier defoliation.
Day 41- Girls looked a little droopy today, so they got a foliar feed after the lights went out for the night.
Day 42 - Girls got a half gallon of regular water tonight to keep them happy.
Day 43 - Girls got another half gallon of water today. Some leaves are starting to not look so great due to the density of the lower canopy. Will probably need to defoliate a little sooner than expected.
Day 44 - Ended up taking the nets out of the tent, they weren't really doing anything in terms of encouraging an even canopy at this point and we're making it difficult to work with the ladies. They got a pretty heavy defoliation and re-arranged in the tent to provide better light exposure to my shorter plant.
Day 45 - Started to notice tip burn on my top leaves. Buddy of mine said it looked like cal-mag deficiency, as well as the plants looking hungry because the soil is probably exhausted. They got a double strength feed of GrowBig and BigBloom, about a gallon per plant, as well as a foliar feed once the lights went out.
Day 46 - The foliar feed helping to somewhat mitigate the tip burn and the plants looked happier.
Day 47 - Cal-Mag arrived in the afternoon so the ladies got a double strength Cal-Mag dose in their gallon of water to help them recover. Snapped a picture this morning, and they already look much better.
Gold leaf #1 has developed a white substance on one of its seed leaves. Can anyone tell me what this is, and if I need to do anything to combat it it necessary? Going to let the Gold Leaf dry a little bit (no water) over the next 24 hours and see if that helps.
if that is a peat plug or anything like it, it is void of nutrients and plants need them to grow.
It also looks to wet and waterlogged that's not good for the baby roots.
Double check you feed concentrations and watering habits. less is more in terms of water in seedlings and a week feed should be good for mediums void of nutrients.
Best Of Luck!
For people who use Blumat systems, what's the procedure for mixing in nutrients/supplemental things for growth? The Blumat system pulls water when the soil dries past a certain point, so what's the best rule for feeding in that case? Shut the system "off" a few days pre feed?
Your plants look really good. My grow setup is very similar to yours. My plants are in day 15 starting wk3. Keep up the good work. GDP is a great strain. One of my wife’s favorites. We love the purple strains the best.
