Whats up grow Fam!!! I have a LED lighting question. at what distance should a, 23 watt (real wattage) 48 diodes each of 730 nm (IR), 3000K white light and 2100K white light, be kept from the plants? Im looking to purchase 2 of these bar lights (veg/bloom) for supplemental light.

So typically all manufacturers will have a recommended distance for their lights for each stage. Unfortunately not all leds are the sam regardless of the specifics. However i believe a good safe zone in general for LEDs with seedlings like yours is around 20-24 inches. I dont think you ever want them over the 30s unless its unbelievably powerful. Then as your plant gets a bit older youll be able to move the light down, 18inches, 15inches, but always do a hand check and place it right at the canopy and see if your hand can tolerate 30 seconds without being too hot. Good luck with your little ladies. Happy vegging ✌️

Just a few weeks from harvest and have some friends telling me to harvest and dry with the roots attached. Can't find any info on this. Anybody have experience with drying the whole plant roots included? Their idea is to wash the soil off the roots then hang them upside.

Hi @Potagonia! Yes you can keep the rootzone while drying the whole plant upside-down, this will result in a longer drying process and is supposed to increase the amount of cannabinoids in the buds. I've tried this last year and did not notice any kind of improvement, despite the longer drying process. However, it's stil a good idea to keep the roots, because roots are valuable if you know what to do with it. Indeed, you can use roots to create your own medicine: lip balm, skin cream, anti inflammatory, pain relief paste...So don't throw out your roots unless you really don't know what to do with it. A basic usage is to boil stems & roots for a great canna-infused tea. Hope this will help, keep us up-to-date, and enjoy your harvest! 👊

Hi, yes i saw it know it but i dont do it. Its an " oldschool"-thing. The Idea is that the plant gets all juice, and doing alittle ripening. I dont do it because i dont like drytrimming, otherwise its absolutely ok to hang her with the roots upside down. I do it similar. i cut big branches and hang them Upside down( like many growers do)... happy and exciting first grow You got to watch the plant very well and hang her onto a place where you have good air-circulation. The risk of moldering is high, if you dont have a good place to hang her for afew days

Hey @potagonia, this is actually a good idea ! why ? when you hang the plant whole what happens is the plant will struggle for many hours maybe even days to survive and will send all its chemicals and energy away from the flowers to the leaves the stems and the roots. So why its good to keep the roots on is that there is more plant matter that is able to recieve the photosynthesis chemicals. As you know these photosynthesis chemicals is why you have a bad taste sometimes in the weed. So if you hang the plant whole then you will have a smoother and better tasting weed. Simple ! hope this helps bro ! 🚀

Hello , hanging them with the roots during the drying process will extand your drying period ans will give you a better final product than a quick drying 👍
